Not a complaint, but have there not been a One Make since the start of Weekly Challenges?
Two weeks ago we had the MX-5 NA one make event, even though technically it was a two-make since it allowed the TC as well. But other than that, long time without a proper one make indeed.

As for this week:

Rerolled the Group C since it was once again the 787B, and wanted to use something different. The Jag is more than fine.

Race 1 - A112 Abarth '85 - finished tight third

Race 2 - Corvette ZR1 '09 - finished second after I spun right before finish

Race 3 - Lancer Evolution Final '15 - finished first although I don't like rally in this game.

Race 4 - LaFerrari '13 - great cars, great track and great race!

Race 5 - Alfa Romeo 155 - Italian business, slowly improving forward and finished second, 1.5s behind winner.

I wasn't driving GT7 few weeks, but finally came back to complete this week challenges and TT.
Still no many time since I decided to play games (story/sp).

And game awarded me for coming back; for daily marathon I go 6 stars ticket, 500k from it, 500k for Weekly, and 1M for silver in TT.

Here you go:

I had to guess on some of the engine mods, but I figure if you start with a 3.8L 911 engine and want to make it a race engine you would likely do some engine balancing, some head work and a forged crank. This also gave me more HP and Torque to work with when playing around with the engine computer and power restrictor to not only match the correct power figures, but to also give a big flat torque curve across the middle of the power band like a factory GT2 RS of this era had.
Thanks for sharing this. Tried it today and had a good race. It was close and came down to the last lap. The Bugatti I overtook for first at the end of the second lap but all of a sudden Tapai in the Lambo started reeling me in in the last lap. Won by a couple of seconds. Good tune and swap!

That’s exactly how my race went. Ran 3:59’s on lap 2 and 3 but the Lambo ran a 3:58 on the last lap and was about 2.5 seconds behind me at the end.

The car is a bit squirrelly in high speed turns. Like turn 1 at Le Mans can be really sketchy. I didn’t find any info online that the GT2 has an upgraded suspension over the GT3. So I didn’t add it to the build. Also, it’s totally stock downforce as well. Again, no info out there about adjustable wings or aero on the GT2. Also, the brakes are just “okay” for this particular track. But you are going 200+ mph, in a car with 700hp. I figured Porsche might throw in some better brake pads than the GT3’s.

So there were some guesses in there but I think I got the engine stats and power curve about as good as I can to match the factory car. No need for traction control as it is a pretty flat torque curve and the sport soft tires handle the power well.

Before someone posts the “Why not both?” meme, Group A was my favourite Group. I now remember why Group C been my favourite.
I finished 4th using the R92CP in PSVR2 and it was wonderful! Like the song sings, “ More more more…”. PD more of this, just like this. Forget the GT community, just make those liveries available right now and plaster the Group C championship on the World Map immediately.

HUD Off, I slowwwly progressed up the field. As the sun was going down, Zi couldn’t shake the 962 I just passed. “We” slowwwwwly caught up to the two 787s ahead and I figured I finished 3rd. Wahmp wahhhhhh. Nope! P4 for yoouuuuuu.

Ford real, the DTM events are awesome. I have fun with my various grid set ups with all those group A era cars. Group C though, the cars are just on another level as they’ve always been. So raw.

Really good week, especially thanks to the Group C race. Alsace is a fun layout for slow cars and had a nice time of day shift, little bit harder than I expected if you try to stay around 400 PP. Lightweight K-Cup is at one of my favourite Tokyo layouts and was at night which makes it even better, still would like them to enable tyres outside of CS so I could use some of my other tuned/engine swapped cars on CM/CH to get under 400 PP. Ferrari Challenge wasn't that great given it has the stupid chicane on that layout, but I did get to use my GT4 spec F8. Nissan GT-R Cup again on a good Tokyo layout and it got dark which I always enjoy, AI was pretty quick in this one too. Watkins was absolutely mega in the XJR-9, so much fun to drive with it moving around a bunch, could slide it out the slower corners and adjust it wherever I needed to. Race is quite easy given I won by over 10 seconds on RH but I'll take that any day with such a fun combo of track and car, along with again having a really nice time of day change into the evening. Would love to have some more Group C/GTP cars and a bunch more of these events, Road Atlanta and Daytona would be a lot of fun.

This weeks cars:

Another fun Friday morning drive (normal difficulty).

Alsace - Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta '38 - No modifications to the car. It was pretty slidey on those CM tires, but I was able to pull out a win. First ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202412w3-r2.jpg

Tokyo Expressway - South - Suzuki Cappuccino '91 - Added all the sports-level upgrades and a low-RPM turbo. That got me pretty close to the PP limit. Short-shifted the car around 6500-7000RPM. Easy win. Second check mark.

weekly-challenge-202412w3-r3.jpg

Catalunya - Ferrari 365 GTB4 '71 - Definitely not the fastest Ferrari in the garage, but with some SS tires and AI rubberbanding, it was a straightforward win. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202412w3-r4.jpg

Tokyo Expressway - East - Nissan GT-R Safety Car - Upgraded to SS tires for an easy win. Fourth check mark.

weekly-challenge-202412w3-r5.jpg

Watkins Glen - Porsche 962 C '88 - This was too easy. I ran the race on RS tires and was in the lead at the start of lap 5. Final ticket obtained.

I am not too enthused about the 2 Tokyo races but any time they have the Group Cs I am happy. I enjoyed the DTM race last week I had wanted to do it with my swapped Merc but I have nit really tuned it so it likes to oversteer on me. Every time I drive I think I need to work on this car then I'm like oh well I will do it another day when I have more time. So far another day has not come yet
.
This should be fun though I am going to try not use the Valkyrie this week as I usually do but if I get sleepy and I get to those really easy races it might show up

I was not fully engaged to even start these races and was about to just go OP in them when I felt a bit guilty that I was taking these for granted so I stopped in mid race at Watkins Glen and parked my Toyota GR010 back in the garage and planned out my races with cars that will fit both in purpose and power.

Gr.C @ The Glen
Driving my Mercedes I spotted an imitator in the field and promptly passed him by. (I am on the left.)

Nissan GT-R @ Tokyo
Took my Skyline 2000GT-R to the streets to thrash the kids in their new cars, proving that older models (and drivers) still have it.

Ferrari @ Cataluyna
Picked a recent acquisition in my garage and just put SS Tyres on and she handled herself well.

Kei @ Tokyo (again)
Just tiny adjustments to my Jimny and all was good. Almost caught the train.

Sunday Cup @ Alsace test.
Took my Beemer and had a Kate Bush song in my head the whole time. Running Up That Hill.
