Thanks to @Bryan Gomez for OP on Server Maintenance/Update

:gtpflag:Thank You to all of the GTPlanet users who have contributed to this thread, I have tagged users where appropriate, and verified where possible. Any item not tagged is from me.

I understand the frustration about "bugs" and glitches, I am only trying to document changes in v1.04.

There are multiple reports of crashing during update, corrupted downloads, and corrupted game data files, Please Report Updating issues

I am updating this regularly as new information comes to my attentionSleeping, Everything posted after Post #425 will be updated to OP ~0200UTC If something is factually wrong please let me know, there are several changes under question that will take more time to sort out(Tires, Camber, etc) I will update to current understanding and consensus when reliable data is posted. If you have actual data post it!

No changes to simplified interior views, though (still no hood visible like on GTPSP).

Ugly merc and a corvette that might be ok. Please let the next patch be better.
Yeah like doing a "deatiled" interior in the old AMG VGT.

I guess it hasn't been mentioned yet, the bugs with 15 minute races in IA have been fixed. I did two of them - the one on Ascari and the one on Apricot Hill. In both, I didn't mysteriously drop back several positions in the last lap of the race.

During 1.03, I had only done the Apricot Hill 15 minute race. Although, it still gave me credit for having 1st place, on the last lap I dropped from 1st, to 7th, 8th, then 11th. After this new update, it did not happen again.

Almost. They did partially fix it, but obviously didn't really test the fix. I just ran the 24 minutes of Le Mans, and found that every car that didn't cross the line before time ran out just stopped running and was classified as 1 lap down, even though several of them were only a couple of seconds behind me and 2nd place. IOW, I crossed the line to begin my 7th lap just a few seconds before time ran out. Only one AI car made it in time with me. All of the other cars stopped racing when they crossed the line and began their cool-down laps instead of battling for 1st/2nd with me and 2nd place. They would have had a good shot at it, too, since my car was really slow on the straights.

Try for a 3rd time, PD

Edit: It occurs to me that this might be behaving as desired. However, as much sense as this behavior might make in a 24-hour race, it makes little sense in a 7-lap race since it means that most of the field might be running a 14% shorter distance than the winner -- and the only way to pick a winning fuel strategy (without driving a car that completely overmatches the competition) is to know how many laps the AI cars will do. In GT5, when they ran predictably, that might have been possible. With the craptastic decision they made to have the AI drive 20% slower or faster on a given lap based entirely on trying to make sure they have the opportunity to wreck you on the last corner of the race, it's almost completely pointless to try.

I'm reporting a new glitch that has appeared after 1.04: changes to the Driving Options made in the Arcade mode Time Trial are not remembered for that car after exiting Arcade mode (at least TC and ABS, those are the ones I've checked). However, changes in TC or ABS do persist if they are made in the Free Run at the Garage.

As an example, this is how I found out: I bought a couple of cars today (in version 1.04 already), and as I generally do, I went to Arcade Time Trial to set ABS 0, TC 0 and test them. The default settings are TC=5, ABS=1, so I changed them both to 0. Later on, having used other cars, I went back to Arcade Time Trial with my new GT86 and found that it was again at TC=5, ABS=1. To verify that there was a problem indeed, I took some of my older cars that were already set as TC=0, ABS=0 to Arcade, and they showed up correctly, but any modifications that I tried would be lost after exiting the Arcade mode session.

In other words, until this is fixed, have in mind to change your Driving Options for specific cars in the Free Run mode if you want the settings to be persistant (I haven't checked yet if changes made in seasonals or online are remembered as they used to be).

Cheers,
S.

I've seen that dash tho.

It's visible in the MB shop as a fixed image, however, I don't think MB made a detailed 3D model. At least I haven't seen evidence of it. And it is certainly not something PD could or should do on their own. This is a Mercedes Benz design creation.

That's stupid as hell.

It's not. These cars are just design projects for PD. But like @GBO Possum said,

There really isn't a need for them to bother putting fake interiors into these cars, so they can focus on pumping them out to the game for all of us to enjoy.

But couldn't they throw the SLS interior in there? Mercedes was reportedly going to build 5 of them based off of the SLS.
I mean, they could but I bet the interior of the real cars (IF they make them) would be much different. I'd rather have no interior rather than a false one. I don't even use the inside view that much.

Still no AMG VGT interior!! ugh i hate that. Is there a reason?
Likely they're still finalizing it. They are going to produce five of them, after all, so they want to get it right. It's possible that we'll have to wait until the AMG VGT has actually gone on sale before we get an interior in the game.

The sound of the tires looks like are back as they were before, at v1.0.
Confort and Sport seems rubish again. Sounds like a Super Nintendo game. The sound of the racing tires seems more refined and very different than the other two types of tires.

