You know you're welcome any time - the next one is scheduled for October sometime, but when we have a venue a thread will be posted up. I'll try to give a good couple months' notice.


I've been dealing with other "issues" so Monday is, as yet, incomplete. The important parts have been noted and I shall update - with pics - as soon as I can.

I don't mean to pry, but Mrs. Me would like to attend the UK with me, spending a few days in London and even (maybe) attending The Ocho... is it possible to at least agree on a set period of time, especially since she has to program her vacations as of next week?

At least settle if it's during the 1st or 2nd half of October, and if possible, which weeks?

It's usually during the half-term break. When I get back into school on Monday, I'll check the dates. It'll be one of two weekends - since we usually rent schools, probably the first weekend, which will allow us the Monday.

Half-term this year will be October 22nd-26th, so my preferred weekend is October 20th-21st (with a possibility of using 22nd), but the other alternative is 27th-28th.

If i get a vacation job i'll probably spend the money on a new pc

edit: if, and i say IF i visit the next lan 27-28 would be more suiting since i have no school the week after

Hmm, if we did do it only over two days I think we'd have to get it set up quicker, we lost 3 hours sorting things out! Or would we just do less socialising in the evenings or 'open' earlier?

I appreciate the concern folks, but I've run out of vacation time, damned American-high-salary-but-crap-holiday job.
I will be back in England in September, but since I'll be spending the 8th flying over there, recovering from jetlag on the 9th that's out of the question.
The 15th is my sister's wedding, and the reason I'll be over anyway, so that's pretty important and kyboshes that weekend!
The weekend after is 22nd/23rd which'd've been fine, except that I'll have used all my holiday up so I can't take an extra day off on Monday 24th to fly home. Bummer. 👎 Means I have to fly on the 23rd.

Sorry, it'd be wonderful to get together and race against such a fantastic,friendly and fun group of folks again, to see the old faces and hopefully some more new recruits too, but I just don't think it'll be possible. Sick day maybe? !!!

Shame 'cos it doesn't appear that the SFGTP is going to happen either. I have a venue, hardware, network switch & cables, TVs and furniture lined up, but since I posted a "When do you want it?" poll, I've got just 1 response and a total of 3 people that seem interested. A PM sent to 10 "hopeful" members generated only 3 responses, from the folks I already know want to come anyway! I really shouldn't have to bully people into coming along should I?!!!!

*edit* I take that back! SFGTP has suddenly come to life! Now to pester Jordan for official GT Planet endorsment!!! *runs to PM box!*
