I'd really like to see the Skoda Rapid.

This was also my first guess.

I reckon it'll either be the Rapid, or the MG 6 as an outside shot. I can't imagine them choosing anything larger than those as the next RPC either.

So they are changing the reasonably priced car? they haven't had the c'eed for that long, only a few years I think?!

It really doesn't feel like they've had it for 3 years. In that time however, it's only been used in 5 different series'. While the previous 2 cars each lasted 4 years and 7 series'.

I feel they could have kept the Cee'd for another year or for at least another series. I guess they really wanted to make the change sooner this time.

Were the Lianas still the current model when they were in use?

Were the Lianas still the current model when they were in use?

They were until 2007, a year after TG changed to the Lacetti. The first gen Lacetti was replaced in 2009 and was used on the show for another year, while the first gen Cee'd used in recent series' was replaced only last year.

Both the Lacetti and Cee'd were 2 years away from replacement by the time TG started using either of them. Although they changed to the Cee'd when it was already 4 years into its run, even though the car itself was a facelifted 2010 model.

And yes, I know they were joking about not having to extend the SIARPC board by getting a new car instead, but the current one is far from full compared to the previous 2 car boards (Liana had 65 set times, Lacetti had 57, Cee'd has 41). I still think the Cee'd could have been used for one more series, but I'm eager to see what modern replacement they've selected.

Yeah Jeremy and James have been tweeting stuff all week about being on planes, James was complaining about security today, said he was going to Italy. Could be a holiday though.

I don't know what Hammond has been tweeting, I don't follow him.

Saw a yellow SLS in the trailer. Could we finally see one on the track?

That SLS in that particular yellow is likely to be the electric version. The SLS Roadster has already been round as well. I read in the preview that the SLS Black Series will be there as well.
