Wed 20:30-21:30 UK Time - CLOSED - Suspended until further noticePS4

Ohh hope your feel a bit better now Sick, good race but you going quite well.

Thanks John - I struggled with concentration and lost count of the number of spins. I'm looking forward to your photos - by the end of the race my car had lost its front!

Very nice to have @Don Mejillone join us last night - he was very fast in qualifying, so I am sure could have scored a great result, but for a disconnection just before the race start. Better luck next week Don!

Big question for next week is whether DD84UK can take a clean sweep of wins. He already has enough points to win the championship - if Friday equalled his points total next week DD84UK would win on count back of wins. Note next season we are switching to the BTCC points system which will make things a bit tighter and keep championships alive until the last round.

PS Next week the 20th December will be our last championship race until we resume in the new year on January 3rd with the Ginetta GT4, however I am planning a Christmas fun race on 27th December using the Audi A1 at Bannochbrae - hope as many people as possible will be able to make that one. I will be lining up an alternative host just in case I get trapped at my Mother in law's house!

I was hoping to make it yesterday, fired up my PS4 ready as well, but couldn't make it in the end unfortunately. I didn't want to catch anything contagious off Sick anyway.

I'm quite liking the BMW so I'll try again next week. What position do I need finish in to win the championship? :P

I did read that standard PS4s struggled with Bannochbrae in the snow. This might have improved post patches. Worth checking out just in case.

It’s all about braking and especially getting good speed out of the corners.
Ah, I can see my problem. I can go fast on the straights though.

@Friday_GTRP @IBZ6L20VT Great battle early on – don't think I've ever seen live split times at 0.0 for so long!

Until I messed up!

Was a great battle the first few laps until @IBZ6L20VT made a mistake.

We had a great, fair battle up to the end of the second lap. We were wheel to wheel on the straight before Parabolica. I was on the exterior and took the same approach as on the first lap. To try and minimise the fact of being on the exterior to carry enough momentum to overtake on the main straight. It didn't go well as I was on the dirty end of the track. A tad too eager on the gas and I spun onto @Friday_GTRP.

We were then 3rd and 4th. Although letting him pass I felt quite gutted as I compromised his race. (I also thought of the horrible consequences if this happened with damage on :scared:). A few corners after he had a penalty and I easily overtook him. Then, @Alex ONeill and @richroo were having a great battle on top. Great pace from both of them. I took me a while to get the chance to overtake them.

Then just managed the pace while cheered @Friday_GTRP to recover second place, which happened around the 15 minutes mark.

A bit of a bitter taste after the race but good fun in any case.

As this is the last one of the year, I felt creative and you’re in for a treat if you access the video.

I merged on the top right corner a view of the replay cameras, making both views available at the same time.

Click HD!

Enjoy!

Hi could you tell me your fov settings please 👍. Also how did you do the video inside the video?

The FOV is based in my relative position to the screen and the size of it. So, it probably won’t work for your rig. I think mine is around 62.

There are plenty of tools on the internet to help you find your ideal FOV. In the end of the day is just a triangle. You just need to get an angle in relation to the screen.

For the video I used Share Factory, which is an app included in the PS4.

Brands never disappoints. Great and intense race. You never get a rest on this track.

@Friday_GTRP got a great start and we battled the first few corners. He put a good deal of pressure the first ten minutes. Then he did a small mistake and I took the chance to increase the gap. A few minor mistakes here and there got the battle alive, he never went further than 5-6 seconds.

I’m definitely going to miss this car. It really suited my driving style.

Congrats to @joedakiss and @IfAndOr for the great pace during the race.

Finally, thanks to @Sick Cylinder for organising these amazing races. There is a lot of work involved and I truly appreciate it!

Cheers @John Wells , was planning to sort my FOV when I get some time over the holidays so that'll be useful.

Very happy with the race lastnight, I never would have expected that result tbh. Even though it's one of my hero cars IRL, I haven't been able to get on with the M1 – the window for catching a slide is tiny, and it's so easy to overcorrect and get into a tankslapper. As a result I decided my strategy would be to drive conservatively, especially into Paddock Hill Bend, which I really struggle with! In the end it paid off – I managed to settle into a decent rhythm without any offs until the dreaded 20 min mark, when I lost concentration a few times. I'm fairly sure @IfAndOr would have caught me if he didn't DC/retire (?) – towards the end he was 2secs behind and gaining fast...

@IBZ6L20VT amazing pace (and @Friday_GTRP and Alex too), and congrats on the title. Even though I was driving fairly conservatively, I would never have thought there was another five seconds to take out of my fastest lap! Since joining the league I've really learnt how much room there is for improvement in my driving, because I'd previously only raced offline (I don't like GT3s or getting pit manoeuvred) and AI pace can be very flattering! My thanks to @Sick Cylinder for the continuous work he puts into the series that makes it so enjoyable – I've had a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes work he does and it must take ages. Shame you couldn't race lastnight, hope you manage to get your HUD sorted soon.

It was indeed a good race and a good turnout. Shame Sick missed out.

It's a real beefy car to throw around. I've changed to the raw FFB setting and with a bit of tweaking it made it easier to control.

Strangley the FFB on my wheel went haywire during qualifying and shot me into the pit exit wall! Luckily a return to the pits seemed to reset it for the race. I think it's one of those bugs.

I didn't want to set a qualifying time so I could stay out of the way of the championship runners. My race was going ok but for the constant interruptions - usually on a corner. The phone rang twice, a timer I'd forgotten about went off, the cat came in and started scratching my chair and my elderly mother (who I look after) asking multiple questions. I think I need an isolation tank. During a quieter period I did manage to get in a few good laps and was indeed slowly reeling in Joe until another distraction made me crash, so I gave up.

@joedakiss - you seemed to have got the hang of your wheel. 👍

I had to laugh at myself, Rich and Andreas doing synchronised spinning on Paddock Hill bend. :P

I've been playing around with my FOV settings very recently. I tried an internet site which for my screen (32in monitor) and position (about 3ft away) said it should be 44. That was awful though, it was like peering over the top of the wheel. I'm now running the interior view at 95 and the helmet at 85 (look to apex at 40). Both with just a little speed related movement. It gives me a view that would approximately be equal to a real car without turning my head, just my eyes, and move the seat position as required. It seems to have made me faster (when I'm not being interrupted). It's very immersive anyway. All down to personal preferences really.

Paul.

I was playing with the FOV, from one the settings above, felt like I was on the dash.:boggled:
My screen is only 32'' to, so made some changes was a bit better.
