I never really understood the hate behind these movies.

I was born in 1979, I grew up with G1 Transformers in the days when they were just called Transformers! The modern films are a travesty, a travesty I tells ya!

It's just such a wasted opportunity, I don't even dislike Michael Bay, but the films could have been so much better...

Its supposed to be stupid

C_R5_575TLR once said the same thing to me outside of GTP. I can understand this standpoint. I guess the fact I didn't grow up watching it and didn't have any expectations from it is probably one reason why I enjoyed it. I respect your opinion though.

I enjoyed the first couple of films. Some additions like Skids & Mudflap were little sparks of creative genius. I caught a little bit of the last sequel with the revised cast, and the acting and general plot was a mess in comparison.

I remember Bay talking about the initial designs for the first film, and how much hate mail he received for "ruining childhoods" - I do think they executed everything from design to characterisation very well.

Characterisation of the Transformers was awful.

If they'd not have managed to maintain some of the voice characters from the 1984 film, the new ones would have been entirely dead to me.

In my day, it was about the Transformers... now they're just an excuse for a CGI wet dream in support of Shia Te'Beef's career.

.. and don't even get me started on Jetfire!

I don't know if this is really that unpopular, but music made with real instruments will always be the best type of music.

Probably not that unpopular. Music made with real instruments is definitely much better than music made with a computer.

That said, electronic music of pretty much all types is one of my favorite types of music. But a live experience will never be the same as one with people playing actual instruments.

I really don't care for Electronic, or Dubstep, or Techno, or Hip-Hop backing tracks, or whatever other genre there is that is made electronically.

But I don't mind a good song in any of those genres, but there's just so much of it that it's hard to find a good song, or the good song is just drowned out by all the bad.

Yeah...it's not the fact that you have to "work harder" to play real instruments though, because that's not true. Real instruments just sound better to me.

Also, if you want good electronic music and hip hop, you're going to have to move away from the mainstream a bit.

The only good Transformers movie directed by Michael Bay was the first one. All the others were just cash grabs and more of the same stuff. I couldn't even sit through the fourth one, it was terrible. In fact, I've watched the first movie more than the other 3 combined...

Yea I actually liked Skid's and Mudflap, they cracked me up, but their some that didn't and I can understand why. They are seen very briefly in the 3rd and I heard their was a scene cut from the movie of them being killed by Sentinel. I do wish they could have actually made a real appearance in the 3rd.

Been a while since I seen it again, it's "different", but I still enjoyed it regardless and can I just say Galvatron is awesome! :D

I don't like sunglasses. They ruin people's aesthetic appeal to me.
Change that to neck ties and then that's me. Never liked them, don't care if I never wear one again. They call it professional, I call it stupid.

Hmm much of what is in here wouldn't really be what I personally would call unpopular.

So..........how about the number of cars on the road is extremely restricted that way us cyclists won't be held up as much.

I have been mentioned so I will oblige.

I didn't grow up in the 80s, but I did watch the G1 series, as well as various others such as Animated and Cybertron.

The Bay movies never got close to being as enjoyable as these series for a few reasons:
  • Main characters are uninteresting
  • Minor characters who could be interesting just... don't get used (Jetfire being a prime example, as with Sideswipe)
  • Human characters just don't add anything, the only ones who really did were the NEST squadron
  • Too much focus on the humans which don't even add anything
  • Transformium was a thing...
  • So was the God awful MLP product placement. Transformers is bad for product placement.
  • The action sequences are just... lifeless
  • Why the hell is Megatron still alive? How many times has he died?
  • Bumblebee is a main character, and all he does is provide some sort of connection with the humans. Barricade should have kicked his arse...
There's more but that's all I can think of in that train of thought.

Also wanna note that yes, Skids and Mudflap fall under the uninteresting characters. Few jokes and an unseen death, woopee.

Edit: also wanna mention the fact that the amount of characters featured just to be figures to sell was ridiculous.

I didn't grow up watch Transformers either - i was probably a few years too old to get into it when it came out - plus the toys were trash. Piss-poor vehicles that transform into piss-poor robots seemed like a stupid concept to me - even as a 12 year old.

I didn't have any expectations of the films, in that regard. But they were trash all the same.

I think memory cards are a better system than internal storage for game consoles. I hate having to delete things in order to make space.
You make a great point, but you can always back up data on a thumb drive. Unfortunately, the game itself (and patches sometimes) is what takes up so much space these days.

This. This! THIS!

I got a 500GB PS4 for Christmas this past year, and I already have 170ishGBs left. Keep in mind I only have 4 or 5 games at this time, but that's sure to grow in the next 6 months. I hear @STI9 just did something to add memory to his PS4, and I fear I'm gonna be doing the same thing here shortly.

Sure, with memory cards you have to figure out what games are on which cards, and space was limited, but you could change them out in a matter of seconds.

Why they ever trashed this system, I'll never know.

I only use flash drives anymore. It's just so much easier.
