Yes, DAF it is. It's the only dutch truck company of any significance. It's been taken over bij Paccar (an US company which also have Peterbilt and Kenworth) in the early ' 90's though.

Karting on the Ring? that might be fun with fast karts, plus i think you need a new spinal tap after the race with all those bumps and no suspension.

Don't worry, your back will be saved within the world of Gran Turismo 5 :D . It would be more fun with fast karts though...

Idea 💡 ! For the next DLC, why doesn't PD include shifter karts and/or superkarts? :)

Don't know how many of you also play games on the PC. But if you're interested, Race 07, and all its expansions, is availible for 21.50 Euros on Steam. LOVE the Steam Summer Sale. :)

I bought it, and I can vouche for the amazing AI. Though it really needs to be played with a wheel. Can't play racing games on PC without a wheel. :)
Too bad my current room isn't really set up so that I can position my Playseat in front of my PC monitor... Though this should change in about 2 weeks, when I move into my new apartment!

Anyways, looking forward to the race on saturday. Perhaps we can do a "for fun" Kart 125cc race on the Nurburg 24H layout after the race. :D

I'm looking into getting into PC Sim Racing, and I'm sure to beat you on there too Jawehawk :) . Anyway, just thought you guys would be interested in my latest Photoshopped picture:

I will be there tonight for the race, hopefully everyone will have no problems with online, during the race.

A little info about me, good to read about everybody does.

I wanted to join the RAF lots of years ago, I didn't get in. Bike racing is my main intrest, don't watch any car racing really, maybe a little GT, but not much.

Have allways played GT from PS1, I think its more of the cars that I would like to own.
I have done a couple track days with bikes and some indoor karting.

Other games I play are Birds Of Steel(W11 flight sim) World Superbikes, not really a game player, but theres no spaw killing in GT:tup:

Oh Andy I was watching some World Cup Speedway last night, don't watch a lot, but Denmark got through to the final on Saturday so there up against 3 other teams so might win World Cup:cheers:

See you all later.:)

The race is tomorrow, not tonight. :)
Denmark shall win it all!

Expect me at lobby opening time. Need to get a bit of running in on the track 👍

Good luck all, and Ferrari's!! Let's bring the pain. :sly:

Also, just a little something I'm doing with my spare time, feel free to join 👍 B Spec World Championship

Yesterday i did a practise session on my own in Andy's lounge. John joined thinking the race was yesterday evening :).

A b-spec championship? :yuck: I never get the point of adding b-spec to the GT series, it doesn't add any value to the GT series imo. Since i own GT5 i did only one, maybe two b-spec races.

Yes I miss read again:dopey:

Be there tonight:)

You guys aren't alone, I made the same mistake too. I don't think it's the fact that you misread it, for me I think it's because I'm so used to coming from school on a Friday and doing the race shortly afterwards.

I'm half-interested to be honest, it's something different from the norm but just like you I don't get the point of adding B-spec to the GT series apart from the fact to do the 24hr of Nurburgring/Le Mans the easy way.

I knew the race wasn't yesterday. I practised in Andy's lounge because there is a difference in on- or offline racing. I can drive 2:09:xxx off line pretty easy, but so far my fastest lap time on-line is 2:10:5xx. See you all tonight!

I'm only running that as something to do with my amounting spare time as I pursue a job :banghead:

No Experience = No Job

Just a heads up guys I'm running a new look Ferrari for this race :D

Is this going to be the final race in the series?

Edit: this post was suppose to be an edit not quote. Rushing whilst using the app. Sorry 👍

Edit two: Stig's coming for you!!

I'm sorry I missed this race Jawehawk, I thought it happened yesterday since most of your races are held on a Friday and therefore I spent the whole day drawing and reading. You can give me the boot from your series if you want, but if you do, let me remind you that it was a pleasure racing with you :indiff: .

P.S: If you're interested in what I was drawing, click here.

Will respond by PM.

And our last race has ended. It was quite a bit shorter than expected, though that actually comes as a relief to me, as I wasn't enjoying the race that much.

The race results are as follows. ADR_BRONCO again took the win, though he still isn't counted in the points. Well done either way. :)

Race results:
1st. Jik_Fin - Gallardo
2nd. MattieM - F430 + 26.000
3rd. Andy-Macnab - Gallardo + 1.03.000
4th. Johnwells69 - Gallardo + ?
5th.
6th.
7th.
8th.

