blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

You post was honestly the largest piece of drivel I have ever read on this site. You very obviously did not understand one word of what I wrote, not do you apparently have the capacity to understand others feelings or opinions.

I will respond to one thing: I could give 2 craps what you or anyone else has in their garage, I just want to enjoy the game ONLINE and off as was intended. When 70% of the online lobbies are money glitch, and theres nowhere to race an X1 without getting bashed into by people who got the game yesterday, that effects everyone.

Otherwise you need to go take a chill pill. Myself and Exorcet have disagreed regarding this in countless posts, but he always reads my posts gives me a measured and thoughtful response on his position. You could learn a lot by shutting up an reading.

To the cars being rare thing...the games been out for months, nothing is "rare" anymore. Cars stopped being "rare" like 2 weeks after the games release, its a pointless statement/arguement to make and only lends to the fact that you and any other clown who thinks GT5 cars shoud be "rare" are ENVIOUS/JEALOUS over a friggin video game. Any bum with enough time could grind out b-spec til lvl 35 and get the x1 in a matter of hours or a few days. Many people even finished bspec before even starting a-spec because it was much easier to do. So what should their x1's be held from them until they hit a certain lvl of a-spec so your feelings aren't hurt when you see some kid lvl40 bspec and lvl 2 aspec whoopin you with an x1 online? Gimme a break with this "rare car" crap, you're just JEALOUS of someone elses garage in a video game. And why aren't you calling for an end to the gtp marketplace then? You could find any "rare" car for trade you wanted there and didn't have to "earn" it. Did it make you cry?

On your last part...wow. You say his gameplay doesn't affect others but the cheating does, but isn't the "cheating" considered part of his gameplay?

You say "for the greater good it needs to be stopped". Good of what? You're whiney little ego that's bruised? Other than seeing people do donuts in SSR7 how do you whiners even know the people you accuse of cheating actually are cheaters? YOU DON'T! You just assume there's no way someone should have that many more cars than you so they must be a "cheater".

And they guy you responded to never said you don't have the right to enjoy leveling up the "true" way like you implied. He said you don't have the right to tell him a "right" or "wrong" way to play. I doubt he gives 2 shnikes about how you play. And he never said he wanted every car, he just wants enough to get the cars he really wants without having to grind.

It still comes down to online raceing and whiners like you letting your egos get bruised over online video games. If noones ps3 had internet you'd have no idea what anyone else did with their gt5 game and no reason to care about "cheating". If you did care still your a giant toolbag. But since people are online and you can see their garages you get JEALOUS. You think "he shouldn't have that car yet if i don't!", or "there's no way he got that without duping it" and you work yourself up and take it personally...all over a stupid online video game.

I waited in line at toys r us in 7th grade to get GT1, played em all up through GT3. Didn't get 4 or prologue because I got sick of the repetition and grinding from GT1 thru 3. I knew how tedious the game was. So I was very pleasently surprised with GT5 and the ease of getting cars I really want. I finally felt with the gifting of cars and back-up saves they hit a balance between game difficulty and ease of getting cars people really wanted. Subsequent updates have squashed that and really just took the game back to GT3 levels for me. Aside from some new cars and graphics the game is now just as tedious and mind-numbing as it ever used to be.

I mean they give freakin gift tickets when you do a race 100 times, basically admitting you have to endlessly repeat, repeat, repeat, to ever get anywhere in this game without "cheating" as you call it. Such a stupid admission by PD, resulting from a far to granduos opinion of their game. Most people who buy this game buy it because it's the closest real-life simulation to driving cars they want/love/follow, not because they want to pretend to have an online fantasy racing career like you.

And lastly, I hope all the whiners like you signed up for GT academy because if you take online racing this personally but were too lazy to sign up for GTA you're just a giant piece of crap.

Post of the thread. Bravo sir. Bravo. I have no remorse for bad game design leading to cheating. In fact it is good. If everyone just accepted what PD did and did not cheat or find exploits they would never know they are doing something that people do not like. You can be sure that the next GT game will have less grinding and a better rewards/gifting system.

