week 3 driving skill competition - AEM S2000 @ laguna seca

If you have a lot of skill, there is no reason why you can't take the current top spot with completely stock settings while driving for only a few laps.

This is essentially what I'm saying more or less. This comp is supposed to be about driving skill. I also agree on the grip setting.

I just personally think that everything should be the same for everyone but it's not my comp to run or dictate

I cant work this car out. I keep thinking it should have way more grip with the racing tyres. And way more turn-in as well.

Great times everybody! And people are beginning to complain about the unfairness of altering the brake balance, so in the next event I will disallow changing the brake balance to make it fairer and keep everyone happy without losing participates. Thanks.

Personally, I think this brake bias is becoming a huge part of this competition. It seems to me that I probably wont be competing g any more because I don't have time to fiddle around with endless laps and setups it will require to have a crack at even the top 15 or less.

Honestly, the NO TUNING is what drew me to this and now its turning me away just as fast. I thought this was going to be about your racing line and getting a good time with the exact same car and setup as everyone else.

Just my $0.02 again...

Mate, its quite easy, if your car is oversteering (getting out of shape under braking like this AEM car set more bias to the front), I personally always have 5 as my maximum and will reduce rear.
If a car is understeering (pushes wide on corners)then set more to rear!

I would just do 5/2 4/1 for oversteer
3/5 2/5 for understeer

You wont go far wrong with them.👍

Finally clicked! I remembered my training (GT4) - I was going too fast and late into the two right handers after the hairpin at the end of S/F straight. Tidied up other corners a bit especially my braking line into the corkscrew. I had the controller sensitivity on 1 before, changed it -1 and seemed less twitchy.👍

Still plenty of room for improvement, but don't think I'll be trying again unless I get a wheel session.

Brake Balance - good idea to have no adjustments in future I think, even though it really helped me with this car. Presumably any adjustments will be disallowed, eg centre diff if there is an applicable 4WD?

Great imorovement , and yeah for all the next competition the RA menu will be disallowed so brake balance can't be altered and nor torque distribution on 4WD cars though I dont think that it can be under arcade. Cheers 👍

Didnt even think about the bb last week so drove with 5/5, but I'm all up for disallowing it. Maybe though leave it still open for non abs drivers? Should be fair I think as many cars are impossible to drive on 5/5 without abs.

Updated time. The ".129" is my best guess, I took a picture of the time and recorded the lap on my DSLR and then (along with the left side of my brain) forgot my camera this morning. I will post the picture and lap later tonight. Definitely a 1:26.1 though.
