That is why dogfighting with planes and a similar laser setup should be a sport.

You can actually do it in the states, the planes were probably from the same place. You pay some large sum of money and you go up with a trainer and they teach you how to dogfight. It's pretty high on my bucket list.

It was an awesome episode. The cars alone were just amazing. It reminded me of some of the old specials they did driving around the country. I assume they will go to Mexico since Jeremy said in a couple weeks we will find out what happened to Hammond.

Personally not interested in the laser tag thing. I think they could've done more entertaining things at Willow Springs, like seeing whose car was fastest, or having a race. I was expecting them to have a drag race against each other at the LA track.

Love the colour of the Aston

Yes! Absolutely staggering.

Why do they always have to call each others cars out? This annoys me to no extent. Hammond has reviewed the LFA, he liked it and then he goes on calling the LFA for a Celica and calling out the engine cover's panel gap when he damn well knows it's for airflow. He even mentioned it himself in his review.

Guess the show must go on :indiff:

It's just fun, though. I'm sure they are fans of all the cars driven in this episode. I'm sure they all even liked the Viper.

I like the play they have with one another. You can tell they aren't serious, just poking fun at each other for the sake of our entertainment.

Also, I think the DBS Vanquish James drove doesn't even look nearly as good as the first DBS.

I liked the DBS (alot), but it was merely a more aggressive DB9, appearance wise. But the Vanquish? It honest to goodness makes my gentlemen sausage tingle. Most beautiful Aston (in my opinion) ever produced.

I think the Vanquish does look alright in blue, but I reckon it would look way better than that if it were in a colder, more typical Aston colour. Like a strong silver or British Racing Green.

Ummm, where was the Stig? Almost thought he was in the first Mustang at the drag strip, but no. More hoped he'd be there to take the LFA, Viper, and Vanquish out at Willow Springs. Also, at the end of the day, no swapping of cars, no hard statistics of comparison, no debating which was best. Very poor review of LFA vs Vanquish vs Viper.

Miss the more practical reviews of Volvos, Land Rovers, budget sports cars, etc.

But that wouldn't get ratings :dopey:

At least, that's what the Beeb thinks ;) Plus we're living in a golden age of supercars, there's dozens of the damn things.

Personally looking forward to the hot-hatch & GT86/BRZ test 👍 Oh and James in the self driving truck, I enjoy his sensible moments he's allowed every three series or so :sly:

I wasn't in the best of moods when I watched it but I am very dissapointed.

By far worse than the previous to 'merica road trips

Bit with the planes was fun but way too long any thing else was boring to be honest.

I agree that this wasn't one of their better cross country episodes. However from what I am able to gather, full real reviews of the SRT Viper and Aston Martin Vanquish are forthcoming (we already got the LFA, of course).

Reference to the shenanigans of the episode, mind you. :sly:

They better . All they said was

1) Viper is the same as the old one (Which it isn't)
2)Aston looks great
3)LFA Best car evaaaaaa

:indiff:

I thought the episode was ok..the road trip was a bit meh and i didnt really care for the SIARPC because though i know who Mick Fleetwood is and i know of Fleetwood Mac theyre music was a bit before my time so the whole segment went straight over my head..

Just rewatched the episode and I liked _everything_. Not to say other episodes have some bits I don't like better, but as a whole episode it's up in my top 10. Or even top 5.

The small road trip was nicely tongue in cheek - I laughed my bum off because of the "clever editing" bit. Drag racing the meat. Very LOL in very capital letters.

The SIARPC was genuinely good, nice bloke. News was entertaining.

Best bit, apart from the cars, was how they managed to pull off the shots. Extremely high production value.

For actual car reviewing I turn to Chris Harris, but for pure enjoyment I thoroughly enjoyed this episode.

Having seen it in person, I would ditch that blue for Cherry Red :P

A good fun episode, but no real point of value. What do you expect when you compare a car worth £340,000, to a car worth £190,000 and a car worth £94,000 (I think were the numbers quoted). Pointless. Of course the LFA is the most spec'd car (minus the cup holder (like anyone would get in to my LFA with a drink)), move on.

Another classic race with Jeremy in a car, and the other two taking public transport. I think Jeremy is in a Shelby GT500 while Richard and James are taking a train. Jeremy will also drive the Toyota GT86 around the track and Amy MacDonald is coming on the show.

woho I like these types of races, thanks Bram.

Which Amy is going on the show?...the retired gold medallist Amy Williams or the singer Amy Macdonald?

MacDonald, which has already been mentioned. Don't forget that Williams already set a lap in the Cee'd in Series 15.

And I thought the GT500 was an interesting choice for this race after reading about it last month. Full info here.

I finally watched last week's Top Gear where they drive the LFA, Vanquish and Viper. I honestly didn't think it was that good, with a lot of overplayed and unfunny jokes.
