Great episode i thought!

Loved the race, funniest parts was Hammond/May lack of footy knowledge, May calling Ashley Cole 'Adrian' Cole, Hammond thinking Pele was called 'Peel' and and Hammond thinking Ron Atkinson was Mr Bean!

The GT86/BRZ test was good and as for Amy Macdonald..well she is gorgous, got a great accent and she loves cars...i think im in love!!:eek:

I thought it was pretty good, not as good as some of the past races, but still pretty good. The GT86 thing wasn't too bad and I'm still undecided whether I like the car or not.

I skipped the SIARPC segment because I didn't know who she was and couldn't be bothered. I typically skip it though.

I'm really looking forward to the hot hatch test next week.

I planned on skipping it ,then I saw her

Just finished watching it, wasn't bad, not one of the better ones.

- Mushy review of the GT-86/BRZ
- Car lost the race (was interesting though)
- News was too long and boring
- Nothing else?!?

But

-HOT Scottish woman, who loves cars, that definitely earns it some points!

Yeah it was a good one, the one I'm really looking forward to though is the buy a cheap car and drive across a country one.

Like:
-GT86 review
-News (the Subie STI, Hotwheels and the classic car value parts were hilarious)
-Race (especially May and Hammond's French mockery )
-SIARPC

Dislike
-News (The Mazza part was a bit boring)

Average: 4/5
The best episode yet.

Hot Scottish woman who owned an Audi R8 4.2, R8 5.2, R8 GT and currently owns a Ferrari 458. All I can say is

I kinda liked the GT-86 review because for once, they didn't pick the fastest car of the year as their favorite. It's one of the slowest cars on the leaderboards, and they loved it. And it has a "false seat" in the back...so now the BR-Z is back on my considering list.

Great episode. The BRZ and GT86 review was short and snappy, good enough. Amy MacDonald was an entertaining guest, she did seem to know a lot about cars, best SIARPC this series.

I still haven't watched last week's SIARPC, but the two I've seen this season have been great. Especially Amy (for pretty much every reason mentioned in here already).

The GT-86/BRZ review reminded me of last season's M5 review with how brief it felt. But I can't fault either of those. Much of the race route may have been used time and time again in previous episodes, but after 9 years I still have a thing for the European races, plus the outcome was a surprise. As Mattythedog said, since they made a big deal over Jeremy being so far behind by the time the train left Paris, I expected him to win anyway.

The first time he loses and he's in a Mustang. Should have chosen a European car i.e a good car.

Clarkson made it pretty clear he didn't blame the car. The only advantage he would have had with another car in a race like that is the possible range improvement.

Side note: it would have been hilarious though if at the end Clarkson said "Now I won't blame the tools, but I will blame the car."

I suggest you watch it back then ;)

The journey in the Mustang, which as he said has a 50 litre tank, and he was averaging 12mpg he would have had to refuel maybe 5 times at least, refilling the tank completely. Let's for arguments sake say each refuel would take 5-10 minutes, that's at least half an hour and at most 50 minutes refuelling.
In a 2012 Audi A8 3.0L diesel with a 90 litre tank and averaging say 40mpg he would have had to refuel once, and he would only have had to put in a few litres, not fill it to the brim like in the Mustang. So let's say 5 minutes.

So perhaps if he chose a more fuel efficient car he may have won.

My maths may not be correct :dopey:

Eh I still can't be bothered. I hardly ever care what the star has to say and it's almost always the same questions. If I want to look at pictures of attractive women, I'll just open a new browser page, I mean this is the Internet.

I have an idea who she is, but don't have a clue what she said. I had to put subtitles on.
What? Say that again. I didn't quite catch it..

I think she was deliberately talking slower and pronouncing words properly for a predominantly English audience. I'm sure she talks faster and with more of a accent when she's with family and friends.

English isn't my first language and I understood 82% of what she said, yes the 2% makes it more of an official stat

Jeremy Clarkson puts the new Kia Cee'd through a rigorous but peculiar road test featuring:

*Eels
*Curry
*A rock legend
*An American police officer and an unusual game of rugby involving James May.

Richard Hammond gets behind the wheel of the Mastretta MXT, but worries about the repercussions of a comment he made in a previous episode about Mexico, the sports car's country of manufacture. Plus, three high-performance hatchbacks are driven with gusto around the test track, and another celebrity jumps into the Reasonably Priced Car to set the fastest lap time they can.

Enjoyed the last episode - so what if the formula is getting a tad repetitive... it still works really well...

The Shelby Mustang was an interesting choice for the race, and at under £35K it's good value for a car that can produce up to 662 brake Findus lasagne power...

looking forward to the Hatches part only, guessing there will be alot of fooling around in that episode.

I can honestly say that I enjoyed Jeremy's review of the GT86 in Top Gear: Worst Car in the History of the World much more then I did this week's episode.

Very much enjoyed this episode, but I've always loved the Race challenges, so despite a loss, I was happy.

I will say I am extremely surprised that the cost of the Shelby is the same as it is here. Normally, based on Chevrolet & Dodge/Chrysler, our sports cars have always gone for quite a bit more in the UK. I was honestly expecting the GT500 to retail around $65-70,000 across the pond.

I thought this too. Normal Mustangs are (or were) about ~$38,000 over here, so I was expecting a tremendous price for a GT500, one of the hottest performance Mustangs around.

The Chrysler 300C was equally cheap, but as has been alluded to by Top Gear on a number of occasions, this was reflected in the quality of the ride and materials.

If I remember correctly, Jeremy said that it would cost about that much (35K pounds) in the US, not delivered to the UK, so you're probably right that it would cost more in Europe.

I was sort of expecting they do something different with it (Cruise in a welsh country side perhaps?) as it is their car of the year.

But when they brought out the BRZ and both started drifting that was awesome

Yeah, they did cheat with the price of the Mustang. He said the US version was the equivalent of £35K. If it comes over here, it'd probably be about £50K.

Oh, and I spent the GT86 segment going, "The RX8 is better than that." "The RX8 could do that." "The RX8 has more useable back seats." etc. I miss my 8... :(

And IIRC, Jeremy said the Mustang had the most powerful roadgoing V8 ever. *ahem*
