Good Competition obviously brings the best out of people.....and the times, they are a falling.

hahahahahaha...trust me I have never ever run this car/circuit combo before. I just suggested it to GoKents as something that might be cool (along with 6 or 7 other car/circuit combos)

I do know how to set the Xsara up though. I seem to be able to setup FF cars easily, why I don't know but I just can.

...and...

I like the rally racing in GT3, well all BUT Tahiti....

Give me a Lupo cup car and I'll be rocking, hahaha. Useful ain't it!

Those VW cars aren't run much....I think we need to drag out some of the cars we've left behind in this game.....just for variety.:)

Well, seems like I'm going to have to warm up this Xsara and head out for some more track time. People are running in the low 44's and some into the 43's.....that tells me that I'm at least a second behind already.

I'll second that about the obscure cars that no one seems to like.....

I think the winning Div 1 times will have T3s somehwere between 43.3s to 42.7s, maybe faster if someone nails it all.

Looking at racingline or Gt3times and seeing my own time and what the sectors I have now and what those times are someone has to dip into the 42.Xs....

Scuderia,
Not necessarily. That last corner is a killer. :irked:

I know! Trust me.

Like I said those sectors with a T3 of 43.7 posted last night is not my fastest lap, that lap has a T3 of I think 43.9 but is .35x secs faster overall because I nailed that last corner.

Still to run what I think will be a winning time one needs to cross the T3 mark at at least 43.3 or below AND nail the last corner...and have the gearing worked out for the tarmac...and stay on the ground over the roller AND...well you know....lots of "ands" with this one.

;)

You are probably right, especially if these A.R.C. boys show up for the party.

I'm going to be outclassed by more than a two seconds if that's the case. I'd better start finding some answers. :banghead:

How are you guys going so fast there!
I think that my best lap so far is something like 7.6/25.3/45.8.
I can barely make my car down 46 secs in the t3. The car just feels so slooow.. :irked:

I suck at rallying, I'm ashamed of telling my T times, I'll submit a time if I have a decent(at least 1 or 2 secs of the average times) lap.

We ran this track a ton in the ARC 2 warm-up2 race and the fastest T3 time does not guarantee the fastest lap. :mischievous:

"Did you tell"?

"Yeah, I told...."

"I thought I told you NOT to tell!"

"I told"

"You just can't keep that big mouth shut, can you?.....you just gotta tell everything you know.....which can't possibly be much!"

"But, I though you wanted everybody to know you were running 7.360 at T1....and, and 24.684 at T2......and, uh, 43.948 at T3....

"There you go again.....I thought I told you not to tell!

"Well, .....yeah sorry,....

"What,.... are we going to do this routine all night? Please, shut up!" You act like you're working for the C.I.A, ... what's wrong with you?:banghead: :irked:

Wow, I'm amazed with what a rally racing crowd exist in the online racing community. (under my nose at this very second, dozens of rally racers are gathering for a race I organized and don't even want to run. ) :odd:

Glad to see you guys are still cracking away at the times... I ran my lap of this before the week started, put in a time that was several seconds off of racingline's #1. Still a fun run though, the back side is just so smooth... too fast for me with anything besides this xsara.

Anyway, catch you all around.
Remember to include those divisions with your times. :D

RS if your having some problems, try the settings I posted earlier in the thread. Gearing is very important at this track and is probably going to be key to success. The last sector time's relevance is not as high because of this factor, depending how well you come out of the last corner and accelerate down the tarmac may dramatically effect lap times.

I've had some significant improvement since my last submission, significant for the time this weeks time table anyway.

Personal best sectors, not all in the same lap though...

T1 7.428 (dirty, just clipped the outer wall)
T2 24.569
T3 43.510 (this was on my best lap to date but I was so giddy by the T3 time I blew the final corner and drifted into the outer berm and ended up .6 over my best time...uggh)

Mild improvement in my overall time with a lap with a T3 of 43.7xx. I did tweak the suspension which seems to be better but requires me to throw it into a few corners differently, which I need to relearn. Other than that nothing special tonight. Last night was the break thru.

Indeed, no touches at all are allowed.