I AM CHILLING! :D

lol in all seriousness, every time this discussion comes up we get 500 self centered posts about how someone has a wife/job/kids/pet monkey and wants to own and tune every car in the game. Of those 4 I have only the job and still barely have 2 hours to play a day, ....

This is what you lot dont get. I would love to get 2 hours a week to play.

Most of you just cant see things from other peoples point of view.

I don't see it on the front page yet.

I'm assuming you can still get through the wall to explore, you just can't make money by doing donuts under the S/F line?

I don't believe that is true, I just feel others have a hard time with accepting the fact others don't have to agree.

1:15 pm I typed this in another thread:

"I was online in a GT5 race, quit race, then couldn't connect to GT5 servers. It was 1:05 EST. PSN info was still up though, it is now."

So it myst have been 1pm EST that it came out for EST region.

No, it was out before then. I heard from other people here that PSN went down earlier. If you were already online you wouldn't have had it affect you until you left the online portion of the game. I've been online since the update was scheduled to start and have had no issues.

just in middle of nerd burger 4hr endurance on B-Spec but once its finished i will check if patch has been updated in europe yet. PSN is down for 11 hours and yes they do normally keep it down for that long. If u signed in before 4.05pm tho (like i did on both my ps3s) u can still acess it, but, i would guess that any patch released would have been released when the PSN store updated earlier today and so next chance to test if patch deployed would be after the downtime.
As for the date it could be australian, dont they operate on the european game/downloads?

To the haters:
I've done the ss7 glitch twice to check it out but gave up after that because it's simply too boring to waste time with. However aside from having a ton of rooms for ss7 glitching this had no effect on anyone else game play. Same as duping or whatever other method that will be found. All it does is allow people to buy more cars. It doesn't effect stats, or ranking, leaderboards etc. Preach about cars that are supposed to be rare blah blah blah etc all you want. All that means is you are jealous because someone has more make believe stuff than you and you want to cry about it . Pretend you speak for PD and talk about how they wanted the game to have longevity so they gave it a slow credit/xp system on purpose. Maybe one day you will wake up and realize it was simply a result of PD being lazy and or trying to put the actual game together at the last minute resulting in an archaic game design that has no place outside of RPGs anymore. My advice would be to pull your heads out of your asses... I promise you your Epeens will not shrink if you would actually go online and race against some of us who may have taken a shorter path to the goal. If it does then you should probably consult a doctor...by that I mean a psychotherapist because obviously you've got issues.

XOXO

Just need to point one thing out to you and others.

So apparently because I (and others) have an opinion different than yours we:

a) have a small wang
b) have no cars at all
c) need mental help
d) have all around envy for those that do.

Lets clear the air on this.

a) I haven't gotten any complaints here
b) I have all the cars my little heart desires, in fact I'm only missing 1 car I really want and it just hasn't come into the UCD yet (Jag XJ220 LM) I'm sure it will eventually.
c) because my opinion is different than yours? Seriously?
d) really no, as I said before I could care less about you and your fleet of multicolored X1s

But I love the jump to a bunch of BS when you just don't like what I have to say. Suffice it to say, I believe you guys are the ones that need help, or maybe need to get into the real world and deal with real life issues, as HERES A NEWSFLASH, not everybody agrees with what you think.

I agree as well. To be honest, I was a bit reluctant to try it out like everyone else online because I felt like it would "ruin" my gameplay experience but in all reality, it helped out. I was able to get a few of the cars I wasn't able to get before and finally reached level 30 in A-Spec. Like most, I have a life outside of GT5 and I'm not putting it on hold to "grind" constantly for hours on end just to get a 100K payout. So many people on this site constantly just B.M.W.

Ahh the "I have a life" argument. Classic.

