Update 1.03 (Released - January 14th)

Maybe PD is looking at this thread and laughing. Kaz & co are probably looking at this thread, "They're still going. Hold the update back let's see how long they complain, this is hilarious."

They have a tendency to "troll", I mean - think about it. People thought they would get good car sounds. So they gave quite possibly the best car sound to the very car everyone here hated in GT5.... and left everything else alone. :lol:

That's the official information, without any mention to what you wrote. What the advertising states is all cars will be in the same category, just some without interiors and that is what this forum called "semi-premium" (concept never stated by PD). There's no mention to "shorten the gap to some standard cars". It's all of them and not "less bad", and certainly isn't in the box

As for fully "premium" -what PD calls interiors-, very few of the former "standards" were upgraded to that status. On this "premium" note PD did fulfill what they promised (about 10 cars?), but not on standard cars as a whole to premium just without interior (800).

In other words, the advertising says the distinction is gone at least for exteriors for all cars, but as you can see and as I wrote less than 20% of GT4 and older cars were upgraded to this new made up category.
643 cars out of the ~1200 are PS1 to PS2 quality, 152 out of the ~1200 are what the advertisement says and 443 are "premium" (have interiors). Actually in the thread created to compare cars that received the treatment, it's pretty clear the exterior of "semi-premium" is not "premium" but just in between.

This forum, neogaf or anything else related is not the official info, and as you can see the game advertisement goes against what you wrote. That unless you can prove your point, because I could link plenty more sources that prove mine, the Silverstone event for instance.

Also using bold text for no reason, quoting only one phrase and quotes out of context are quite bad. The posts are #314 and onwards, which are longer and provide the context of the discussion as well. On that note the discussion was the lack of DLC thus far -another "promise" was substantial DLC every month or two (Kaz)- and that PD somehow manages to skip criticism in car count, when the competition has been trashed no matter they actually added more content than PD and that game was actually finished on time instead of releasing key features and content months to years after due to lack of time.

What Kaz has said, to my understanding, was that cars would no longer be separated by standard and premium classification - and on the website, the statement I believe you are trying to get me to read, is under the "Dealership" section. (Also labeled under "features") So, is it not purely talking about car classification and labeling - how there aren't separate dealerships and labels anymore, all features should apply to all cars? It doesn't say anything about cars being upgraded, nor the quality of the standards (aside from interiors) - But Kaz DID publicly say that there would be improvement to the quality of standard cars. Is a factual public statement from a developer on their game not some form of advertising? It's not listed on the website, I understand, you have me there.

I only quoted that one part of your post because it was the only part that didn't make sense in my eyes. I wasn't trying to take it out of context - in fact, I didn't even realize I left in a small bit, I meant to only leave the single bullet point. I wasn't going on a hard attack, either, and my bolding probably threw you off. It was intended to be a lighthearted clarification.

I still see a flaw in saying GT6 was "upgrading all" standards, when they were really just removing the classification, which imo, is slightly bigger than upgrading some to higher res.
 
Last time, 1.02 went live around 9 GMT iirc. But it could be anytime really. Updates in GT5 generally went live late night US time later on in the game's life.

Hmm, it is currently 8 in GMT (google) but the more talk about this, the more anxious I get. I think this update is too hyped, I need to de hype, maybe go watch some GT6 sound comparisons against AC.

I don't get why we are talking about the update as if it was the 2nd coming of Jesus. Although... if this update does fix 90% of our issues and gives us all the content and some, and turn water into wine, I will take back every bad remark on PD's front.

Thought mercedes repeased a memo with the VGT about beig happy that this and the E63 and A45 were in the game yet they actually arent. May be mistaken as it was a while ago.

You must remember that the AMG VGT wasn't actually "in the game" in the launch release. In a completely un-updated GT6 the AMG VGT did not exist, 1.01 brought it in. Maybe we can expect the same with the E63 and A45?

What delay? There would be a delay if there was an actual date posted for the update and the update wasn't available on that date. PD didn't say what date the update will be available so there's no delay yet. If the updates that Kaz will be available this month don't come by the end of this month then there will be a delay.

Actually in the game there is a date posted. Go to red bull events and you will see it says coming January 1st. Today is the 8th, so 7 days delay.
 
yeah I'm talking about the redbull challenge.
Asuming this challenge will be opened up via a patch, it led me here.

That just says the event will be available on the 1st it doesnt say the update will be available on the 1st. I did actually read that.
 
yeah well, the game has to somehow at least get informed (if not even recieve the content) that the 3rd and 4th round are available now. So there has to be some kind of update. Maybe it will just be an ingame update, but I posted in here because redbull challenge update also gets discussed here.
