I don't think so. I'm also in the market for a new ride, the civic was great, but im not sure if I like it that much. I had problems turning in and turning in that like quadruple apex into the front straight.

Yeah, sorry for my little outburst. I guess I was used to racing with the same guys all the time. So Ant's style was a little different for me. Just have to learn how to drive against other drivers.

I asked norm if it would be ok to run with him in the S2000. He said it would be ok. So I have to get mine to match his right?

I'm not going to force anyone to run the same colours. I mean, should you decide to be a team, by all means, your cars *may* match, but, I won't force it.

Polar, you've tried two FFs, maybe you'd like to test an FR? Maybe a Silvia family car? Or the Porsche, MG, Mercedes, or BMW? Just ideas.

I'm thinking of taking the wing off of my 135i. I do however like that the civic has a "wing". Yes, it's stupid, but it bothers me when cars race without some sort of wing. What subarus are working? I may give one of those a gander. But the civic obviously worked for me today, so I may stick with it!

Right, all of the first gen WRX STis are light enough. As for the new WRX STis, I'm not sure if they can take a strong enough diet.

Next preseason track will be a city circuit. (But not London.) Anyways, I'll do voting in the lobby, instead of here on the threads. Have a peek at the sampling of tracks.

Cool! Just got done with a 133 lapper at Charlotte on NASCAR. Really fun online (when it accually starts!) took us 20000000 trys.... One guy messed us all up...... Ohhhh and I finished that race... Grrr!!!! I got 5th out of like 7 that finished (1 just left and 1 got a "black flag" and raged big time and sent us hate mail for the remaining laps....) this being relevant because I can finish a race fine on there, gt5... Not so easy! Im going to reset my router right before the race next week! But yea I'm going to stick with the civic. Cool car (sounds cool too!) and with a half decent tune (I ran mine stock, well 2.5 2.0 camber...) and I did well so it can only stay the same, or get worse, or I can sweep a track!

Holy camber!!! :scared: I'm running 1.5 degrees less camber than you in the front, and a degree less in the rear. But, you were saying you had problems turning in? With that much camber, you have to load the tires, A LOT, before the full contact patch is available.

I think I just saved your whole tuning setup... Actually, my Civic feels really dart-y, as I so well proved in race 2, on the first race lap... I didn't know I was on mediums. Pfft. I did do REALLY well, that race, though, which was shocking!

Anyways, I too am going to clear my cache before the race. I'm not sure how much good that'll do, but, it's worth a shot. I'm *NOT* going to reset my router, because the router will disconnect me for a week, if I do that.

Yea, the 2nd race I started on mediums too. I think me and Seth waited too long to come in for softs. I was only barely able to get past Anthony. And I got 3rd! I now know how to stay out too long! But really, all the races were fun! I think that was the race when we had that 4 car battle going into the chicane before that quad apex. I remember us going 3 wide and the ahhhhh moment! I think I saved races 1 and 3s replays. I'll put some pictures up tomorrow.

I think we should all just have a photo blitz tomorrow, but, in my other thread: International Touring Car Championship Season 1 Official Race recaps

That is a better spot. It keeps this thread somewhat easy to read.

This thread is the "rules, and registration" thread. It's where we can keep track of our points, who joins, who leaves, and what the official rules are.

Alright! Oh, and mind updating the winners list? ;) and I think I'll get a really good picture of that crash, and me skating right through in race 3!!! And I really liked that formation lap to the grid spot start we did. It was by FAR the best start we had!

I agree man. WE NEED A PHOTO OF THAT. That'd be so epic. Let's take pictures of the cars lining up, in grid spots, and in turn one, directly after.

And, I'm updating the winner's list now.

Anyways, let's make the photo thread a "one-poster only" type, so, if you're a member of the Official Facebook photo group, please post the photos there, and I'll post them up, on the GTPlanet site. Otherwise, if you're not a Facebook member, or your name is Damu, you may post the photos up, but, please don't post any comments about "disconnecting," "lagging," or "internet." since I want this to be a building block for Storm (and me?) for season 2 of the Rolex series!

Grrrgg, I can't remember who all won today... Oops. To the replays!

Comments where?

Comments where?

Please don't post comments about the internet on the Official Race Recap thread. I'm going for a realistic feeling, with a journalistic take on the racing.

BTW, it's now up-to-date.

I mentioned it, actually, how much Norm and Evert surprised me. You guys did great, and you're both welcome to race with us any time you want to! I had an amazing race with Evert in race 2. I had a much faster car, due to, I think, tires. Regardless, he made that Focus just wide enough, and fast enough to stay in front of me.

That seemed to be a trend in today's races. Catching up to someone was the easy part! Passing... Well that was harder!!! If you could get a tough going into the long left hander onto the back straight, and could complete the pass before the turn, you were golden! That was SO much easier said than done though!