The race started out well enough, with me chasing ADR in the 2nd lap. Then, disaster happens! Somehow, the bar that holds my Pedals for the G27, has slipped out of the seat. This meant, that whenever I attempted to accelerate or brake, the pedals would just bend down towards the ground. Obviously, I couldn't drive like this. But I couldn't use my breakes either! :scared:

So I had to use the freakin E-brake to get to a stop. And to make sure I didn't interfere with others, this had to be done on the grass...
After finally getting to a stop, I got out of my seat, and reinserted the pedal bar. In total, this must have cost me about 30-40 seconds. After that, I rarely saw anyone else, leaving me to drive the remaining 35 laps alone, with 1 exception.

The overall race results are as follows.

Overall Race results:
1st. Andy_Macnab - Gallardo - 41 points
2nd. Jik_Fin - Gallardo - 35 points
3rd. MattieM - F430 - 26 points
4th. Johnwells69 - Gallardo - 21 points
5th. GTP_Lapi - F430 - 13 points
6th. M8h3r – F430 - 11 points
7th. Allykh2882 - F430 - 9 points
8th. MSTER - F430 - 7 points

Overall, I had a good time. Though it's a massive shame that we had so few people in the races. Espicially the last one. I had a decent time in the 1st race (was somewhat boring, as I rarely saw anyone), and I absolutely loved the 2nd race. 3rd race was pretty boring aswell.

I definately need a break from the car. Overall, I think it's a very good car. It's advantages over the F430 lies in the fast acceleration from the start, and out of the corners. On top of that, it reigns superior to the F430 in 6th gear. However, I still think the F430 is better in the corners. In the Porsche curves of Le Sarthe, I couldn't keep up. And Nurburg GP/F also proved to be too much. I also dislike how unstable the car is at high speed turns.

I think the Gallardo is slightly superior to the F430 Scuderia, but in a corner heavy track, I'd give the win to the F430.

I will continue to use this thread to host VS races, though as of now, I'm not sure when I'll post the new one. I probably won't know until after I start in the Army.

Well this series was a bit of a flop for me. Only ran 1 of 3 races, thank you lag :banghead:

Well done JIK for winning the Nurburgring race, also to the Gallardo for winning the whole series.

I'll be here for your next one 👍

I can't say if i liked this race or not, it was not bad but not great either. What i do know is that i can't keep up with the Gallardo in the ferrari. I think the DS3 can't get all the potential out of the F430. After the race i drove a few laps with the gallardo, and without pushing hard i already was 0,5 sec faster compared to the F430. I like the F430 scuderia more though, it sounds better and definitely looks better.

Considering i got disconnected in first race, and driving in a sleightly slower car, i'm pleased with the overall results.

Congrats to Andy for his overall win, and both sorry and congrats to Jik for the win in last race. If i wouldn't have crashed into him at first corner he'd probably beaten ADR.

I got a little info on the next event for you all.

The next event shall have 5 races, with the first 4 being split out over two days, and with a lenght of 45-60 minutes each. These 4 races will give the standard amount of points per position. The 5th race, however, will be on a 3rd date, and will be about 2 hours long. On top of that, the 5th and last race will give double points for the position you finish in.

Hopefully, the increase in races should make for a more competitive championship. Cars are yet to decided, but I hope to be able to hos the races next month.

Welldone Andy for winning the Championship:gtpflag:

I liked this race, I got my best lap time 2.13 when I was chasing JIK, I got to 3rd at one point, till I got passed back again. Hope I wasn't to much of a road block, with the people that were bhind me:guilty:

Please put me down for the next Vs Series, but we will have to wait till your settled in the Army.:)

I like the idea of double points.

I don't really like short endurance races, especially the ones where it's possible to finish the race without making a single pitstop because it will be very obvious that the car with the most horsepower will win without giving the slower choice of car a chance. By having a longer race that requires pitstops, it means that drivers will have to manage their pace more accurately so that they don't go flying off the track or wera out their tyres too quickly.

Depending on tyre/track/car combo a 45-60 minute race could mean multiple pitstops.

Well done andy for championship!

The race was good on my part. After the first corner crash, I had to go to the pits. I lost about 35 seconds, but after that everything went well and I got dec ADR leadership position in 25 seconds. The difference was the lowest in 15 seconds, but in the end I lost my grip a little when I realized I can not get onto the ADR.

A couple of good fight, but otherwise I was quite a ride by myself.

Still having fun!

Mattie, dont worry about crash, tires seem to break at the slightest touch!

How about we have a meeting this week, say thursday, and test different cars to see what would be an idea for future events? Also a good excuse to do some on-line racing :).