So somebody better get back to the racing. ;)

Who? Me?

This one ain't blowin' my skirt up.
It's been a year since I've seen this course and I'm not very good at the rally thingy.
Oh...and I hate the car.

I'll run a few and see what happens. Maybe this weekend, if I'm not called away.

Geeeeee, Ya think????

Re-read my above post. I hit the berm AFTER the T3 line, so the T3 time is clean, I blew it after that. I realize hitting anything is a no-no.

Oh and if you re-read the above post you will see that that lap is .6 slower than my best lap si it is useless anyway.

So ya....give me more credit than that. I think I know hitting anything is bad. I wouldn't submit a dirty lap, I rarely even post dirty sectors and for 10 weeks I've been a pain about keeping things above the board.

Oh and if this comment was light hearted and an off hand joke sorry for getting all wound up.....

Oliver DePlace

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah....I've heard it all before, 'I'm not to good at this track'.....I hate this car, .....I'm not to good at this thingey'! I don't know if I'll have time......Yeah, right!

Na, ...I'm not buying that routine this time......Oh, no....I'm not letting my guard down for one second......I'm watching you 'all over de' place'.

:odd: Yeah....watch him pop up in the lead when it's all said and done!:odd:  :lol:

@scud229-dont worry bro,i think they looked at your best sectors
and thought they were all in 1 lap(its what i thought until i re-checked your post)cos u said u clipped wall in T1,anyway keep it up,im sure youre gonna do well this week:)

@GT3Emp-im still a newbie to the GTP,but in the short time ive been here ive also learnt that O.DePlace only has one speed....
SERIOUSLY,SERIOUSLY QUICK:D

anyway guys ive now done 600km on this track and the Xsara is now starting to lose power so thats my lot, good luck to the rest of ya and ill see ya'll next week..;)

Good God Man! Don't have a cow!

There's no need to jump on me, when I was only trying to be helpful.

Sorry to insult your intelligence.

Good luck to you all and thanks for the fun.

Yet again I over reacted, not the first time....but ya.

My xport data is always available, so no worries.

:-)

Well, I guess it's time to work on the finer points of speed (if you can call what I'm doing 'speed') all previous times were set in automatic.

Now, I'll go to manual shift and try to maximize the shift points...
and figure out why I'm so slow through the second sector.

I'll post as soon as I figure it out.

So far, this looks like a ' crazy close' race.....I'm sure someboby will break away, but there's a bunch of drivers in a fast pack.

I hate crowds....so I aim to move 'far from the madding crowd'.:D :D :D

Results of Manual shift and gear tweaks:

T1=7.448...T2=24.582...T3=43.679

"Quite, don't tell anybody"đź’ˇ :sly:

I'm happy....I never expected to run anywhere near what I'm running.....my goals have been exceeded so far!

I guess I can just pull up under a big old shade tree, take that cooler of beer out of the trunk.... just 'chill' and watch HighonPSI, Scuderia226, LDM, GTMich, DePlace, and the pros go by.:D :mischievous:

Look at em go....round and round.....where they'll stop....nobody knows.

I'm not done yet, but getting close I think. Another slight improvement in my fastest overall time but this time it is with neat and tidy fast sectors;

7.532/24.688/43.723

I did see a T1 of 7.344 clean fly by (but lost too much on the exit and posted a 24.8 T2) and I saw a 43.499 T3 go by but yet again blew the exit onto the road. So I KNOW there is some time in there to be gain by me, I just gotta string the perfect 4 sectors in a row..easier said then done.

I've already exceeded my goal time by almost a full second so everything at this point is gravy.

;)

Scuderia229....you're starting to worry me!:boggled: ....GTMich and I are 'chillin', drinkin a few cold ones, and you're flopping around here throwing dirt in our faces. What's up with that?

You're probaby fast enough, park it and relax. :D

You know.....this thing is probably going to come down to whoever gets off the final turn into the long straight the quickest....and from there to the finish line.

Cause we're all in the same neighborhood in 'T' times. That's going to be the mystery factor.

Latest runs = 7.330....24.537...43.521.....But, so what? :banghead:
