Don't talk about Richard Whitely in such a dismisive tone! He was (RIP) king of student, day time tv.

But yes i appreciate the hilarity of Vegas' driving. He was probably drunk at the time though or worse.

Well i supposed it comes down to your definition of a minor celeb. I strongly disagree to the following list. These people shouldn't be classed minor celebs imo. I've given reasons for the most least minor celebs:

Jay Kay (lead singer of a world famous acid jazz group)
Paul McKenna
Neil Morrissey
Jezza (do you even know who he is?)
Lionel Richie (world famous singer, be around since the big bang)
Sir Cliff Richard (see Lionel Richie)
Joanna Lumley
Steve Coogan
Vinnie Jones (famous footballer, v. famous actor)
Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen
Stephen Fry (v. famous actor)
Michael Gambon (see Stephen Fry)
Geri Halliwell
Jonathan Woss
Harry Enfield
Terry Wogan

I said these were minor celebs in my opinion...

I know who they all are (and I obviously know who "Jezza" is...lol), but they're not major celebs in my opinion. Steven Seagal is a worldwide major celebrity in many people's opinions, but in mine he's not at all. It's all a matter of perspective.

I would not call Cowell a minor celebrity. Most of english speaking world have probably herd of him.

Anyway. Top Gear rules.

I wish they would do a Japanese Special. I'd love to see a show dedicated to Supra, RX7, Skyline, Evo's etc.

Now now, they do do the occasional Japanese car (Evos), but they generally work with new cars, so the Supra, RX7 and Skyline (34-) are all out of the question. The new Supra, RX7 and R35 should be reviewed either in the mag or featured in the show sometime though.

They did the R34 when it was introduced to the UK and then there was another bit about it they did. They do whatever cars we get over here, they cover some other cars in the news section but they don't cover cars that arn't on sale here, now exept on the odd occasion like the Maserati parts recently.

I know they only "review" new cars on the programme, but they always have special bits. Like a few weeks ago when they had the DB5 & the Etype. Or they did have a bit about Skylines in the earlier series.

Am just saying it'd be a good idea for one fo there features.

The DB5 and E-Type were "modern". I believe the E-Type was an Eagle E-Type, not a Jaguar.

The E-Type was a modern Eagle -Type, still a Jag but with mechanical work done by Eagle, the DB5 was just restored to it's original condition.

They do very nice work, what more would you want from a car, good mechanicals, Jag E-Type looks and a fit bird in the passenger seat (unforunately they don't come with modifications).

I was wondering, do they (Jeremy, James, Richard) follow a scenario (stricktly) or do they improvise from time to time??

Most of it's improvised, they do more than one shot of each scene and they can cut the better bits from the different takes. They don't have much of a script other than "Tonight on TopGear ..."

Ill just sit in the corner now. :(

Wait! the actual clip was taken from 'Jeremy Clarksons Motorworld' wasnt it? because, because...

thats a video of his most outrageous moments and the clip was taken from 'Jeremy Clarksons Motorworld' and then put into the Vid. 👍

Not quite, Motorworld was a show with a feature from individual countries each week. Trying to remember where they did, I can remember Cuba (because it was an odd choice!) they seem to repeat them on UK Horizons or whatever it is called this week.

Don't forget folks, Sabine Schmitz in the Ford Transit on the Nurburgring tomorrow :sly:

For those in the UK, Top Gear tonight features Sabine Schmitz (blonde German Ring Taxi driver from previous Nurburgring feature) attempting to get a Transit around the 'Ring in less than 10mins. Should be a good 'un 👍

Yes. A Ford Transit. After Clarkson did his Jaguar S-Type Diesel time (9'59), Sabine - driver of the 'Ring Taxi - commented that she could "do zat time in a fan".

K, got it. Dunno if you people know this or not, but the Discovery Channel has started showing Top Gear from time to time here in the US. GREAT show, I've got a few clips on my computer for it. The one with the F430 and the one with the Ariel Atom are prolly a couple of my favorites. Watched the one with the DB9 vs. the train, and the Evo vs. the bobsled again last night.

Yeah, it's a good programme. It's a shame that the people across the pond don't really have a similar kind of programme. The only American car programme I can think of to compare is Motorweek, and when I've seen that it's been fairly crap. Testing things like SUVs and family cars every week, the same boring stuff. What other car programmes are there in America?

There's a TopGear thread already that was made by merging two others.
Also, why is this in the GT4 forum? There isn't even a transit in GT4.

It will also be interesting to see if it can be done withot rolling the transit

There's a good number of other car shows on here in the states, but nothing really worth mentioning. Well, sometimes Alan de Cadenet does a show or a special on the Speed Channel that blows my mind, but that's about it.
