Gents,

I'll send a FR for tomorrow's race, if there is an opening.
This is one of my favorite cars.

I will be in Nuovo Giallo Yellow with steel wheels.

Please confirm that you read the rules in post #1 especially about clean driving and behavior on track . Last time someone joined was a mess because he didn't understand the rules .
welcome to vcrc

Managed to equal @KingKlingeling 's 2:30.6, but I think that's about the limit for me. Might have just been a freak lap, hah -- where I actually got every corner right (especially that damn´d Rettifilio :irked: -- such a hard brake point to find every lap) . Still mostly in the 31s and occasional low 32s, especially on heavy fuel.

Curious to see what the draft does to our lap times tomorrow! :gtpflag:

It should be noted my one (and only) quick lap was deep into the run, after I think 17 laps of fuel burn so the car was pretty light; I had put on fresh shoes at the end of lap 11 so I still had good grip. Can't tell if its the fuel weight difference or not, but the second set of CSs sure felt like they had more grip than the first. (Felt the same in the Alpine race where I pitted early from next to last, and ran good enough laps to come out comfortably in 3rd before degradation kicked in.)

It would be odd if this were so, given what we know happens in the case of racing tyres; purely subjectively, second sets of comfort tyres feel better than starting sets to me.

Perhaps it's down to a balance issue with second sets? The Alfa felt looser after changing rubber, which allowed me to set up exits a bit better. Also, I thought I noticed the rears wearing more heavily, but due to being disco'ed two separate times before completing a race-distance run I can't be sure.

The draft will definitaly set our braking points elswhere :gtpflag:

Yeah. :nervous: I guess large doses of cautious early braking will be in order until we all figure out the new braking zones.

Hopefully at Variante del Rettifilio it will mean braking right at the 150m board instead of some mysterious handful of metres beyond it. :D That's my number one difficult spot on the track.... well, that and finding the right turn-in point for Lesmos II.....

You were part in the mixer makeshift shuffle events and if I remember correctly you got banned because not following the rules . Dont wanna offend you , but you ruined a lot of races in mms , what makes you think you can take part in vcrc where the same people are included ?
Just a thought

Strong work!

Well, I guess that answers that. :sly:

A reminder to everyone that I will be hosting the proceedings today in my private chambers so send me a FR on PSN, BrandonW77. If you send it after the room is opened you likely won't be able to enter so send it as soon as you can.

The room should be open by 9:45 EST.

Man that sucks, Kling. :grumpy: That was a really intense battle at the beginning -- well, through the whole race actually. Think I only got one clean, fast lap in. Only lost touch with kcheeb right at the end there, when my mistakes started to pile up.

I've never wished harder for a triple-screen setup. When it was three wide down the front straight, with me trapped in the middle.... :scared: Yikes!

I feel bad for that look up the inside at della Roggia on lap 19 or so, @BrandonW77. While I backed out of it in time, it still put you on a defensive line and cost us both time to @kcheeb and a chance at the win. Rookie mistake, should have just stayed tucked in. :(

Thanks for hosting!

That was way too much fun, regardless of the outcome 👍

Thanks @BrandonW77 for hosting and the awesome racing 👍 Bummer about lap 19 :(

@amarynceos, @KingKlingeling and @BrandonW77, man it was eye opening following you guys for the first half of the race. The Alfa was so much fun to drive before you made me realize how far you could push it. Great combination!!!

@KingKlingeling drag you had technical issues 👎

@watermelonpunch missed you out there :( Hope rl is settling down for you 👍

Thanks again everyone!

No worries, I made it worse by pushing too hard trying to get the draft back and going wide in the second Lesmos. It was a battle for the ages up to that point, one of the best I've had and impressively clean driving by all.

All my racing experience was put to use in those battles, I'm massively impressed with the quality of the racecraft displayed. I really love this Alfa and glad everyone else enjoyed it. 👍

even though its pretty fast and close in the battle for the podium , it's absolutely clean , especially today 👍
till I got my wallhack on

thats why I enjoying the vcrc , the mms and the zero cup hosted by @WarriusZero . these are the only online activities for me so far because 99% of the unorganized lobbys are full of idiots .

looking forward to the next event :gtpflag:

All,

Great race today. I had a good time, especially the first lap. I overcooked turn one on lap two having lost track of my braking point (driving my mirrors). I put it into the barriers and that is a loooooooooooong way round with a sick engine. It was pretty much over from that point.

However, I executed a safe, fair pass; managed not to hinder anyones progress unduly; and made it the whole time (but sadly not the whole distance).

Next time...

Hah, that reminds me... the thrilling race drove it clean out of my head, but I managed to crash hard today as well, fortunately not in the race but in qualifying. I dropped my left rear in the sand and looped it coming out of Lesmos II, going right into the barriers. Had to pit for repairs, lost two of my qualy laps, and barely had time for one last flying lap. :scared: Somehow managed to pull out a good time and nab pole; I'm pretty darn proud of that one, to be quite honest.

That car and track combo turned out way better than I thought it would when it was first put forth; that Alfa's a fabulous little car. It made for some spectacular racing, and as KingKlingeling said, absolutely clean even being so tight. 👍

I really like this group and have had a blast even though my driving is not yet up to par. Only one mistake today which cost me a chance to try to pick up one more position, but all things considered, I felt good.

Going forward, as a heads up, I have little experience online and though I've read all the rules and watched the iRacing videos, some things you can only learn by doing. So I guess what I'm saying, I'm still learning.

Couldn't help but take the Trans Am for a spin just now, and on Comfort Softs, it's a handful. Love the sound though.
