Ferrari's only goal in F1 is the constructor championship, anything else is an extra coating of sugar. They put themselves with the best and quite possibly 2nd best driver in F1. This ensures should one of them drop out there is enough of a driver left to score points, not for themselves... but for Ferrari.

I also heard during the broadcast today that Sato said he would do the move he did against Rubens again if it presented itself. He doesn't get the fact he had no rights to that corner. Its like oh goody, you are gonna knock the crap outta someone and take them or yourself out.... again. :dunce:

Erm, I don't know if that's sarcasm but there was a picture linked there initially, Ferrari have since changed their site layout. It was just a pic of Michael, Rubens and Michael's engineer on the podium laughing and looking generally euphoric. I was implying the harmony within the team is a large factor in their success.

There will be no team orders because the Ferrari men are only racing themselves. I don't expect Rubens to win but he's surprised us all before, and he's had pace all weekend. I'd love to see him claim the win. As long as they don't take each other out Ferrari will let them race - they're getting 18 points either way so who cares? And if something goes wrong, ala Spain, then there's backup for whoever's suffering.

I'm expecting another one two well clear of the rest. Renault won't recover through pace but perhaps reliability, BAR will be quick, Williams... I don't honestly know.

Go Rubens.

Both the posts I have made in this thread are pure sarcasm. I was just implying that maybe if the other teams hired me, they would get better. But yes I agree with you, the people at Ferrari presently make them a very great team. So that is what you picture was, I never did see it.

Williams... I don't honestly know.

They have pace, hopefully they can hold onto it and come through with a win or at least a podium. TJhey need to get back in the game, whether they can or not remains to be soon, but hopefully they can and will.

What Darin said...Yes Darin I'm agreeing with you for once...And I'm using correct grammar...

And I'm not cheering for Rubens...I'm not cheering for Ferrari at all even if they're the real life equivalent of Road Runner...The other cars are Wile E. Coyote, they all have metaphorical anvils and other devices, yet Ferrari just dodge them all with ease. Sorry, I was watching Road Runner today. Lol.

Go Renault!

maybe the all should stop buying their parts in an acme store

 *builds a wall down the main straight of Indy with the painting of a tunnel on it, the Farrari's go straight through while every other car runs into it*

that didn´t look good at all, he even seemed to be unconscious for a moment. but he´s moving his hands and feet so he should be ok.

Michelin should be ready for an ass whippin, 2 tire failures, both rear tires. Looks like ralph may be hurt. The saftey crew is worst than nascar, took them almost a min just to get to him! and no red flag? Common!

i wonder if montoya will be DQ´ed for changing his car. rubens is obviously been told again not to overtake his "master"

edit: there´s the black flag 👎

there´s win #8 for schumi, what a surprise. almost the podium i predicted, except that it´s sato instead of button. lucky punch for the minardis there.

*off topic - on* the tiger will be back, hopefully before i get back to lilydale... *off topic - off*

Well the first corner was pretty good. Sato finally finishes a race for once. And Minardi scores a point . . . the world is going to end soon!

Now on to my questions. Why did they never go to a red flag? The potential danger of all the debris on the front straight was more than worth the delay. Did anyone ever hear why Kimi's car stopped for a moment on the track and then started moving again? And how did Michael Schumacher managed to get back to the lead under the yellow flag after having pitted? Jenson, Taku, and JPM had yet to pit and were in 2nd-4th position. I do not understand how Michael could pit and still come out in the lead under the Safety Car. Is there some rule saying that the leader gets his spot back after pitting under the Safety Car or did I miss something during the race?

Though the race was somewhat lame because of Schumacher's win, it was not completely lame. There was a whole lot that happened and that made for a pretty good race. Taku drove a very good race and score his first podium. He made some passes, which was fun to watch. The launches of both Renault's was absolutely amazing. At the first corner with Alonso, I was like holy crap there come Alonso out of no where. Trulli also made a good start getting up to 11th after the first corner. Though I think what made this race pretty good was all the dramatics of the cars having problems, and numerous problems at that.

Definitely agree with you there. It is a great thing for Sato to just finish the race, much less get a podium. Button was running very well until his gearbox problems, how lame!

True... it's a little boring seeing MS win all the time. But at the same time it's pretty exciting to watch if anyone can take him down in the next race. Renault, Williams, and BAR are all getting close.

Awesome race from Sato. He climed from some 6th/7th position all the way up to 3rd during that last stint. He really deserved that 3rd place podium today.

Both McLarens finished! Hah.

And it's also good to know that Ralf appears to be okay.

Good race. On to the French GP.

Edit:
Taku explained in the press interview after the race that when MS pitted... him, button, and everyone else were following the safety car and there was a lot of debris on the track. He mentioned having to slow down a lot... almost stopping to simply avoid the debris. I guess they wer're going considerably slower than MS's pitlane speed.

How lame! Slowing because of debris . . . yet another reason why the red flag should have come out!

Yes Taku did deserve his podium today, as he finally finished a race and had a very good race.

Yes, it is amazing that both McLarens finished today; it is always a plus to have both cars finish.

It is good that Ralf is ok, and like SouL said on to the FrenchGP!

9 people finished the race...it's Monaco all over again.

A big congratulations to Takuma Sato. He finished, and on the podium too! Ferrari are cheating ! Btw, I didn't watch the race, I had bad headaches (I still have) so I couldn't stay up past 2am (it was aired here at 2:45am, but live nonetheless), but from what I hear and what you guys have said, Ralf's crash sounds quite nasty, I hope he is OK. Well done Trulli, go Renault! And go Baumgartner, he got points :D.

ps. JACK!!! McLaren finished both cars!!!

Ralf's crash was pretty nasty and they said he is not really hurt. I think they said he is bruises some and nothing real serious. Though I might be wrong. Anyone heard anything?

The official F1 doctor proclaimed "That guy's fine" before he was airlifted away with bruising and a concussion, he blacked out briefly from how the helmet slumped to the side of the cockpit as the car came to a stop. He was kept at Memorial overnight for observation but seems to be fine, according to both Formula1.com and the BMW Williams team website.

Great race, Takuma's drive was impressive but he still ran Trulli off the road, again, so no doubt he'll be sick of seeing Taku in his rear vision mirror. Button's engine was earmarked for destruction this time considering he'd just made a pitstop then they called him in before it 'destroyed itself' according to the BAR team principle, David Richards.

Ferrari once again dominate, which I'm not tiring of seeing. I was sorry Rubens didn't win and that Michael cut him off so rudely, but I suppose that's Michael. In all honesty, I think those people who cheered his retirement from the Monaco Grand Prix made a mistake, because I think it's made him more determined to win every single race simply to prove the point, he's not even letting his teammate through for the odd win like he normally does. Either way, half way to the end of 2004 and it's very red so far.

Was also pleased to see Baumgartner score a point, those guys try pretty damn hard at every race, they came oh so close at Monaco, they deserved something.

You seem to place all of the blame on Taku for Trulli running off the road. You cannot place all of the blame on him, you also have to blame the McLaren that was there also. The McLaren took up enough of the track--be it only a small part of the track--to cause a problem with the entry to the corner. Now that you mention it though, I sure would like to see the replay again of Taku's overtaking of Trulli.

You sure it was Jenson's engine failing? I thought I heard them say it was transmission problems.