The sounds are the same, just quieter. In 1.0 tire sounds were exactly the same as in GT5: Prologue. Yes, Prologue, not the full version. In 1.04 they are the same as in 1.01 and forward. Want proof? Try to drift and hear the scream.

To OP:

I think AI line has been improved on Apricot Hill. They tended to slow down a lot through chicane at the end, now they're going much better there.

Still, there is some huge problem with aerodynamics of stock cars. I can take Corvette C7 straight from dealership and it'll do over 230 mph - that's not normal.

Oh, and I've noticed no smoke from tires on Nurburgring Type V.

I see no reason why they wont or shouldnt have interiors, We're not talking about concepts that pd decided to add to the game but concepts that were made for the game, It would seam odd for kaz to have told them not to bother with interiors

I just noticed that when viewing a car before you buy it, it says below the paint color "Interior: Simple" or "Interior: Detailed" also known by Standard or Premium.

Not entirely a "standard/premium" indicator. Some premium cars like the VGT's have "simple" interiors while almost all open-cockpit standard cars like the old LMP's have "detailed" ones.

I bet v.05 will have a new track!
Gonna wait for that update, not starting GT6 until next update is out, 1.04 was a disappointment.

Guessing at my playing of GT6 starts again on summer when there is update 2.xx rolling out..

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere else (I have posted this in the list of glitched instruments thread as well since that seems to cover these kind of points as well), but the M4 Coupe has KPH speedo when you have MPH selected.

This was like this ever since the interior was added as far as I can tell, and has not been fixed by v1.04 as far as i can see (have rewatched some replays from before and no apparent change to the interior display even though i drive permanently in MPH).

Thought it might be helpful to mention it here.

I know this is an issue with a few cars judging by the OP, but the M4 Coupe does not seem to be included in the lists on this thread or the glitched instruments thread which is why I mentioned it.

Happy for someone to check and verify this of course, appreciate you can't just take my word for it lol.

I'm reporting a change on the Nissan GT-R supercars. It's acting a lot like a tailhappy RWD car. Don't know if anyone else noticed it. I asked a friend to test drive it to confirm it and he says the same thing.

Did I yet again (1st time after wheels bug fix) all of the sudden get better at drifting ? ,, No. In short, after 1.04 it (my Commodore SS) feels right bang in the middle between GT5 and GT6 1.03. Did PD fix the tire grip ? Most likely. Change in "on track/racing area" ? Maybe, but im not sure.

In GT5 I didn't like to setup my car for drifting. As I like the suspension to be as close to reality as possible. To get rid of the 'board' effect I set the springs as soft as it would go, and the rest on 1's, camber and toe 0's with 550pp. Never liked 'perfect drifting'. The risk in making a mistake gets the adrenalin rushing.

After the 1.04 as I mentioned before, it feels right in the middle between GT5 and GT6. The most real (on CH) it ever felt in GT history. You can't compare the street tires on race tracks in GT to how tires feel in real life. Because there are different types of asphalt street grips. Some are way too slippery like what we have mostly in Riyadh, and some are grippier like in Jeddah (another city in Saudi). I don't know if its the heat+dust=making the streets so slippery in Riyadh or what but in my V6 CTS I could get the wheels spinning from idle even with all aid's on.

So to me or players from Riyadh CH's in GT5 and GT6 is closer to real life. Ofcourse I never drifted going 245km in real life but GT6 grip feel after 1.04 is amazingly close to real life. No doubt people on GTP that race/drift on real race tracks in real life need to confirm, as you guys/girls would know better.

But in this aspect I can honestly say well done PD. Now get to work putting a horn on my Commodore lol. And flashing headlights that can be also seen by others and myself from the outside.

Almost forgot. In GT6 before 1.04 I did have to tune a lot to drift. But after 1.04 im back to stock suspension settings but toe and camber 0's, and 500pp. Edit: 506pp

I see in the OP Bathurst is mentioned. Still FPS issue coming down the hill, even in Free run bumper cam. Maybe it's better than it was with weather and other cars, but it's still poor with just the one car on track. Haven't noticed the sound glitching yet though.

Haven't you guys noticed this?

When I read the @hognhominy I thought that finally we´d be getting the NEW improved tire sounds. But no... the are worse... =(

Something wrong probably happened with the tire sounds :(

I'm hoping whatever bug is causing my PS3 to crash can be fixed with the next update. From launch until 1.03, the game was running fine. The second I installed 1.03 and 1.04, I've encountered nothing but problems.

Auto Union V16 Type C can now be painted using chrome colours(before when you tried it just gave the car very dark, solid colors).

This I'm less sure of but I think the handling has been improved a lot, before I found it undriveable but now I can put in some dignified lap times, though I still wouldn't use it in a serious race.

I also think the detail of the car has been improved like rivets and intakes on the body. Also, I don't recall the exhaust shooting flames before.
