VCRC vintage & low power :: Sunday 3pm GMT / 10am US EST

@kcheeb Oops, I hit like on your post.
But I didn't mean that I like that you have a head cold. (Or that you sleep in a fart sack :odd:)

I mean to say, I hope you feel better tomorrow & feel like racing. 👍

& @daddyo845 - I'm just messin' with ya. Because you know, it's my pet peeve this week - peeps not reading the OPs. ;)
(that I toil so much on! lol)

No worries watermelon 👍

For the record we have the same issues in S.N.A.I.L. makes you want to scream sometimes. So much effort goes in to a lot of op's and they're skimmed or not read.

You try to make it easy ... ;)

No it's fine I should have reread the op I always read the op but when I forget something instead of rereading I just asked someone instead which I shouldn't have done

Yeah well to put it in context, I was teasing @daddyo845 because we go through a lot of questions in the Mixer Makeshift Shuffle thread (and in the lobbies)...
Because it's SO different than any other organized mixed model racing that people are more familiar with, it's not the kind of series you can just skim the procedure. It's not that it's difficult to get the hang of how it works. And you really can just buy the cars, have the list, join & start racing without too much fuss or effort. But it's just that it's unfamiliar territory, and hard to sum up in a headline in the OP. Thus, the same confusion, and the same questions come up all the time.

It's really tough to make an OP that gets the salient points very concise, but also includes all the details.
Overall, I think SNAIL racing series (the league and the others) seem pretty straight-forward. So that there are people who even find those confusing or miss stuff... clearly that's just the nature of things.

I just realized you can't paint or change the wheels. A true one make race today, lol.
My money is on the blue car.
Yes, sometimes this tends to make me confused. :boggled: :nervous:
Everybody will look the same.

Actually it's not so bad in a regular race.
I find it very very problematic in oval racing though. That's why I don't like the Nascar cars. Much harder to keep track of who's where & what's going to happen.

PS: The television is in use atm, so I'll probably be signing on in about 15 minutes.

In the cars description "From 1966, the world's first single-make series, the "Gordini Cup," became the training ground for French racers and produced many top professional drivers, making this car an icon of the 1960's French motorsports scene."

So grab your funny hat, long french bread, and scarf, and if you say anything during the race do it in a French accent please!

Je ne parle pas bien en francais.

This car kicked my butt. Do I keep a little on the gas during braking? Do I
drive it like a kart? I give up.:ouch:
I put harder tires on the front (cm) that way it would push a little bit instead of the rear end breaking loose. It was a bit slower but much easier to control.

^ A little maintenance throttle is good in this car, and no turning when your weight is ok the front wheels.

Great racing everyone, I was going to try for a no-stopper too but my tires went to s:censored:t around lap 15. When I spun at the end of the bridge while going straight I decided to get new rubber. Was cracking off :31's and almost caught 3rd and 4th. Props to those who didn't stop, impressive.

That Sucks , we had a nice Battle , maybe the whole race , instead I had a Vettel like race :D

First I thought you messed Up direct behind me and rage quitted:cheers:
See you at the next Event :gtpflag:

You clearly had the edge, I was killing my tires trying to match you. Excellent trying to keep up with you though 👍. This is the second time I've been kicked from an online race now even though my PS3 is wired through ethernet and my connections 100% stable - it's an utter joke /rant end.

Catch you at the next race :) (or we can continue at my Rocket Series this evening if you're interested!)

It's one of the cars that seems to benefit from feathering (& even pumping at) the throttle. (Kind of like an MR car or heavy FR.)

Also, I tended to not shift down until after into the turn and off the throttle.
I don't know if that was the right thing to do, but it seemed to work for me.

What I mean is that I would lift off the throttle, brake, brake a bit harder, then shift down, then start on the throttle a bit, then maybe brake again and shift down again, and then get on the throttle when straightened out. :boggled:

^ That is the right thing to do. I think my spin on the bridge was because I didn't hit the brake pedal hard enough to engage them and when I downshifted the back went 'round.

This car definitely required much care to be quick... I found it best to alway brake in a straight line, very minimal throttle, brake and steering inputs and always downshift at lower rpm's.

I pitted on lap 2 after getting hit on lap 1 and managed to make my tires last until the last lap, when they just suddenly fell off the edge. I ended up losing one (should have been two) positions and quite a bit of time on the last lap.

To be honest my tires were pretty good , I pitted in 18th lap with all tires at 7 ! I'm sure that I could do it without pitting , but 1. I thought I have to Pit at least one Time and 2. my laptimes dropped from 2.31.xxx to 2.34.xxx .

Thanks for your Invitation but my wife said that I just reached my online Time for today :ill:

I can relate to that.

I could not have continued on my tires without pitting and maintained any kind of speed at all.
(I also can relate to the spousal time limitations. :dopey:)

Good racing today, fun car, though squirrelly at times. I use engine braking, then brakes, don't know if this was right.

Sorry if I bumped you one time, ChuthuluGoat, could see you were having trouble:nervous:
