What are you Eating/Drinking?

My parents have started buying me these to snack on because apparently eating two tubs of Ben & Jerry's ice cream on the same day is unhealthy and I keep leaving the refrigerator freezer door open when I go down at night to retrieve it.
1) Are you on sleep meds? Either you are the king of lazy or you are sleep eating. Those doors practically close themselves.

2) TWO TUBS? Did you get dumped by some guy you were absolutely in love with recently?

As for rice cakes: Get creative. peanut butter & jelly, honey, any kind of flavorings you have, whatever can go on them.

Fairly alright mixed grills they do at this here pub.

Coupled up with a couple of pints of Stella, a prawn cocktail and an apple and blackberry crumble, I got to the nice point of being painfully full when I had it last night.

So the vending machine guy loaded some of these in:

Curiosity made me try them. Smelled awful upon opening the bag, tasted ok at first (wouldn't exactly call it a "gyro" flavor), then left a nasty after taste.

Won't be getting these again.

Very tempting. Rubens?
The stores here have so many varieties we could have one a day and still probably go for weeks before having the same.
Meanwhile . . . I've heard that the Cavendish banana is going extinct - so I'm trying to develop a taste for these . . . um . . . monkey bananas:

Don't eat much sushi, but I picked up a spicy tuna roll plate for lunch. Freshly prepared at the local grocery store.

Having a huge craving for sushi a few nights ago, I popped out of my workplace at around eightish in the night and dropped into the nearby Mandarin Buffet looking for some take-out sushi. There was none on the take-out menu. I have to say the service is incredible - the host immediately led me to the buffet, asked me to pick what I wanted, and when my tray was full had it wrapped up with wasabi, pickled ginger, and decorative trimmings and charged me $6.50 for the 8-piece tray - which all in all was a nice experience. Nothing like having one's impulses satisfied so happily.
I have been seriously thinking of making my own sushi - another time-consuming hobby to add to my list of eccentricities, but one that'll actually feed me. :)

Yorkshire puddings? Or strangely shaped onion rings?

14 days ago, I had my very first avocado (raw) and it was so good, that I bought several avocados at once.

I love avocado, ever since I was a kid.

A nice, sweet variant of eating avocado is to cut it in half, remove the seed and fill the hole left by the seed with sugar. You then carefully start mixing up the whole thing up with a spoon (careful not to damage the skin) until you get a nice mash*.

Eat it directly from the skin, using it as a plate. Something like this:

*Use a nice, ripe avocato, in order to get a more creamy, buttery consistency. It also makes the whole process easier.

Strange onion rings.

@Chrunch Houston - I'm not sorry. :D
I just buy them in bulk, salted, with the skins on. It's the only consistent way of finding them up here.

I had leftover Pizzeria Libretto today. My mom came into town to visit last night, so we took her to try it. I had a slice each of margherita and duck confit. Sadly, I must've angered the pizza gods, since the only way to heat them was in a microwave. It was... unfortunate.

On our way back from Minneapolis we saw a nondescript sign that said BUFFET. How could we not try it?!?

Turns out it was German based food so I'm absolutely stuffed with, amongst other things, hamburger, potatoes, sausage, stuffing, pork schnitzel, bread pudding and apple crisp.

Rather than using sugar, I like putting in salt instead; if I have any lemon or lime juice on hand, then just a tiny bit of that to brighten it up as well. 👍

Had a salad, quinoa and Costco ribs for dinner. Out of their rotisserie rack, their chicken is tastier and is a better deal.

I also eat Avocados at least once or twice a week. Generally seen in my posted food pictures. I also like to wait until the skin is nice and dark. That means the Avocado is real ripe making it VERY easy to cut in half and de-seed. I actually have an Avocado sitting on my counter right now ready for tonight's dinner.

I read recently read that the massive seed is actually 70% of the nutrition in the Avocado. Unfortunately to eat the seed it usually needs to be processed in a blender or ground then dried into powder.

The Triple Sec decided it wanted to mix with the Baileys but the separation from the Kahlua worked well.

Having a pumpkin pie bar, some apple pie, and a glass of milk for afternoon lunch.

Made a big pot of chicken noodle soup today while watching the Talladega race. Kind of made up my own recipe, including using 2 cans of beer. :dopey: Turned out pretty good.

Had some today for lunch, made individual servings to take for lunches at work, and got a bunch to freeze for a winter meal(s).
