Next week, the episode that I think I may care most about; their trip to America with the Vanquish, and new Viper, and the LFA. YUS!!!

Omg it sounds awesome already.

Oh the American special with the rednecks haha. So many good times

Not always on the same week. I remember an episode where Clarkson didn't wear his poppy (spelling?) during the interview, but during the actual show. Don't believe everything on telly ;)

Oh well good to know 👍

I hope the Africa special means that they didn't pass through Egypt I would be mad if they actually passed through here and I didn't meet them :(

Although I doubt you can get used cars from England here without hassle

I thought they said they we're going to find the source of the Nile. I know the source of the Nile isn't in Egypt, but I'd say there's a fair chance they were there at some point.

Yeah I'd guess they would have passed by here at some point, but to be honest with all the unrest here and the impossible traffic I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

I think that would only make it funnier. They went to Jerusalem to find baby just Jesus and traveled all through places around it. That was when there was heavy war too. We will have to see.

Don't be that mad. They came to Lincoln in 2 electric cars and ran out of battery and I missed them. :(

Depends on when they filmed ,The unrest hasn't started untill a few weeks ago only ,but wow if they drove in Cairo Traffic you guys are in for a treat crashes

Edit : @haitch40 oh I remember that episode ,they were there for ages how didn't you find out :P

Not really a strong start to the season. Huayra bit was good but too short. The news was meh and that bit with Hammond salivating over the kiddie tractor book was incredibly stupid. Jeremy's P50 knock off was OK but I'd much rather they had dedicated more time on the Pagani and Bentley than Clarkson's antics. The bit with Meeke flogging the Continental GT Speed through one of the Wales Rally GB stages was great. Being a big rally fan I love to see stuff like this. Dad enjoyed it a lot too since he went to spectate at that rally last year.

Next episode sounds like it should be good.

Don't think the Bentley part was that short, there is a limited amount of footage you can get from cameras setup on an incredibly long rally stage I think,The Pagani bit having seen it now was meh but phenominal visually .

The news bit was indeed stupid ,never was my favorite Top Gear segment to be frank.

I watched the episode, and in a word, it's great.

Review: 4/5
The Huayra review was business as usual for Hammond. The time around the track was phenomenal 👍 but, let's be honest, a bit boring. 👎 I think the more advanced cars like the Pagani, the more it will be the fastest car ever. Also, I chuckled a bit on Clarkson trying to spell "Huayra", and he said it's a stupid name because it lacks consonants.

News: 3.5/5
James started the news hilariously by bring back the "Dacia Sandero" gag. I liked that, about the Merc SLS Black, about Volkswagen naming their cars after terrorist groups, about the winter preparation sign and about the Race2Recovery team. That's it. The rest were rubbish. For example, the Tremendous Tractor part was funny but a bit scripted. :indiff:

Conti GT Speed Rally: 4.5/5
This challenge was very clever. Taking a 4WD sportscar in a rally stage is what every car show wants to do. :D Kris Meeke's driving was excellent, the camera angles were jaw-dropping, but James's pacenote skills were terrible. I felt sorry for him. :(

Damian Lewis SIARPC Lap: 5/5
His lap was the most exciting one of them all, just like the Hawk Stratos lap in 14x03. Many slides, great fun, yet slow.👍 The best of the episode!

Clarkson's P45 Feature: 3.75/5
At first, it was entertaining. The motorway, library and restaurant parts were hilarious! However, his encounter with Dragons' Den was a disappointment. :indiff: Still, his comparison with Vincent Van Gogh made me chuckle. :)

Overall: 3.5/5
Just like the Merc SL65 AMG Black, great, exciting, disapointing, rubbish. 👎:grumpy::lol:👍

Looking forward to thnights episode 👍

Theres a scathing review of last weeks episode in the Sunday Mirror today by Kevin o'Sullivan saying that TG has hit the buffers and is stuck on repeat, i didnt read all of it and its not the first time he has this to say about TG either, he had the same thing to say after the first episode of the last series..

about Volkswagen naming their cars after terrorist groups
Turns out VW aren't alone in that. Check out Nissan's al-Qashqai'da.

Anyway, the Huayra segment was crap. Just another pointless supercar being fawned over by the most irritating and banal man on television. The laptime was patently nonsense too.

He is pretty annoying. If one of the TG presenters had to go I'd choose him.

EDIT: If he tried acting a bit more maturely more of the time it'd be better.

I think if he stopped acting it'd be nice.

But it's what he does. He acts interested in things, but he's a crap actor and it just comes across as a cross between ignorance and condescension. It's fine not to actually be interested in engineering, but when you're asked to present a program about engineering it'd be better if you turned it down and let someone who is interested do it. Might even help your own career out by not appearing as an irritating, idiot mercernary.

Though if he stopped acting, he'd be a country boy with no interest in cars.

I think Top gear was so enjoyable to watch from the first season of the reboot to around season 9-10 before they got too obsessed with making it all a huge show. Back then I actually liked each and every segment they had, the news was always funny, and yet their car reviews were always both entertaining and serious.

Now it's all just pure show and I really think Top Gear should become a slightly more serious car show. Cars like the Huayra really deserve a serious review and not a short man just shouting all the time and not giving any actual facts about the car.

The last review from Hammond that was decent was probably the Lexus LFA. They are just too busy with making the cars drift corners and make lots of noise instead of presenting us with facts apart from what the engine size is.

Which is why I like Chris Harris' reviews so much.

On that, the only reason I am looking forward to tonights show is the looks of the new Viper and the sound of the LFA. I never grow tired of the sound of that V10.

Clarkson goes and tells us exactly the same thing Hammond said about the LFA's rev counter 3 years ago. And that 55 limit.

Regarding Hammond, I liked him a lot up to Series 8, which is the last series before his dragster accident. I honestly think he has been acting differently since the accident.

Why do they always have to call each others cars out? This annoys me to no extent. Hammond has reviewed the LFA, he liked it and then he goes on calling the LFA for a Celica and calling out the engine cover's panel gap when he damn well knows it's for airflow. He even mentioned it himself in his review.

Guess the show must go on :indiff:

Which car would I take? Probably the Aston for such a roadtrip demanding comfort and fuel economy. For pure excitement and track experience? I'd have to be an idiot not to go with the LFA.

Also, I think the DBS James drove doesn't even look nearly as good as the first DBS.

Dat Aston! I want to paint my room that colour.

Anyway, I thought the episode was pretty good, though the ending was rather predictable. And more talk about the actual cars would've been nice.

I seriously don't think a car that maybe 1 % of the world population can afford needs a _serious_ review.

It would have been an excellent episode if Hammond would have just shut up for a few minutes. I really liked the cars they brought and I thought the drag racing bit along with the fighter plane laser tag game was pretty cool too.

I think out of the three cars I'd have to have the Aston though, I loved the colour it was too and it does look really good.