Heres what you don't realize, just another perspective. Yes YOU don't care about the achievement, YOU don't play online. Theres enough of you as well to be a vocal group (in the 5% of all 5million+ GT5 players who are posters on this forum).

What YOU and others don't realize is just because it doesn't matter to YOU doesn't make it any less fun/important to other people. The fact of the matter is the designers made a game they intended to be played a certain way over a long period of time. People buy games to play for a challenge. Yes not everyone does, as evidenced by the fact that you an many others like you are very vocal about wanting to just be able to drive around and tune cars.

The problems being the following: (and lets ignore that yes it is not perfect) the game is designed to be played over the long term. The fact that credits are limited means they also designed it so that theres so many cars theres variation in races as everyone can't easily own every car. They designed a level system so that at a glance someone could see whether another online player is experienced or not, as well to allow the unlocking of certain events. The intention was for people to work up to certain cars and certain races, and play like this.

However then cheating comes into the mix, and everyones duping and getting every car, and you have low level players with cars like the X1, etc etc. Now rare cars aren't rare, level is just an arbitrary number. I bet their original hope was (for example) high level players could race eachother in their X1s online easily in a open lobby which is now completely impossible.

So yeah YOUR gameplay isn't affecting others but the cheats and culture of cheating IS affecting people who don't - outside of our little microcosm here -, and so for the greater good these things need to be stopped. The game isn't about YOU its about everyone, and who are you to decide whether or not its ok for someone to enjoy the achievement in beating races and leveling up, or putting the time in at higher levels enjoying the cars they have, marveling at ones they want, and eventually saving up to get them. You don't HAVE TO cheat, or HAVE TO grind, you want to, because you want every car. Not the games "fault" or other players, just your own.

So everything you just said does apply to all. You are syaing my needs are less important than your own. I liked it; it will be gone, and I will not be returning to online play most likely. But will enjoy my Ferrari 330 and Muria. Have to grind for others.

Personally, I don't have a life as I am currently laid up with a broken back from an ATV accident, but I did not find that getting up to level 30 was a grind, at all. The real grind doesn't even start until level 33 ish, and now with the upped payouts, it is simpler to get up there.

I am indifferent to the glitch, as it has no effect on me whatsoever, but I will say that if you think the grind is in the 20's, your SOL on getting to 40 now.

Now back to farming the dream car champ for cash.

Why why why does there have to be so much discussion/hate about a patch everyone knew would happen one day soon. I have my problems but I'm not ranting about them. And frankly no I couldn't care less about yours. Half the people go on about how they have lives etc and have no time to play the game. The other half goes on insulting the people that used this glitch. It's simple really. If a game is making you this angry then don't play it. Just relax, after all it's just a game :)

No, I'm saying the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Why should the game be changed or cheating be allowed when the majority of players and people don't want it and IMO it affects their online experience. Keeping in mind of course that GTPlanet is merely a tiny fraction of the actual userbase of GT5, and more than likely savvy players (like ones that would go on a forum) are likelier to know about the ins, outs, and cheats.

Realistically, I don't even think i will get to level 40 anytime soon. Max amount of time I really get to play the game is a hour and a half. The patch to fix this "cheat" isn't bothering me as much as I really don't care. Although it did help me a bit to get to where I am at. My biggest gripe is that we can't put wheels on the standard model cars. If that was fixed, I'll be happy.

Great news about the patch! This was the lamest cheat I've ever seen. It seems many feel that they have a right to have everything in a game just because they buy it. Then maybe GT5 isn't the right game for the cheaters, exploiters and those who "take advantage". Did you really think this would be a short game? Do your research before spending your money. Or, even better, create your own game where you have all available content by simply loading the menu screen. Maybe life should just twist around and be whatever some goldbrickers thinks it should be. BTW, NFS is great if you want all the cars you feel entitled to right away.

This is all just my opinion of course. Don't consider myself self-righteous, I just don't care for people who try to find ways to get what they do not deserve (then have the stupidity to try to justify it as if be able to do something makes it alright to do). If you aren't willing to put in the time, then why would you expect to be level 40?

