A bit redundant now, but..

Denmark's Nicklas Bendtner is banned for one match and fined £80,000 after he celebrated a goal by revealing the logo of a betting company on his underpants in the 3-2 defeat to Portugal.

Spain and croatia name unchanged line-ups..italy make a few changes, balzeretti, abate and di natale in..no balotelli, and ireland make one change doyle in for cox..

Apparently not... Jelavic doesn't start for Croatia, plus there are a few other changes... quite a surprised about Jelavic, but I'd expect to see him come on at some point.

I think Croatia might get a draw, and Italy will smash Ireland. That would leave Spain, Italy and Croatia all on 5 points each, with the qualifiers decided on goal difference - Croatia will hope that Italy don't hammer Ireland though, since that would put them out in the event that they can draw with Spain.

Not sure which game to watch, one sided with goals or close game with possible goals.

Will be interesting to see how Torres gets on against decent opposition.

The Spain game's flaring up.

The Croatian fans have more flares than a Showaddywaddy tribute band... (or Showaddywaddy themselves now I think of it..)

I reckon Ireland are well up for this game against Italy - they might be out already, but I'd love to see them get a point against them tonight...

I know, from the slow-mo replay, it looked like he had dislocated his ankle. And then Corluka gets booked for telling the ref what he saw.

Shame. Still, Ireland will do well to lose by less than two...

I'm a little confused by the qualifying criteria, and I know that Wikipedia is wrong on the subject (shock)... Wiki states that teams equal on points are then judged on goal difference, but that isn't the case... apparently it comes down to the head-to-head result between the two tied teams, and not goal difference. But, if the head-to-head results are the same, it then comes down to goal difference, and then goals scored... but, if that's the case, I don't see why a 2-2 draw in the Croatia-Spain game will guarantee Croatia a place the last 8...

Now this has also got me interested. I mean with the result stay as they are, Spain, Italy and Croatia all get 5 points, Spain have 4 GD, Croatia have 2, and Italy will have 1.
Now croatia and Italy drew, so they should have 2nd place. On GD.

Nope, he confirmed now, Italy and Spain going through....how come?

But during the game, they showed Italy topping the group. Unless my eyes are tricking me, i am half awake at the moment.
Apparently, if the teams are tied on points, it doesn't come down to goal difference, but goals scored against each other (not total goals scored though).

Seems harsh, though... since Spain hammered Ireland 4-0, but they could still go out after drawing with Croatia if Italy score another goal (and even if Italy conceded one to Ireland)... :odd:

But, Italy v Croatia 1:1, Spain v Italy 1:1, Croatia v Spain 0:0.
So, Spain and Croatia need to score 1 goal against each to progress? I, but, wat......

And they can still go out, if Italy score another? Is it just me or is this process really silly.

If the result stays as is, i feel as if Croatia will be cheated out of the group.

Yes, would be much easier if it just went PTS - GD - GS - Then winner of the match between the two - Fair Play - Toss a coin

Haha, yep.
I mean, i think the head to head rule is pretty good to an extent, but after that it's pretty ridiculous.

Italy off to a good start, should have scored another already.

Rakitic !!!! So close. Come on Croatia, really looking like scoring. Put Spain out, make my day.

Torres off, not so good now that the defence knows what positioning means, eh Fernando.
