Gave it another go today after my first try 2 days ago, i don't think i can improve it by much by the end of this week but i'll do my best :)

Some people here are seriously fast, especially those with a wheel !

Haha great time, I'm about to have a quick run to put in my first official time this week. Everybody here seems especially quick this week!

Update, i brought it down some more, 1:26:534, i still keep braking too late for the corkscrew though and that costs me a lot. :P

Going to take a break for now, i'll give it some more go's to get a satifsying result when i find time :)

Nice improvement! Doubt I'll be getting anywhere near your time!

Have done some laps now, and made a new personal best :D
Driver: no1pal
Time: 1:27.046
Transmission: Manual
Controller: DFGT
ABS: 1 (5/5)

I think I´may be able to get 1:26.5 with a little luck. I shifted at 7500 rpm.
There are some really great times here. Impressive:tup:

Great job! Looks like i've got a lot of work to do if I am going to catch you and everyone else. Was gonna try today but I am working through golding all the licenses, so I didnt manage a go today, will definetly try tomorow! :)

The tip is to, as mentioned, to change gear at 7500 rpm. You don´t need to use the second gear before the last turn before S/F. Maybe also by the corkscrew, but you must change fast up to third. This is just my experience though.
How are you doing on the licenences? I miss 13 golds myself. I haven´t tryed them for a long time. :)

My nemesis licences, is the two stopping challenges on ic/ib and that a8. I´m also one of the few here, I guess, who dislike the dirt/snow rally part of GT5. So all of those I got silvers on, and never bothered to try again for gold.
Good luck LMP787B :)

@rafnix, great time 👍

Haha cheers :) the rally ones are really easy IMO, if you need any help PM and I will offer advice for you :) would love to help :D ib1 took ageeeees to do

I'd like to participate. This looks like a great training activity. Should track be set up witg Real or Low grip reduction on track edge. I couldn't find it on here-but I'm using my phone.

How are you guys changing the brake balance in Arcade mode?

It can be changed via RA menu on wheels or on ds3 it can be changed by assigning RA menu to buttons on the remote via settings, hope that helps 👍

you need to do it in Options before you enter GT mode.

Then go to the Controller you used and assign the buttons you can reach to the 5 RA buttons.
(Active/Deactive Menu)- (Select maybe?)
(Scroll Up) (Up)
(Scroll Down) (Down)
(Increase Value) (Right)
(Decrease Value) (Left)
I would suggest the D Pad directions Mine will be in green)

It lets you mess with AB and Traction control and some other driver aids, the Brake Bias bits are at the "bottom" of the sequence. It also shows your current set up's base value as a thin line incase you go crazy altering them mid race. (You can alter the setings as you race - pick a simple bit of track)

Thanks for the support and interest, the grip is down to you, my personal preference is low, it doesn't have much effect on dry track because its designed to help simulate wet tracks when on real. Anyway hope that has cleared everything 👍

Anybody have any queries - send me a PM and I will get back to you ASAP :(

Thanks, I'll give it a go.

Current best (after maybe 6-7 laps) is 1:28.695 with DFGT manual ABS=1

Thats about what I was on with exact same set up after the same amount of laps! Anyway keep at it 👍 try setting brake balance to 8/5 cause the braking areas are relatively straight so you can afford to increase the front brakes without the brake balance. Also I don't know if you have heard but it seems the best shifting point for this car is 7500 - 8000 rpm. Good luck 👍

Did a bunch of laps and got the time below. I'll give it a shot later shifting at 8K instead of redline in hopes it will help me hit a 27.

Driver: Oshawa-Joe/Oshawa-Joe
Time: 1:28.483
Transmission: Manual (no clutch)
Controller: G27
ABS: 1
Brake Balance: (8/5)

I found brake balance 6/4 or 5/4 to be best for me. Best I could do today was 1:28.204.

I know I can do much better (I can kick my ghost's ass up to the corkscrew), but I drink while I play, so that's probably the best I'm going to get today. Hopfully I'll have time to play tomorrow.

Good fun though. Normally I don't give a **** about time trials (beyond golding the seasonal ones), but having this thread made it fun.

I guess I should fill this out properly.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you are enjoying it! Nice improvement on your time 👍

Personally, I think this brake bias is becoming a huge part of this competition. It seems to me that I probably wont be competing g any more because I don't have time to fiddle around with endless laps and setups it will require to have a crack at even the top 15 or less.

Honestly, the NO TUNING is what drew me to this and now its turning me away just as fast. I thought this was going to be about your racing line and getting a good time with the exact same car and setup as everyone else.

Just my $0.02 again...

All i could do.

Driver:Boiliehead/Esox71
Time:1:27.243

ABS:0
Brake balance:7/2

Did a few laps practicing with a manual on DS3. Got a better time and I can see where more time can be had.

DS3
ABS: 1

And I agree with smskeeter23. No aids, no changing BB.

This was my first time trying this competition and after reading through some of the posts did I realize that you can do such things! Got a bit jealous of the fine folks here who were using a feature I didn't even know existed..
I'm all for keeping default brake bias 👍

That's a big part of it too, lots of people it seems don't know it exists. To me the whole point of arcade mode is to jump in and drive as is, not go to 47 other screens to find a way to subvert, modify, or trick those settings.

Any way you stack it, changing anything from stock changes the playing field.

It would be also be good if more people used grip reduction set to real as well soon as this competition is about driving skill but I don't have a problem with it or people using different brake biases.

You don't need to fiddle around with endless laps and setups to have a crack at the top 15 or less. Firstly only brake bias is allowed to be changed and there is not many different sensible combinations to try for that. If you have a lot of skill, there is no reason why you can't take the current top spot with completely stock settings while driving for only a few laps.