Yeah, and every time you get a run, the person in front slips up a bit, and you have to hit your brakes to avoid them? Oh man, racing in this series is tricky.

Anyways, I'll open a discussion about which city tracks we should allow. Should the next preseason round be Madrid reverse? Rome? Monaco? Tokyo R246 reverse? I will only say, that it should be a city track. I want people to really adjust to each other, so, I'm throwing you all into a confined space with each other. :P Haha, not really. In all seriousness, though, we're going from a high-speed track, to a low speed track, like Madrid. I think it'd offer a chance to give some different cars a different chance. Some cars might be faster through high speed corners than others.

Yea, the results will be different for sure! I'd say Tokyo or Monaco, to celebrate the grand prix tomorrow (which should be excellent!) maybe tokyo, a little more room there... We will need it!

Alright. We'll see how you feel about that, in 6 days and 15 hours.

P.S., the OP is up-to-date, as you can tell by the countdown timer. I'm about to update all of the Google documents in the OP.

EDIT** While I'm at it, this is a notable quote from our "Conduct Guidelines, section 3:"

- Standing starts will be led by the “Race Time Timer” in the top right of your screen. MAKE SURE IT’S ON.

- The head steward (MrMelancholy15) will call out a time on the Race Time Timer (RTT.)

- When the time on the RTT matches the time called by the head steward, the race begins.

This follows the warm-up lap, and will begin from the start boxes, along the pit lane. I've checked all of the tracks listed in the second post. They ALL have sufficient start boxes for a 16 player race.

Please feel free to take photos, and post them on the Facebook group, or (on this thread) here. I'll add the photos to the official race recaps thread. BTW, it's up-to-date, and I mentioned just about everyone...

Finally, I need the specs for the S2000, from norm, or FH, if norm has told FH.

That was hands down, the best start to a race I've been in!

MrMelancholy15
I loved it! But, it doesn't fit for the Rolex series, don't get any ideas...

I'm not.... I know it doesn't fit, we should do it for one of the pit stop races here though. Give a pit stop race one of each of the atarts

Well, it's an idea, but, I like the reminder "Standing starts are sprints."
"Rolling starts are races."

Keep in mind, that there will be people who gain and lose in both types of starts. It might sway your decision.

Also, to recap our goals/reminders:

TAKE PHOTOS! UPLOAD THEM HERE OR ON FACEBOOK!

If your name is norm, send me the specs for your S2000!

Tell me which city track you want to race at!

TAKE MORE PHOTOS!

Remember that there are two no-passing zones at Madrid and Monaco. These are: the chicane before the hairpin at Madrid (turn one of Madrid reverse) and the Casino hairpin at Monaco. Don't pass there! I'll get photos up soon.

Be sure that your passes are clean in first corner, first lap!

Get used to our standing starts!

I know what I'm doing after the 500!!! Lol, that is if I don't get spammed by invites for NASCAR again... I counted, 38 invites....

Good thinking!

Anyways, I updated the points table with a sample calculation, so that you all can see how it works.

You may notice that Polarbear's 93 points looks pretty close to 100. That's the idea! All points in this series are scored out of 100. First place in all three races is 33 points. 33x3=99. There's also a point for pole position. That makes 100.

For the guys that have fast connections or the guys that think they can host. We should all take the time to do a speed test through our ps3. Whoever has the lowest ping should be the one hosting.

Did anyone else see the orange Focus go 50 feet in air last night?

Yep! I saw that focus go air born! I also believe he did a barrel roll or two! If it shows up in the replay, I'll take a photo!

Lol I had no idea my suspension settings were so weird :)
From my view all cars drove nice and fluently, except there was this yellow
s2000 not showing at all anywhere but in the lobby view.

Yeah. I noticed that. Ummmm, in Race 2 (?) you and he were not able to see each other, but, were both side-by-side at the race start. So, you two drove into each other, without knowing, and your car lagged *UP* by quite a distance to avoid bending the rules of physics. :sly:

And, I honestly have no idea what "ping" is. All I know, is that no matter what game I play, I have a stable connection, and don't really get much lag.

Yes sure, same here. Problem is the distance, so me better look for races from Europe.

Yeah, I saw the Orange Focus jump 20 feet in the air as well. That was insane. I'm going to post some tunes for the cars and see if you guys like them, and you can probably tweak them to your liking.

AND now everyone that sees these tunes will be AT LEAST a second faster at the next race!:sly: You were able to get that sicrocco going way fast with a tune, and using less HP than Harrison, and he had problems keeping up with all the HP! You are one awesome tuner!

p.s- that civic r could use some of your magic! :D

Ok, this is the tune for the Civic that I have. I was able to get 53's at Cape Ring inside so far without any of the engine upgrades. The car seems to steer with the rear, as I like to call it. Almost like it has rear wheel steering and the front wheels aren't pulling as much. Tire wear seems pretty good too, after 4 laps the front tires seemed to have at least 80% of their life.
