The sound, the ridicules amounts of grip, the fact that they aren't as fragile as they should be (in-game), and that they are just plain boring IMO.

I understand, but I don't think PD was going to get a license allowing the F1 cars to be as fragile as they are in real life anytime soon to be honest...

I have a few ideas for cars but I would perfer if we had a race series where we used race modified / racing cars. I don't mind street cars, it's just because we haven't done a RM series for a while.

I think I've decided on the tracks for the next event. First two races will be on Rome and Monza. 3rd and 4th race will be on Laguna Seca and Spa. And 5th race will be on the 24H layout of the Nurburg, with weather and damage enabled!

It's not written in stone quite yet, but for now, this looks like the tracks list I'm going to use.

As for the cars. We could all meet up on saturday at 11.00GMT for some testing?
I'm currently considering the Aston Martin DB9 VS the Jaguar XKR '10.

Looks like a good selection of tracks to me. I love the nurburging, i'll be going to the Ring in a few weeks. Perhaps my visit will get the Nurburgring a little bit further away from going bankrupt. The local gas station over there sure is far away from going bankrupt .

I can't join saturday btw, probably next week either as i have holiday. I'll be hot lapping the Ring tonight in Andy's or my private lounge, so if anyone wants to join is welcome to do so.

Just as a heads up, I might not be able to attend the practice/testing session tomorrow because I decided to move my rig up into the games room upstairs. m8h3r, would you mind moving and setting up my rig while you're on the subject of moving stuff ?

I'd like to say mclaren but if it is a dry Qually then we only have FP1 to go on. Granted it was Button-Hamilton 1-2 but it's still FP1. FP2 was just a mess because of the constant changing weather.

Alonso is on fire at the moment and the car seems to be there. I'll have to pick him on recent form. What's your prediction?

I went ahead and did some testing with the DB9 and XKR today. All tests performed with SH tires.

On Monza, the cars are very equal. The Jaguar manages a slightly higher top speed on here, but it evens out by the slower cornering speed.

On Rome, the DB9 seems to have the advantage. It's just easier to corner with, and it has a really nice gear ratio for Rome. I was only able to get within a few tenths of the DB9's time with the XKR.

Laguna Seca also seemed to favour the DB9 (though be prepared to change gears constantly, if you choose the DB9). And Spa I'm still unsure off.
I did not to any timed laps on the Ring.

We need to test them out in race conditions before I decide.

I've also considered a race between the Audi R8 4.2 and the BMW M5.

Yeah I watched it. I think it would have been the top Q1 time that was quickest. Because Q 2&3 were ran in the wet. All I remember from Q1 standings was Schumacher scraping 17th and grosjean being 0.001 above him in 16th.

I think kimi was 1st in Q1, don't quote me on that though
