What did you do in GT7 today?

Only one 'achievement' this week, but hopefully a good one... after months of dripping bits of info about GT7 to my mate, he finally bought the game and has started playing it.

Although I still think that GT7 is quite flawed - and that some of the bigger flaws have yet to be addressed (or likely won't be because they're not 'flaws' as much as they are features of the game now), I still clearly have a great deal of passion for the game, which is understandable since it is an amazing game, warts and all.

GT7 doesn't get everything right - but what it does get right, it gets really right - and, at the end of the day, when you are on track, behind the wheel, and putting together a perfect lap on a favourite circuit, there is fewer better feelings - and that clearly shows when I talk about the game to my mates.

-

Last night I took the Audi RS DTM and tried the WTC800 at Nurb Endurance - I was struggling in places as you have to be gentle on the throttle coming out of tight corners, but I made my way up the field, making some pretty tasty (and clean) passes in the process. However, as I passed the AI Audi R8, I ran slightly wide and lost about a second, allowing the R8 to come along side. As I came back on track, side by side with the R8, I was ever so slightly ahead, and the contact with the R8 was enough to send me sideways and then spearing off into the scenery. Not having mapped the reverse button on my wheel, I lost several seconds before clumsily re-entering the race.

I ended up finishing 3rd, beating an AI car by less than 0.010 s as it ran out of fuel just before the line. I finished 31s back from P1, so I likely would not have won anyway, but the incident with the R8 likely cost me P2. Still, it was a great race, and the Endurance variation is a very welcome addition to the game.
Just did that race, with the RS5, in VR. The time of day along with the mist and the lingering sparks from the cars ahead. Amazing.

Perfectly put braddah' .. I couldn't have put that better myself.. that is exactly how I feel at the end of my day.. all of everything just doesn't even matter except being behind the wheel of one my prize rides just doin' it.. 70" LG, pitch dark man-cave (garage), ear buds, wife's asleep, not a care in the world.. yeah, it may not be perfect, but i'll tell ya this much.. it has my full attention, that's for damn sure..

Not today, but yesterday I tried my best turning the E30 M3 Sport Evolution into its Group A equivalent. Found it a nice period Warsteiner livery, and from what I’ve managed to learn about the technical specs of the touring car, I think I’ve just about done it justice in terms of authenticity. Thankfully, PD are pretty damn close to those specs once weight reduction and engine upgrades are appropriately applied. I like to think they had the Group A car in consideration when doing the road car. I remember Kaz saying we could ‘create our own Racing Modification’ as in the older games, so I’m glad that in doing this the end result is quite authentic.

I’ve also got the old Sierra Cossie (currently with the classic Texaco livery). I’d like to build a fleet of the old Group A cars of that era. If anyone is doing the same, or knows of anyone that’s done the same, link me up! 😄
I bought 6 RS500s meaning to do them up as touring cars, but haven't got round to it yet. Also a couple of M3s. I've been caught up with Porsche Cup cars recently, but I will get back to the 90s soon😃

Drove a bunch of different cars:
-BMW M3 E46 with the Z4 GT3 engine on Kyoto Driving Park
-Pagani Huayra on Bathurst
-BMW M2 on Grand Valley
-De Tomaso Pantera on the Nurburgring
-BMW M3 E92 on the Nurburgring
-Audi R18 '16 on Trial Mountain
-Aston Martin DBR9 on Spa
-Toyota Supra RZ '20 with a widebody on Brands Hatch

On the GTP account, I took my (Gr.4-)beater Ford Focus RS out of storage to see if it can still do Sarthe. On the first very-wet run, I screwed myself by getting too cute and trying for a 6-lap finish. The initial result screen said I finished 4th despite the first car to pit (out of 2nd) committed to pit road with 25 seconds to go and me crossing the finish line 2 seconds after the timer ran out and nobody on the track ahead of me. Worse, the final result said I finished 10th.

On the second very-wet run, I again got screwed by the pit mechanics on the second attempt to do a 6-lap run. I came into the pits with 25 seconds to go 20 seconds ahead of 2nd place and got screwed out of the win as the pit sequence triggered for me but not for him. I finally didn't get screwed on the third wet run, though I had to do 7 laps.

The 4-star Wheel of Despair was only slightly less useless than usual, giving out the low-showing 30,000 Cr. On the bright side, I can now afford the Ferrari 250 GTO, the last 20,000,000-Cr. unicorn I don't have on either account, when it comes back, most likely tomorrow night.

On the Plus account, I took the Suzuki Swift Gr.4 (the highest-PP Gr.4 available in Brand Central) to Sarthe. The bad news is both torque steer and wheel hop on acceleration are quite noticeable now (in my humble opinion, as it should be). That could be an issue in rain races. The good news is the tires lasted 7 mostly-dry laps, and my fast lap was lap 7 with no traffic (4:21.7).

The 4-star marathon roulette actually gave something useful, at least since we were allowed to sell cars. The Peugeot RCZ Gr.B I got from the ticket went for 164,650 Cr., a substantial improvement over the 97,940 Cr. it was going for 2 weeks ago.

Bought four 365GTB/4 to make ’73 Le Mans and ‘73 Daytona 24H replicas. Waiting for the Shelby GT350 to return.

Ran Tokyo in a couple new cars I haven't tried then proceeded to buy the Gr.3 cars from Ford. 4.25M credits later, I feel rather poor. Good thing the 4 star ticket gave me... an Aston Martin invite??? Aww, c'mon!

Did lots of grinding and bought my 3rd ‘97 F1 GTR to join my 3 CLK-LM. Those were the first two legendary cars I had to grind for when I first got the game in January and the 2 originals have quite a few miles now and will surely get many more. Also going to get triples of all the Group C cars. I have two Sauber C9 but only one of each of the others, thankfully they’re all quite a bit less expensive than the CLK and F1 GTR were. If the Roadster shows up I’ll have one of every car except for brand central. Got a 4-star ticket worth 10k.

Indulged in a little GT nostalgia

Attempted the Gr.1 Prototype Series race at Grand Valley with my Gr.1-spec Hyundai N2025 VGT, and got 5th without pitting. Turns out that for whatever reason, I had previously lowered the power. So I brought both the CPU and power restrictor up to 100%, and I'm still within the regulation for the event - I'll definitely give it another swing. I also bought a Nissan 240ZG, though I plan to buy a second one when it re-appears in maroon. Finally, I got a four-star ticket that had both an engine and an elusive Ferrari invite in it - the last invite I need, really - but I got a full-customize suspension instead. That said, it's for the '13 Viper GTS, and it's worth over 20k credits, so I suppose that's nice.

Bought the last of the "Three Legendary Cars", ultimately platinum'ing this game (and coincidentally GT Sport too, by finally getting to Level 50 a few hours earlier).

Did one grind at Sardegna, lapped all the AIs except Fraga, but I saw him in the last straight he crossed the finish line before his last lap, as I was finishing my race :) quite happy about that. Maybe I could lap him too, did a few minor mistakes here and there. Most laps in the 1:41s on FM6. One stop at lap 10 to refuel and that's it.

For my DW got a 4* which delivered something I was eagerly waiting since february : a Bugatti invite ! YES !!

Not enough money yet but the Veyron is not that expensive.

And I need to grind for the legendary Jaguar too.

As much as I hate the ticket stuff system I must say it does feel good when you finally get the item you been waiting for.:)

Just imagine when/if I ever get the Ferrari invite how special that's gonna be. :(

Had a good session yesterday, didnt play today as I was busy wth work.

But yesterday I did some grinding with the JAG F-TYPE GT3 car and did a horrible race on Lemans, maybe my setup was all whack only got 3rd, when usaully I win this race by a mile.

Then tackled some more CE's, first off was the Dragon Trail gardens which I did with the Peugeot RCZ, netted like 500,000cr. Then onto the main track Dragon Trail and that was trickier as the F-type loves to bounce off the kerbs.

Then I tackled the Autodromo Lake maggiore CE with the ALFA 4C Racecar and did achieve the lots of gold, except the last section being tricky to nail even thought I have done the full lap, in gold beforehand.

Once obtaning enough creds, obtained the Escudo Pikes Peak and tuned it up to 1186bhp, gave it a nice HKS livery online, and went bonkers on Rally and Route X tracks tuning and playing.

Then went for a muck about with diffrent garage cars on the Drag race with the Nissna GTR in the MISSIONS.

Funtimes! :sly:

Just done the Tokyo Expressway 600pp in the Porsche Carrera GTS (904) '64, on Sports Soft and fuel mix 1,no pit stop and won by 20 seconds. A decent driver could do better, but it was very enjoyable 👍

Est. time zone NYC :)
PST time zone (West Coast).. PDX (Portland Oregon)

.. again, we'll have to get at it soon, your choice of car, & I have a pretty good idea that you might know my choice..

Bought the Subaru BRZ STi Sport and put the LT5 Corvette ZR-1 engine into it. I upgraded the suspension, transmission and brakes before taking it out to the Red Bull Ring. I was getting wheelspin in 5th gear:lol:. After that I drove my tuned GT-R R32, Ferrari 458 GT3 and Sauber C9 around Bathurst which was a tonne of fun. I did 12 laps in the 458 GT3. I then upgraded my MR-2 with an Audi R8 engine and went to Interlagos. The car was really fast and felt a little bit unsteady on it's feet but it was quite a thrill. I also drove my tuned Dodge Viper SRT-10 around the Nurburgring and the Aventador SV around Deep Forest.

On the GTP account, I picked up the Ferrari 250 GTO, the last 20,000,000-Cr. unicorn and 2nd-last car I didn't have on either account. I then found the Ferrari FXX K is still an option at Sardegna, though one has to do fuel management beyond simply setting the FM map to 6.

The 4-star Wheel of Despair did nothing to fill the now-empty coffers, pushing out a Volkswagen Golf in Diahrr...er...Uranus Grey (same difference). I kept it for future tuning purposes.

On the Plus account, I picked up with the Gr.3 re-test at Sardegna with the Dodge Viper SRT GT3-R. It still requires FM3 to make it 5 laps, and it picked up a nasty snap oversteer. As Fraga was able to get through traffic early, I had to hound him into a third stop on my way to the 20.4-second win in 26:39.

The 4-star Wheel of Despair was its usual stingy self, giving out the lowest-possible 10,000 Cr. I might need to double up a day or two to get the last car I don't have on either account, the 1997 BMW McLaren F1 GTR Race Car.

2 grinds at Sardegna to have enough Cr. to buy the Veyron for which I finally got an invite yesterday.

The DW ticket was a 5*, which gave 100k...

Finished the extra café menu Bugatti, which gave me a 6* motor ticket, resulting in a Pagani Huayra motor...

I hesitate to grind to get the 959 & 964 before they go away, or grind for the Jag XJ13, I'll may be go for the Porsches before as they disappear soon, to reappear who knows when.

Bathurst 6H weekend. Decided to use new road cars to the game with back seats. Ran 13 of them, plus the 964(because). What was extra cool, the time was in real time. So, as I switched to the next car, time advanced on their clocks. Alphard has race suspension, race exhaust, stock CM. Good stuff.

I did a lot of things but the thing that stands out is the 2 Rallycross events in Spain. I had never done those before because I hate the dirt events in this game.

The heck is going on with the AI in these events? It’s just constant pileups.

After not playing for a week I was able to squeeze in a little time. I took the Escudo to Tokyo but it the top end speed to where I wanted so after playing with the gears for a little bit I quit and took the CLK I got from the LCD to Sardegna. That car is quick! I think I am going to have to adjust the gears as it seems to redline very quickly. I also think I might switch from med turbo to the low turbo because it seems kinda sluggish in 2nd gear. After I won there I sold the Suzuki VGT so I could buy a 2nd Escudo. I got a Bugatti invite which is one of the ones I have been wanting. I am going to have to grind to get 2 Veyrons. I might actually buy the Chiron now too.

The Jag will be back about a month after it disappears as it's one of the Trophy Three. The 964 will also be back in less than a month after it goes as it's in the UCD. The 959 might make a second appearance about a month after it goes like most of the post-launch Hagerty's cars, though the last one of 2022 (Toyota Celica rally car) was gone for well over that (and indeed, a couple weeks past where it would have been had that initial appearance been its designated spot in the rotation).

Long story short, get the 959 now.

Thanks for all those infos, I come back to the PC after some grind to get the 959, so it seems I've made the better choice without knowing the ins and outs 🤓

I have some cash left as I was only short of 14k Cr. and I've grinded Sardegna once more.

Not sure when the 964 disappears. If tomorrow I may have enough time to grind what I need (~1M8) but not sure I will have the motivation too, I have other things to do :)