Haha 2 groups

The Exploiters vs the Self Rightious

And yet both are filled 100% with kids (no none of you are adults because if you was you wouldnt be taking part in a pointless internet argument)

All I can say is its brilliant for the neutral who doesnt give a **** either way because we enjoy playing the game without a care in the world what other people think, only thing im bothered about is I cant get enough popcorn to keep me going through it all :D :D

A lot of piss ended up in cheerios today. It's just a game people, just a game. Never did the glitch, but only because I didn't want to waste my time sitting there holding the controller drooling out the side of my mouth all night. Got nothing against it though.

I haven't look at your post history nor care to do so, and I have no idea of your own personal involvement in such discussions. My statement was in general to the holier than thou crybabies.

However:
A) Epeen = internet ego, has nothing to do with your wang size
B) Never said people/you don't have cars. But many of the people crying are saying it's unfair because a duper/glitcher can get cars more rapidly/easily.
C) Based on the screwed up obsession that people have with how others play a game I would have to say yes.
D) If you didn't care then you wouldn't complain about what others may or may not do.

It's not BS, you just interpreted it incorrectly as personal attack and went completely defensive.

I'd say A,B, and D might as well be fact. C is my personal opinion based on some of the community's misplaced focus. I say this because I think many people are crying about what others do too much rather than pointing the finger at a poor game design like they should be. PD are the ones that screwed the game up yet a lot of the hardcore GT fans seem to think PD is infallible and as such believe things are they way they are because that's how it is supposed to be and everyone must abide by these imaginary rules. All the while saying this is how PD intended it yet we never hear anything from the horses mouth because they never speak about the flaws, their intentions, or what is being done, and only announce updates maybe a week in advance.

To much it's very similar to people blindly following religion or government without ever questioning them but rather waging war with other groups who don't share the same views...

NO, I'm not trying to start a political/religious debate either...

FYI, none of this is personal to me. I'm just bored at work and like to argue against what I feel is flawed logic. :D

I'm cool with patching the glitch on SS7 but it really should have been bundled with a serious (5-10X) increase in credit and xp payouts for endurance races and championship series. GT5's leveling system and payout schedules remain broken IMO. I don't think the majority of folks were cheating just to cheat, I think the majority were using the glitch to fix a more critical GT5 issue- poor payouts and a lame level system.

I called it lol

;)

Dya' know what's so funny about all this, we've still not had any undeniable proof that it's genuine.
One guy posted a screenshot with a suspect date and another posted one which was apparently taken in the UK but I'm in the UK and that was not how my GT.com screen looked - there were no update details at all.
How do we know these people - no offence intended - aren't just handy with Photoshop?

Does anyone actually have any undeniable proof of this being 100% genuine?
Thanks

And I as well was not responding directly to you but in general, you just happened to mention the same thing as others, that I'm somehow jealous of other peoples car count, etc etc as mentioned before.

I don't have a screwed up obsession, its called HAVING A DISCUSSION, and VOICING MY OPINION, thats what a forum is for, discussing a topic!

You (and others) however have some sort of strange obsession of creating overall attacks against peoples opinions here (ohh and let me tell you my feelings are really hurt that you called me jealous and said I have a small "epeen") instead of trying to have a logical discussion about it.

All I said was that i don't like cheating (in a nutshell) and I don't like the culture of cheating in this game. I didn't call anyone a loser or say they have problems cause they cheat. In fact if you do feel like looking, most of the time I am on the "do whatever the hell you want" bandwagon as long as it doesn't affect me.

However I can still have an opinion about it, thats all I am doing here.

Finally I have said that yes the game is not perfect, there are issues with the design but they are releasing updates fairly frequently that are addressing almost EVERYTHING this forum complains about while still keeping the game within their original parameters. I've never really seen updating like this in a PS3 game. Its still not perfect, but its getting better.
