What did you do in GT7 today?

I modded my Viper GTS 02'' and tried to find a proper tune for it. I ended up with a 750PP setup which I can race against GT3 cars and win, on racing hards. I did a 6:40 on the Nordschleife and a 2:20 on Spa Francorchamps, using manual transmission H-pattern shifter & clutch on racing hards.

I felt like time travelling back to Gran Turismo 2 where I drove the actual Viper GTS racing car for hours every day. This Viper feels like the modern interpretation from the car all the way back, it even handles similarly and speed is similar too.

I think I found my favorite car in GT7.

(Note - increasing anti roll bars rear and front from 4 to 7 will increase the stability of the car but will make it slightly understeer-y in slow corners.)

So I got Grand Prix fever on Sunday and thought I would do my own support race. A 15 lap custom race around Catalunya with various PP600 cars from my garage. It has turned into a bit of an obsession and have been at it all day today as well. I had to tweak the grid and the tunes a few times to even things up and have been to various circuits. Even did a race at nordschleife but got the fuel usage wrong and that meant pitting on every lap. Still at least I could catch the AI cars when they ran out of fuel.:D
Tomorrow I'll be off to the sarthe for more fun.

Just another day in the world of GT7, well I bit the bullet and bought the ALFA ROMEO DTM 155 V6 before it dissappeared and squashed 800,000cr on it. Then had to work and grind to get my monies back but that Alfa is very sweet in an orphaned group of car category, we neeed more DTM cars PD hurry up please! :banghead:

Then today I tried to crack the 3rd human comedy race, did pretty bad with my cappucino. Then chugged on some other drift missions and got a 4 star roulette and managed to snag a Corvette C7 Gr.3 racecar to my car coleciton....Happydays! :D

Took this bad boy to Laguna and back!!! Nurburg tomorrow!

Stood on the podium at Monza a few times. Pulling 1.50.3 but I'm sure I can get a 1.48.9 once I find the right car and clean up my lap a little. Had a couple of Beetles come up beside me cuz they got a better exit, but the F-Type pulled away in the end. Pretty sure the Beetle wont be fastest this week. Hoping I can hit DR A this week so I can get more points in the TGR round 3.

Then I worked on my new Mustang Livery. It's on a Gr4 so no races to show it off on this week, I can take a little time with this one.

I still can’t get P1 on the WTC 600 round at the Nurburgring GP. I’ve tried using all three Sports compounds for my Ford Focus ST ‘15, and my best placement is third. Any ideas?

I would’ve thought that actually having a PP of nearly 600 would give me a fighting chance, but I’m usually at least five seconds behind the leader at the finish.

EDIT: You know what? I vaguely recall something like this happening in the WTC 700 championship, when I tried to use my tuned Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) against a bunch of Gr.4 cars. So I think I'm going to take a closer look at the list of typical opponents for the WTC 600, and try using something like that. I certainly could use this Nissan GT-R Nismo that I have, with minor adjustments to weight/power.

EDIT2: When I put the Focus ST '15 on Sports Hards and raised the power so that it got to around 600 PP, it ended up having over 400 HP! But when I combined more power with less grippy tires, I can't say I was a fan of the results. I also think it'll be better to save the Mustang Mach 1 '71 for the Alsace One Hour, where not only will it have a lower class of tire, but will likely have a more manageable amount of power.

EDIT3: I could also hose around with a Ferrari 458 for the WTC 600, too.

Yesterday: LM grind in a Vantage road car. 3-star ticket: 5k credits.

Today: LM grind in the trusty S15. 3-star ticket: 5k credits. 😐

Dropped 12 Million credits on an old Jag I'll never drive to satisfy the requirement for some ******** trophy. Four more Sport races to tick off for the Platinum, then I think I'm pretty much done until they finish the game.

Had a quick blast on The Crew 2 yesterday too, and got sucked into the new treasure hunt content for a couple of hours. This is a game that's four years old and that I got the platinum for over two years ago and yet it still sucks me in and keeps me entertained in new and interesting ways. So glad to hear there's a native PS5 version coming out soon and they've committed to another year of content for it.

You hear that, PD? Content - that's the reason people keep coming back. How about we get some for GT7, eh? To be at the point of getting the Platinum and not having completed a single championship Gp.2 or Gp.1 race; only one event with a single-seater; nothing that requires my hard-earned S-licence; the fact that there's only currently one event for Interlagos, one for Monza, one for Kyoto, one for Mount Panorama... regardless of the technical achievement or the visual detail, the game just feels so weak, so hollow. Such a disappointment.

Got the 3 legendary cars trophy.

Still got to do 49 Sport races to get platinum, but I just dislike Sport mode since they changed the penalty system in GT Sport. I guess I will do them eventually, but I am not in a rush.

Did the daily mileage , have saved the exciting Star Prize for a future date to open when i'm broke and need 5,000cr .

In the meantime ...........

Logged into the invite page today , after a short wait , I managed to buy the Digital Version .

Hopefully by the weekend i'll have the Console the game downloaded and all my save progress transfered to the New console........

I love my PS5, it's so quiet compared to my pro. Only time I hear it is when a disc is spinning up.

My Pro only goes into Loud mode during the screen pages , during a race it's very quiet . Still it's nice to know the PS5 is quiet .

I haven't actually used my pro in a while, but my kids have. It gets pretty loud some times, might be time to rip it open, give it a clean and repaste it again.

Bought the 911 GT1.

Did a broze lap (7 minutes on the dot) of Nordschleife in Circuit Experience. It’s a track I’m nowhere near learning completely, let alone mastering. But I’m going to keep trying, because a genuinely fast lap at the ring must be one of the most rewarding achievements in motorsport.

Got a 1 star ticket. Yay.

I’ll probably spend a bit of time in the 911 GT1 now 🙂

Did the AMG cafe menu, was great fun in an M3 ‘03 tuned to 600pp rather than 700 but it highlighted how poor the AI is.

Gold on another licence test on 2nd try, slipstream mission 1st try, gold Tsukuba 1 lap cx 2nd try and got in a 350z for tomorrow.

2 4* tickets - 10k cr and an invitation for the Citroen which I already have. Ho hum.

Considering how slick the rest of the game is even on my lowly old PS4, the racing is pretty poor. I know this isn’t news to anyone but it really highlighted to me the biggest flaw in GT. Do we really need more scapes if we can’t have a decent race without hunting one out, running the gauntlet online or engineering one on custom races?

Saying that I do still love the game and am enjoying taking it at my own pace and not grinding or doing races with overpowered monsters. Making car collecting central appeals to my nature and I can see myself sticking with this for a while yet.

Got to finally play on the weekend for the first time in almost a month. Did some Toyko grind, bought the Alfa 155. Then just did a bunch of world touring 700 and gr 4 races to complete those. Did the Spa 1 hour with the CLK LM and got caught out by the second round of rain. Went from Wets to inters and aquaplaned all over the place. Did some more grinding and bought the Ford Mk IV for the second jewel in the trophy crown. Just need the Jag but won't be able to play/grind this week.

What is the tyre strategy for the Spa 1hr WTC 800 event?
