Update 4/3/06 My official comp stats post 95!!!(It was the crappy Celeron processor!)

My repaired comp is sitting here at work with me. I am leaving in about an hour to go home and check it out!!! Cant wait!! FPS_Shooter I might have a chance to play FEAR with you tonight in full quality.

Here are my official video stress test stats from Counterstrike and FEAR.
Everything set on the highest settings. Please tell me if these are great, good, or bad stats.
-Counterstrike 120fps
-FEAR
1280x960

1024x768

At the 1024x768 with an average of almost 60 fps, with 60 fps being the holy grail of desired gaming fps, I'd say you're there. Try it 1600x1200 just for kicks to see what you get. :)

[Edit]
Never mind about the higher resolution, I forgot you had a LCD.
[/Edit]

Forget about the numbers, how do you like it? Does it play the way you expected it to?

Finally some great news. FEAR cant go up to 1600 or I would be trying that for sure. 👍
Im going right now to play Age of Empires 3 with Heather for a few hours. Then later tonight I will try to play Fear with FPS_Noob. Im soo happy to finally have this PC running 100%. No I can actually go thru the single player on FEAR considering Heather bought it for me last christmas.
Surround sound will be next after my race event on the 14th of this month. :dopey:
EDIT: So far my DVI cord looks exactly the same as the other cord. hhmm waste of money there.

Those are some good numbers, its great to play a game that doesnt look like a slide show.

I'm reinstalling the game so I can give you some comparisons. Will post shortly.

Well, had a session to mix down for a client, but what I found out is that I average 47 FPS at the 1280x960 with all the max settings as you do. This does goes to show that the dual cores really aren't being utilized as they could be. I'm running at stock processor speeds right now and know I could squeeze some more FPS out of it if I pushed the clock speeds, but in it's stock state, there it is. :)

I'd say for what you have into your system, you are sitting pretty good for sure.

BTW - what P4 did you get?

Oh wow so I really do have a fast computer then. :dopey: :dopey: Hearing that really makes all of this wait worth it. I played FEAR online last night in 1280 with absolutely no lag. Dang I couldnt believe the first time I shot someone to pieces with the shot gun. Their body parts blasted all over the wall, blood everywhere!! I am going to play the single player tonight so I can really enjoy FEAR in full quality. I cant wait!!
I am disappointed in the DVI cable. I really expected to see a difference but I guess not. Oh well I am very happy with the computer. The case temperature gauge seemed to stay around 82 degrees no matter how intense the games got. Not sure if that is good or not but that was the temp the case said.
I dont know exactly what Pentium 4 processor is in there. Wednesday I will be installing Solid works so I can get some of my side jobs done at home. I am soooo busy right now.
Thanks again everyone for all the replies and help to diagnose this problem. 👍
After April will be surround sound set up.

Umm... are you sure that's degrees? What's the CPU read?

Yes I am pretty sure thats 82 degrees fahrenheit. Thats what the case shows on the front. Im not sure what the CPU reads?

Thats like 28 C which is very, very good but I have a feeling its not the CPU temp, which is probably more like 35-45 C.

The case temperature will most likley always be wrong. Use something like Everest Home Edition, and it will tell you the temperature that shows up in the bios.

I had a chance to play the single player of FEAR last night in 1280x960. I am at the 2nd or 3rd level where you drop down into the hall of blood and there is a skeleton at the end that jumps up at you. While this is a good game I just dont see all the hype behind it yet. Mabey after a couple more levels it will get even more fun. The only thing amazing I have seen in the graphis is the water. Most of the water fully responds to your reactions. Besides that I havent seen anything incredible in graphics yet even set on the highest settings. Still having fun and hope the game picks up in action soon.

Here you go. There was some temp gauge looking thing on the desktop and I clicked on it. Here is what it was running. NOt sure what it means but here you go.

Those that dont know how to do the celcius to farenheight conversion it is like this. I am pretlty sure this conversion is right. I tried several numbers and it worked.
C=celcius
F=farenheight
C x 1.8 + 32 = F

Those numbers are amazing! I never thought of fear being a great game, its scary at some points, but i thought the graphics were ok. Go play FAR CRY now, that game is beautiful!

Ahem www.google.com will also convert in the search bar. :)

Type this in googles search: 29 celsius to fahrenheit

Here it is with some crossfire action going on... I would have expected better results, but here they are. I have some new ram coming that will also help.... 1280x960 everything max.

Why is it 1% under 25%?

Yeah, that's what I'm asking myself as well... I did have a Steam Download going, and 51 other processes. Like I said, not impressed at all with the numbers....but oh well..still gotta tweak a bit. I might add though that at 1600x1200 res with everything on max I was getting 201-207 FPS on the CS: Source Technology test.

I have seen videos of Far Cry for the PC and I agree that looks beautiful. Still to this day, the most beautiful game I have ever played was Kameo on the 360. So far nothing out on any system even comes close. The color and graphics in that game are beyond amazing.
I forgot to post a pic last night but after I played for an hour or so my GPU got to 41C = 105.8F That seems pretty hot or am I wrong? What is too hot?

The Intel D 350 is not the fastest Intel Dual Core CPU you know, there are faster ones with more caches.
