Update 1.10 Discussion

I think one of the problems with the recent updates is they add neat features that no one expects, and we all hype over them. But then after the buzz dies down, we all remember that they still haven't addressed the majority of the standing problems, and we start moaning again. Then the next update comes, and same cycle.

I just really want an update to appear containing something huge we are asking for. Course maker. Livery editor. Early sound build. Anything like that would really impress me PD.

Same here. Maybe PD is somewhat hinting at a livery editor with the number plates.
 
At least we can do this now, or close enough no?

I'm not to happy with the newest version at all tbh. Painted brake calipers !!! I mean really the time spent on that could have gone towards something much better , like a simple dyno screen , or fixing the fact UK players are stuck with KG-FM instead of FT-LB on the read offs or even just having a choice to change it over, I mean what has painted calipers done for the game other than wow the screamers(kids) ? ...Nothing ...Wasted time PD

Palmed off again with crap.

And at this rate, if we get 1GB of video per VGT car (plus a few gigs of extra stuff), we'll end up with at least 30 GB of patches when all is said and done.

I don't want my hard drive clogged up with pointless videos, haven't driven or bought most of the VGT cars anyway, not really interested in them. At least in GT5 we had the option to download GT TV videos, now we're all being forced to have them with complete disregard to the size of our respective hard drives.

I have... just under 6GB left after this patch.

Now, I could delete GTA for an extra 8.5GB, but even then I'll have 14GB left.

I know at some point we'll probably exceed that number in future updates and I'll be stuck on an old version of the game with no HDD space left.

And what exactly would changing kg-f/m to Ft-lb's do for the game?
 
My download problem is with Ps3 and PSn and PD.
My internet is 80 MBPS down and 18MBPS up ( realtime around 10MB down and 2MB up)
wifi accespoints (three in the house) deliver 27MBPS down and 18MBPS up
The PS3?? maxed out at wifi to 18 MBPS down and 6,5 MBPS up??

My PS3 is the problem, on cable i got max 36MBPS down according to the network test from PS3.




Download time displayed by your PS3 does not match, it depends on what server you're connected.
As i could read, some people got a fast server, lots of us got a slower one, or get the error code.

I'm really impressed with the new numbers in different styles and backings on most premium cars. Do people think that this functionality took no space at all?

Are you really complaining about those speeds? I'm on 3.5mbps (Max out at approx. 415kbps DL) and the update took me 90 minutes. I'm meant to be on 12-15mbps but my ISP are 🤬...

In reality you should of been able to download it in about 15 minutes?

I never think about space, but other people do.
TonyLomas is right.

For the numbers there must be a few polygons added to the old mesh of the cars.
Texture with number is mapped on those small polygons, normally triangle polygons are used, so 2 for each number.
total of 8, but that's for the white back, also add 8 for the number itself,

These 16 polygons are not the issue.
All meshes that are replaced with the extra 16 polygons are replaced.
Lots of bytes in the replaced car models ( the mesh)

But thats speculation, we did it like that in GTA San Andreas.
 
I get around about 80 mbps, but using the Wifi my PS3 never connects at more than about 5mbps. But, I'm still grateful for today's speeds, I'm old enough to remember the days before we could flash our modem to connect at up to 56k.
 
It was a simple example of one of the things that could have been sorted out rather than adding crap that we just dont need. Weigh in all the games problems that need to be sorted and things that are much more needed like a simple dyno or better data logger ect ect ect , yet we end up with number stickers and painted calipers lol.

Its like my Series 1 RS Turbo having a blown turbo but instead of fixing it i go out and buy a new head unit ? The money could have been spent better else where .....

You dont even have a side view to see the calipers lol nothing but a wow dude look at your calipers colour its so nice ...

Your games being aimed at the younger generation who arent interested in physics or even cars but more just free running and messing around and its simple because thats where the majority of there sales come from .... Kids

Seen it happen to forza now watching GT follow suit.

Hi, i did mention that below the two screenshots.:cheers:

Main point, the wifi from my PS3 does not connect to my full wifi supply
I have this problem always, also my PS3 cable connection does not the full supply.

I guess this is also happenig with lots of other PS3 owners.
PS3 is limited...:banghead:
