Only one 'achievement' this week, but hopefully a good one... after months of dripping bits of info about GT7 to my mate, he finally bought the game and has started playing it.
Although I still think that GT7 is quite flawed - and that some of the bigger flaws have yet to be addressed (or likely won't be because they're not 'flaws' as much as they are features of the game now), I still clearly have a great deal of passion for the game, which is understandable since it is an amazing game, warts and all.
GT7 doesn't get everything right - but what it does get right, it gets really right - and, at the end of the day, when you are on track, behind the wheel, and putting together a perfect lap on a favourite circuit, there is fewer better feelings - and that clearly shows when I talk about the game to my mates.

Last night I took the Audi RS DTM and tried the WTC800 at Nurb Endurance - I was struggling in places as you have to be gentle on the throttle coming out of tight corners, but I made my way up the field, making some pretty tasty (and clean) passes in the process. However, as I passed the AI Audi R8, I ran slightly wide and lost about a second, allowing the R8 to come along side. As I came back on track, side by side with the R8, I was ever so slightly ahead, and the contact with the R8 was enough to send me sideways and then spearing off into the scenery. Not having mapped the reverse button on my wheel, I lost several seconds before clumsily re-entering the race.
I ended up finishing 3rd, beating an AI car by less than 0.010 s as it ran out of fuel just before the line. I finished 31s back from P1, so I likely would not have won anyway, but the incident with the R8 likely cost me P2. Still, it was a great race, and the Endurance variation is a very welcome addition to the game.
