Not really ‘feeling’ these new cars... the Porsche is the only redeeming one out of the list for me.... but only by a little margin.

I am really beginning to miss the crop of current gt and LMP racing cars... the point is ‘racing cars’ here... if I wanted to drive around in old classics I would go to some free roam Xbox game instead...

We need some of the newer racing cars about... the newish racing Ford GT, new racing Corvette etc, new Aston Martin racing gt or Bentley gt... any new exciting racing gt cars and prototypes... let’s hope we get Daytona or a real race track... spa or even Silverstone tracks would be ok for me...

None of that speaks against the possibility that the car might appear in GTS at some point. On the contrary, actually.
I get that but I don't see that happening for the time being until we see an upgraded standard make the transition, I'll get excited for the possiblities then. For now its only a safe bet if the car was literal PS2 quality on GT6.

The A80 supra, MR2 GT-S, NSX Type R NA1, Honda Beat, E Type Coupe and in a way the 996 GT3 were all PS2 looking cars (one of them literally last seen on the PS2). This DC2 is no different and I don't expect that to change for now. Maybe those upgraded standard cars are being done for the sequel to GT Sport, cars like the XJ220, G Nose 240Z, C10 and C110 Skylines, AE86 and various other popular cars.

This is just a theory. But with this pack resolutely including road cars that might mean with the new racing season starting the following car pack might include only or a large portion of race cars. I will agree. There are a large number of current GT3 & 4 class cars conspicuous with their absence. Even as someone who has enjoyed and defended most of GT Sport's car packs, if they didn't include them at some point in the near future, I too would be dissapointed. Let's just wait and see. For now let's enjoy what is about to arrive. The year is young. But I'll admit, PD do need to freshen up their race car list to keep me interested for the whole of this year like they did the last.

>The Aston is a race car

Yes it is, but one that will become immediately useless thanks to Gr.X

Maybe. But it's inclusion is because it is a GT Award winner. Whether that makes it competitive in the game is sadly not it's purpose, just a fortunate bonus. Maybe if they include Merc 300 SLR, Jag C-Type and Ferrari 375 at some point to compete against it will find it's place on the grid. But for now, it's inclusion is for the aforementioned reasons.

So, we have:
5 returning Premium cars (Nissan 350Z, BMW Z8, TVR Tuscan, Mustang GT350R, Dino 246)
1 standard car converted to Super Premium (Honda Integra DC2)
1 Pebble Beach Winner (Aston Martin DB3S)
2 new to the franchise cars (Porsche 356, Aston Martin DB3S)
1 new manufacturer to GT Sport (TVR)
Compared to last month's update, we had 3 new cars to the franchise (McLaren P1 GT-R, Greddy FuguZ, Ferrari F50), 4 returning Premiums (Telsa Model S, Chevrolet Corvette C2, BMW M3 E92, Pontiac Firebird), 1 SEMA winner (Greddy FuguZ) and one new manufacturer to GT Sport (Pontiac).

I understand there's a pattern there, but it could be a coincidence. I won't read too much into it when PD is constantly upgrading premium cars to super premium. With this being a priority, albeit understandable, I don't see why they wouldn't also want to upgrade polished standard cars to super premium.

This is why we love GT, the developers take risks and add things into the game that don't need to be there but make a even more important experience when you pick up a GT game, I have played all the GT games from old to new and put way over 200 hours at the minimum on all of the games and I have loved every minute of it, just hope 2019 is a better year for GT, and who knows we might still get the great updates to GT sport which is still very much alive or a new GT, never say never ;)

We still get cars from Germany, Italy, England, Japan and USA. PD doubled up on the British, German and Japanese cars. No French, Austrian or Korean additions.

Oh... oh.. annnd... we have more convertibles. :)

Mate, what I'm DESPERATE for is the 2018 Griffith in Gr.3/4/N, just to give TVR its rightful place in the Manufacturers Series as they've been in Gran Turismo since day 1 (Not to mention the Cerbera LM liveries) :D

I'm really excited for this update! The Porsche 356, TVR Tuscan and Honda Integra DC2... It's awesome! Well done PD!

Im dying to know what the 2 tracks are now. (The unannounced tracks another user spotted from the 2019 championships calendar).

How cool is that?
I have one "original" car from each manufacturer in GT1:

'69 C3(it was a '67, but close enough)

Viper GTS '02(around '96/'97 was the model)

NSX Type R

FD RX-7

Evo.IV

R32 GT-R

22B-STI(the Rally Edition is in GT1)

Supra RZ

Add that TVR(also the Integra) and all we'd need is the DB7(which I doubt PD will model).
For now, the DB11 can hold that spot.
Pretty cool.

So, now we have the silhouettes, time to make a guess on the new GT League events and races.

I am going with a "Sports Car" event in Beginner (for the TVR, A110, etc), new races in Nostalgic Cup Amateur seems inevitable with the 356, Shelby. And maybe new races in the Nostalgic Cup Professional for the new Aston Martin, or the Red Bull X2014 nations cup. A lot depends on the new track I guess.
How about new Sunday Cup events instead?

Yeah we know that the AM is a race car but by race car we meant Gr.2 DTM, V8 Supercars, Ford GTE, HSV stuff like this or for exemple some Gr.3 they were on GT5 & 6.

Time to buy a PS4 with this game :sly: who's up for some World Challenge racing once I replicate this livery

Just as a sanity check when it comes to all these „Oh I wish I‘d see this car in the next update...“ posts:

Has ANYONE predicted only ONE of the coming cars correctly??

I think it is save to say that the car choices for the updates are not completely logical. So all the „ looking at GT6“ and „ looking at the xy Motorsport Event“ really gets us nowhere. Where is that new Supra everyone saw in the update for sure? Yeah...
