I forgot to watch today's episode.:banghead:. Do you know where I can watch it? In Portugal we still have to watch the 16 season before the 17. And we get the American version instead of the full British version for some unknown reason.

Anyone else watching?

I'm not sure why they compare the BMW 1M to a Golf GTI MkI, though...

Or a Lotus Evora... or a Porsche Cayman...

Am I the only one who wanted Jeremy to stop giving Amy attention and let Kris talk? It irked me when they cut him off.

LOL'd when Hammond crashed through the wall and the guy with the shopping trolley looked back as if it was normal.

I thought the part with Hammond pulling that tow truck was funny as well.

All in all, I thought the first episode was great, I'm hoping that the rest of series 17 will be just a good. By the way, I love that Eagle E-Type, the sound it produces is just phenomenal

I noticed Hammond drove over a perfectly nice Alfa 156. Really Top Gear? You couldn't find something a little more plain or detestable that an Alfa Romeo to crush? That's just a waste.

Also, the girl is white behind Alice Cooper's shoulder was drop-dead-sexy. Too distracting, I didn't hear a word that was said during the interview.

The beauty that is Amy Williams and that hand-made E-Type. What a first episode!

Also, they should start breeding that blonde girl that stood behind Alice Cooper.

Last night the car went down the hill in 59.something and the sled went down in 61 seconds whereas last time they raced the car was much slower at 1:02.64 and Hammond's bobsleigh went down in 59.68. ...

So does anyone know what was actually quicker the Mini or the bobsleigh?

Clarkson being a dirty old man as usual

I thought the episode started not that great but got better as it went along.

That village filled with E-Types looked amazing, it was like you where seeing genuine footage from the 70's. However I didn't like the Eagle Speedster, doesn't look as nice as the original and for that much money you don't even get licensed Jaguar badges. You can buy better kit car E-Types or even an original for less.

Yeah I actually wanted to hear what the guy had to say.

As for the MG 6 Clarkson is being ignorant and racist. The whole car was designed and engineered in the UK and without SIAC MG would be dead.

And she was about fourteen.

Not the one directly behind Alice, but the one behind his shoulder. She was only about max half in screen most of the time. Neither of them were fourteen, I have a sister that age. I think I know pretty well which ones look fourteen and which ones don't.

Excellent. A brand new woman.

Anyway I loved this episode,It wasn't like the last series in which they were really silly,it was great, good old season 10 top gear,I really loved the production and presentation of the 1M,its just incredible and no mention the Jaguar which was incredible as well, really seem that top gear is getting back on the rails again(except for the Hammond hummer bit which was silly, but that's just my opinion).

The one in white, yes. She was about fourteen - my wife and I both commented on the wisdom of planting a fourteen year old girl there.

As a side-note, I was at my daughter's school sports day today. There was an 11 year old girl who'd pass for 18 in an instant, if you didn't know that she was in year six of primary school (10 to 11 years).

Enjoy that register.

I enjoyed the Jaguar bit very much. Somewhat because I spent about 10 minutes pointing at the screen yelling 'THAT'S NEAR WHERE I LIVE', followed by 'I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM NEAR THERE' and 'THERE'S A VERY NICE GARDEN CENTRE IN THAT AREA'.

I'm easily impressed.

I thought that. Though to be fair it was probably intrinsically broken anyway...

Girls are maturing way too fast, especially physically.

I really, really love the 1M... Makes the M3 somewhat obsolete, but you pretty much pay for the name, really. The M3 is mythic, they could make it look and handle like a turd and it would still sell. Reminds me of a well known Italian car company who's name starts with F and ends with I...

Alice Cooper was entertaining, one of the very few SIARPC i've actually gone through without fast forwarding to the lap itself.

The E-type bit was fairly fantastic, loved the village bit and the ceremony with the Spitfire. Really great footage, I felt like they had upped the ante regarding the visuals across the board in this episode.

Oh, and Amy Williams, without the shadow of a doubt, has the most beautiful eyes on this planet.

Not really, well, I'm interested to hear a Kris Meeke interview but it didn't "irk" me because it was clearly done in a humoured way.
When I first read your quote, I thought he had done it in a rude sense in a normal interview setting, but in reality it was clearly OTT silliness, I'm sure Kris didn't mind considering he won anyway!

What does irk me is that TopGear isn't taking itself very seriously at all it seems anymore (I realise it hasn't generally for a long time, but at least the odd feature was normally fairly serious of recent). Kind of a shame but then thats what Fifth Gear is now for..though Ben Collins ruins it.

Ben Collins hasn't done anything in the most recent series of Fifth Gear. Even when he was in it he played such a small part I wouldn't say the show was worse for it.
