Update 1.03 (Released - January 14th)

Well after waking up and checking into this forum, it seems that PD finally sent out a message saying that it was delayed and will be available at the end of January. But they also mentioned it will be fixed in an update, so 1.03 is confirmed then with the events I'm assuming?

"The next event will be available at the end of January and not on the 1st as currently suggested." Well obviously, took them 8 days to realize it wasn't the 1st LOL.

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. It says the message will be fixed with the next update, it will likely be a mini update.
We will still get 2 updates in january, this is what they said some time ago, I think, didn't they?

Does this finally mean we can close this thread or rename it to something accurate.

My guess would be that it was meant to say 31st and someone missed a key stroke

The news also implies that we will be getting an update before this date as it says the text will be corrected in the next update. Logically there would be no reason to update the text once the event goes live as no one would see it then.

They also said that there would be a big update in Jan maybe 2 so there is still a good chance that we will see the 1.03 update within the next week or so

I'm not predicting anymore, the last time I predicted it seemed to jinx the whole thing, so I'll go with yours

It's quite possible they don't want to detract from the VGT releases and chose to push it out...

Its also possible that the 2 updates mention in early December became one update... But it also seems they are separating events from game updates (still requiring a DL) in their release planning. This makes me now wonder if there are 3 update categories... Patch updates, event updates, and feature updates... There is a sizable feature backlog...

I would think we will get a patch first, the message even says as much just doesn't say if it will be a big update or a small one, then we may or may not get another one with the event

Not hard for me squire, done nearly all the above except for kids - 'cos I've not got any! I get notifications through so I read them and each time I read them it's yet another forum 'genius' with his amazing prediction of what has or is happening or will.

That's the thing with updates... They could merge them and we wouldn't know any better.

I'm just trying to determine how its all organized to temper my expectations.

I think its more in line with your interpretation of the update (I've not read it myself yet) where they may have a patch before events... But they could come together...

The only difference with patches is they are highly sensitive, they could break the core systems of the game and need a plan to revert back. Events are just "spreadsheets" using core values already from the game... Minus a few screens...

How you guys can't have fun in the rest of the game?

I love the S Class races, they aren't proper endurance but they serve as awesome races with the tire wear and fuel usage. Using 50-100pp weaker cars in the other races serve as interesting challenges too.

The Ascari 10 lap is my favorite one.

And I still haven't golded all the stuff... well, each one know the best way to have fun in the game. I'm still loving it. Want more content and the fixed bugs but, I'm still loving it.

It's not about not having fun in my case, it's about having no more goals at all because it's fully completed, and also, with the stockyard glitch, I can't even aspire into a collecting mood, so... all I can do is wait now.

It all sounds very sweet, but I honestly don't believe januari 1st was in the game by mistake. I have no proof of this of course, but having a placeholder date just doesn't make any sense. They could've said 'will be available in the near future' or some other typical 'Kazian' time span ('soon'?). I think they just missed their own deadline again.

It's the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at the newly remodeled Cobo Hall in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It's the most important car show in the world.

...and can we take anything PD says as Gospel? Their track record for deadlines, and telling the truth for that matter, is horrendous.
