The Stig Farmer
I seriously have no clue who the SIARPC is :boggled: I don't like him...

Band of Brothers, Homeland? He's starred in both of those.

I would save my analysis, but I loved that SIARPC lap, fantastic.

Not bad at all, Hammond's Pagani review wasn't up to much but the rest was great.

Not bad until the last 5 minutes, which I gave up on and turned over.

I hope this isn't a trend for the series.

The content of the episode was good, but the delivery is just not up to scratch. Obvious immature humour joke is obvious.

Was it just me who thought that the Hyuara didn't look, well... that fast during its lap? A 1:13.8 is an astonishing lap, but is that car five entire seconds faster than an MC12 or a Zonda F?

Loved the Bentley rally. James is the only presenter on the show with a modicum of comic sense/timing; he can pull it off. Jeremy's review was great up until the Dragon's Den bit.

OVR: 75/100. Looks promising for the rest of the series, if the teaser is anything to go by. Could be a slow burner.

I rather liked it overall. I thought the Huayra part by Hammond was well done, his boyish enthusiasm wasn't cringeworthy, but showed his love of the car. The Bentley rally was clever, good for James to do something like that. The SIARPC as I've said was excellent, good guest, and the lap was fantastic.

Jeremy's section on his car was good, but I think he took it a little too far, with the Dragon's Den bit, that was just stupid. But the rest was good fun.

Looking forward to the rest of the series after this.

And Liquid I'm with you, it didn't look astonishingly fast. Maybe the straight's made up for it.

I still think there's something not quite right about the hotlap times. They had years under one Stig where even though they had massively quick new cars, the times only came down a few seconds (from the Enzo time to Gumpert Apollo 1.17 area). Now, within two years, the times have jumped 5-6 seconds.

I enjoyed most of it. The only part that felt tacky was the news, which seemed much more rehearsed and scripted than previous series. Even the last bit wasn't bad for what it was.

I agree that most of the news part was weak, especially when it was basically Hammond having a crisis over a children's book on agricultural vehicles.

Still, they gave the new Corvette Stingray announcement a whole 5 seconds before moving on.

The rally bit seemed too brief really, but it was still good. Clarkson pulled that last part off well enough, and even the Dragon's Den scene made me laugh a couple of times. Beat my expectations I must admit.

Didn't feel as "natural" as it did before and felt more scripted then previous series's. However that could just be down to the large gap since the last show.

Overall content was pretty good though.

Why not its free I think? If you have Virgin or Sky. Im sure it is. Well I know it is on Virgin, because that's how come I have it.

Ya those companies don't exist in North America. I still watched it tho. The part with Jeremy was hilarious. He just screamed non stop every time he hit a bump. Or the part with dragons den lol. Hammonds parts I found a bit flat and the interview was meh. Still excited it's back.

Watching the Huayra part made me miss the old Zonda F. Whereas the old Zonda was a complete wild, loud, raw and untamed machine, the Huayra just looked boring during its lap. No doubt it is very fast, but it's like what Hammond said about the Aventador. In a way, all that untamed and wild characteristic of the car is lost, and it's what made the old car great in the first place and doesn't necessarily make the new car better as an experience.

I was reasonably entertained throughout... until the last Jeremy segment, which was uncalled for, unjustified, and far too long. New Speed is better? Cool! New Huayra? Cool! Sandero available in Britain? Cool! So yeah, mostly good fun. But as in all TG, there's always a bit that falls flat.

Not a bad start at all,is it me of does James look a bit older.

Hope that is not the last we've seen from the Pagani,decent-ish review ,New Stig seems to be properly fast.

Bentley bit was fantastic (beautiful camera action as well),Jeremy's bit was purely entertaining and to be honest I don't mind these segments at all,do get a proper laugh.

Good start to the series i thought...James in the Bentley easily the best bit for me, also thoughly enjoyed the Colin Mcrae Racing Legends docu as well..so it was a good night!👍

I enjoyed last nights episode, thought it was awesome. Though it's not often that I don't enjoy Top Gear. Wasn't all that surprised with the laptime from the Pagani, be interesting to see the new breed of Hypercars come along and set their laptimes. I'd be surprised if the Mclaren P1 wasn't faster.

Second to last against the full spec WRC cars.

Surely the last placed car had trouble i reckon

Odd how Lewis already made his lap, though they record the interviews at the same week as the episodes air

Not always on the same week. I remember an episode where Clarkson didn't wear his poppy (spelling?) during the interview, but during the actual show. Don't believe everything on telly ;)

I always thought the Botswana special was the best.

Yeah. I liked the Vietnam and Bolivia specials that came afterwards (Middle East wasn't bad, and India just isn't worth mentioning), but I've always put the Botswana episode above those.

It's mainly due to the fact that I loved the car choices, the hardship those vehicles caused along the way, and the way they went about modifying them (save for Oliver, which was great for other reasons). I don't get tired of watching repeats of it at all.

Every time I think of one and why it was good I think of another one. The north Pole one where Hammond almost died and the other two were in the car drinking and driving lol

Next week, the episode that I think I may care most about; their trip to America with the Vanquish, and new Viper, and the LFA. YUS!!!
