So who's joining the practice session today?
Want to do a head count before I open it.

Only 2 people in total? Not really worth it? Sorry, I've been preoccupied.
Do you mind if we switch the session to wednsday?

Only problem I have there is that I might be home a little bit late but still should be able to come.

Sorry haven't been on GTP till now, have been watching Bike racing all day.

Will do practice on my own and join on Wednsday, at least this race is in the light.

When you going into Army Andy?

Should the winning car be the car driven by the driver with most points? Or should we declare a winning car from the total number of points aqquired by said car, throughout the different races?

There is a difference between a winning car and being the best car. Being the best car should not contain differences in like driver skills, (bad) luck or pit strategy... So i don't mind how the winning car is chosen, to me it doesn't necessarily mean that it is the best car. We should focus on the driver(s) rather than the cars.

I'm stepping into the boots august 1st, John.

This series is called VS Racing Series for a reason. :)
Part of the point is to find the winner between rival car models.

Good luck Andy:tup:

So no more racing for a while then:gtpflag:

Well, we still have the race on saturday.
I'll try to keep hosting events, though I'm not sure how much time I'll have at my disposal. Practice sessions will be severely limited, that's for sure.

I'm just so excited an nervous for it all. :nervous: :)
Going to be quite an experience, I'm sure. Hopefully, I'll fit right in, and the army will prove to be the place for me.

Sorry :), it's my bachelor of engineering side that took over :sly:. One of the first things you learn is how to perform tests objectively, these races surely are far away from being objective. Never mind though, they offer great fun.

About your military service, do you know which division you will be in? And do you need to do an entrance examination, or have you already passed that?

The next and last practice session is on wednsday guys.
I can join around 9:30GMT ish. If I'm not there till around 10:00gmt then it's ok but after that assume I probably won't be making it. This track is my favourite so I don't need to learn it and I can pretty much adapt any car & tyre combination to it. Also I have done about 1000 miles in my 430 now so it's fair to say I know the car too.

And then I'll proceed to once again say that I'm not allowing any new entires in until our next VS event starts.

I wonder if people will sign up after the Nurburgring GP/F race too :dopey:

It's just Basic training as a conscript, so the expectations of physical strength and stamina isn't that high. If you wish to proceed with an actual career in the military (which I think I do), then you'll need to be in proper shape by the end of the 4 months.

If I could choose whatever I wanted in the military, I'd like to be a helicopter pilot in the air force or army (though the Danish army hasn't operated aircraft for quite some time). But as it stands, the Danish Air Force has a very limited amount of helicopters at their disposal, and the particular career as a pilot, hasn't been available for the last few years, and won't become available in the near future... Annoyes the hell out of me, as it has always been a dream of mine. :grumpy:

So I figured the next best thing would be a career in the army as your average foot soldier. :)
If all goes well, I'l proceed to the Danish reaction troops, with the purpose of being stationed in Afghanistan at some point. Hopefully I can do some good down there.

That's enough about me though. :)
What about you guys? I've driven with a lot of you for some time now, yet we don't know a whole lot about each other.

So, we've been playing too much Call of Duty recently     ? Anyway, I agree that we should find out more about each other and get together more 👍 . Good luck by the way. I want a career in F1 or a motorsport of some kind and I am currently saving up for my racer's license + Rotax Go-kart + professional tutoring. However, that does mean once I get some tutoring to clean up my driving skills I'll be kicking all of your 🤬 on GT5 :P . I've been go karting before.... in a rental kart  . It was pretty fast though, about 60 mph top speed or something like that. When I do go kart, I usually get a podium finish :) .

Uhmm, actually I hate Call of Duty. In fact, I hate it with a passion. It's a horrible, zero quality franchise, which has done nothing but damaging the game industry as a whole. Amazing that one franchise can have such a huge and negative impact on the entire industry. The fact that people are actually buying those games annoys the hell out of me. Really not trying to offend anyone here, but I really do question the standards of the people who buy those games year after year... They are literally paying for the same PoS every single year!

Rant over.

I've always wanted to have a career in the army, and flying a helicopter has always been the primary dream. I'm fairly well educated on Afghanistan, so I'm not considering going down there because of some silly idea of war being cool or something like that. I genuinly believe we can do some good down there, and if I can help, then I will.

A career in racing definately sounds awesome. I wish you luck.
Would be pretty awesome to all meet up one day to do a Kart race. :D
But don't you worry. We'll make sure to forever give you a run for your money in GT5 (and any future installments).

Haha this sort of does and doesn't apply to me and I sort of do and don't agree. I love Call of Duty ZOMBIES. The multiplayer and the solo I don't like and I think it's the multiplayer which you hate. if they were to make a CoD:Zombies I would buy it, if they were to make only multiplayer then I wouldn't. I think this shows in the ones I've bought. I've owned WAW and Black Ops. I intend to buy Black Ops 2 but only for the zombies. I have never and I don't intend to buy a modern warfare, I've only even borrowed MW2 for a week and I didn't like it. Not enough undead

I do remember having fun while playing zombies in WaW. Problem is, that was the only fun thing I did in that game. And even then, the Zombies game mode lacked proper game design. Other than that, I hate both the MP and SP campaign in the CoD gamse. The gameplay is exactly the same every time, with horrible AI, and guns that don't look, sound or feel like they should. Stories that are so stupid and filled with plot holes, you just don't feel like ending them. And the MP... No! I shouldn't even go there.

You're not alone, because I'm not a huge fan of the COD series either. I think that there are much better games out there that are actually worth buying. And it would also be really cool if someday we met in real life and did a kart race... and I'll still own you Andy after I become a real life racer :P .

I'm in for a kart race :). Or we could go to the Nordsleife :sly:. Or do both :dopey:

If i would have to join the army, i would have tried to become a sniper. My patient and need for accuracy would fit in i guess. But currently i work (about 2,5 year) at a large dutch truck company, at the engine test center to be precise. I my spare time i play golf, ride my mountain bike or play videogames. I used to do a lot of windsurfing, but my full time job makes that difficult nowadays.

About CoD, i played all MW series and skipped black ops and world at war. MW1 is the best from the 3, i played way to many times the butt kicking online multiplayer (yes, its really good) and was pretty good at it too. Now my interests lies with GT5, still not getting bored with it.

I'll join tonight's practise session. See you in half an hour.

Howabout doing a Kart Race on the Nordsleife!?!? :dopey:
And to make it more interesting. It should be at night, while its raining. :D

I suppose the closest thing I could ever get to being a sniper, would be as squad designated marksman. Wouldn't be a bad part of the team, actually. :)

What truck company you work with? Wouldn't be DAF by any chance?

Hmm I've done Karts, at night and at the nordsleife. But not at night, at the nordsleife, in the rain :scared:

But you cheated and you had the driving line on which glows in the dark. Doing it in karts will show us how much we know the nurburgring... Andy you need to do this for the next racing series 👍 .

I actually never use the line on GT5. It's shocking. If you brake when it's red you come to a complete stop BEFORE the corner.

You do know that you don't have to apply full pressure to get the car to stop, right? In fact it's better to trailbrake into the corner than to brake late because you will have more control over your car turning into the corner if you trailbrake compared to late braking.

Yes, DAF it is. It's the only dutch truck company of any significance. It's been taken over bij Paccar (an US company which also have Peterbilt and Kenworth) in the early ' 90's though.

Karting on the Ring? that might be fun with fast karts, plus i think you need a new spinal tap after the race with all those bumps and no suspension.
