I think that's what many of us like about the slower cars... that you really don't need so much practice... and at some point, too much practice doesn't do much to improve things, because of course racing with other cars is different than hot laps.
So with the slower cars... you can do a few laps, and get to know the car quickly, because it happens slower... there are few surprises.
I do encourage people to test drive the car first! (not practice - just take the car out for a spin to try it)
That way you know:
a) if you actually want to race it
b) see where it's handling is peculiar
And that's the beauty of low power racing... You don't need to invest a lot of time in preparing for ways that you can be surprised at high speed!
