What did you do in GT7 today?

On the Plus account, I tried to hustle through the Weekly Challenges before Thanksgiving dinner:
  • Grand Valley in 4:51 with a Suzuki Jimny XC tuned to 383 PP
  • Tokyo in 7:12 with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV tuned to 561 PP
  • Catalunya in an unclean 5:16 with a stock (other than dirt tires) Lamborghini Urus
  • Lake Maggiore in 10:54 with a stock Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport
The Mazda LM55 VGT has promise at Sarthe, but I couldn't finish before I had to leave. The 3-star Wheel of Despair (2nd in a row on this account; 4th in a row overall) puked out the 2nd-low-showing 10,000 Cr.

Did my first three 60 minute custom races with my new Honda RA272 grid, Catalunya, Brands Hatch and Red Bull Ring. Great fun and paid well. Getting the fuel/tire wear strategy right was the toughest. Settled on F7/T9 to get one pit stop in 60 minutes, this car goes forever on fuel 🤷🏻‍♂️

I managed to fight off the food coma long enough to complete the Weekly Challenges on the Plus account. After hundreds of miles of failure due to crashes and off-track excursions, I finally got a win at Sarthe in 15:48 with the Mazda LM55 VGT.

I also cashed in the 6-star ticket from the new Extra Menu for the middle-showing/lowest-possible 500,000 Cr. and bought the 5 new cars.

Took the Zonda R to Spa determined to win the 1 hour race on Hard mode. Track knowledge is a non issue for me, so if I lose here, it's either the tuning, the car just is not capable of winning, or I'm not good enough at tuning to make it win.
But...tuning is my house!
I found the ticket was to ditch the racing transmission. The manual is actually easier on tires. I set the car for max efficiency and max grip at the expense of acceleration. I didn't really care what the top speed was. I was turning 7 laps per tank consistently. Last lap I lost concentration for a split second and spun on the Kemmel, but recovered and won by a narrow 1.4 seconds.
Then I cracked my head in utter futility on the Nations Cup Celebration Race. I'm OK behind the wheel, but ever since my first RC and slot racers I've been an outstanding builder and tuner.

I took the new Merc to LeMans and came in 2nd place because I made a pit stop error. It started raining on lap 4 so I switched to wets and I thought the rain would last until the end of the race. It didn't so going into lap 7 I tried to make with one of rears used up. Bad choice I spun out quite a few times and allowed the AI to pass and ended up on 2nd. I bought a couple of Escorts got parts from my 4 ⭐ 🎫

I swear, I spent over 40mins on the online time trial featuring the Porsche Mission X @ RBR trying to break into gold range, but I couldn't do it. That said, I did improve my time, insofar that I feel highly confident in getting a silver prize.

Oh, and before that, I thought I'd knock out the new Porsche Cup round at Laguna Seca, if only to also get a six-star parts ticket as well. Got a carbon prop shaft, though I can't immediately remember what car it was for. I used my tuned 911 GT3 (997) and got a clean P1, but what I didn't know was that apparently the newly-added 911 Turbo S (992) isn't just turbocharged (whereas the 992-generation GT3 RS is NA) it's also 4WD, whereas the 992-generation GT3 RS is RR.

Made a helmet design concept combining my ‘regular’ helmet design with a “Star Trek” themed design I did a while back… came out okay I think…

(The “Star Trek” themed thing comes from the three colors, command red, engineering yellow and science blue)

Ran the Special Event Spa Gr.3 race. This may have been mentioned already but it seems if you re-run the race without actually collecting on your first win, it keeps building the pay-out. I ran it twice and received 1M credits once I finally went to the rewards screen. Not sure where 500K p/ 15 minutes lands on the grind scale but wanted to mention. 👍

Nope, it gives you 1st place credits + 2nd place credits + 3rd place credits once you win it. You would have got that 1M after the first run already.

Thank you for clearing that up...was an Olympic hopeful for a minute and hadn't gotten back to it. That saves me some time, lol!

I did the weekly challenge and got 5k car from a 3⭐🎟️. Bought 3 Escorts and 3 MR2s. I saw some nice liveries for the Escort that like and wanted to download them and apply them. Also I think I want to do a Cosworth custom race with the Sierra vs the Escort so got get at least 10 of both

-Stuffed around in the COTW lobby
-Engine swapped my Giulia Sprint and drove it around Autopolis
-Drove my BMW M6 GT3 around Monza
-Bought a C7 ZR-1 and drove it around Road Atlanta

Started driving my unused cars in the "Quick Race" at the Nurburgring and I noticed something and I don't know the driving rules/ customs in Europe/ Germany and I ask this question. Why do the AI use their directional signals when I am behind them and about to pass? I see this behavior at the Nurburgring races with road cars. I will post video soon...

Yeah the AI seems to treat the ’race’ as a tourist drive for some reason, signaling when a faster car (the player) is behind them. It’s weird as it’s supposed to be an normal race…

They have copied it from the convention at the Touristenfahrten at the ring, where people use their indicators to signal which side they are going when they are passed by a faster car.
It's a bit silly in races though.

Actually is very good to know when I ever get to go to the Ring, an item on my bucket list...

Highly recommended!
Be aware though that in the weekends there are many red flag situations, so you may have to wait significant time if you are unlucky.

Haven't played today yet, but I'm likely gonna tackle that special race that ties into the GTWS Grand Finals Nations Cup, featuring the X2019 at the Nurburgring. Especially since I already did the race featuring Gr.3 cars at Spa-Francorchamps. But before that, maybe I'll do two more weekly challenge races since I've only done that newly-added Porsche Cup round at Laguna Seca, if only to nab the 150k credits.

Knocked-out the CE for Spa and Daytona...might spend the day doing nothing but those. The big ones are done, now it's on to the tracks that I'm just not a fan of. Top of the 'pile' being Fuji. I don't like Fuji. At all.🤣

So after roughly 3.5 attempts, I got gold for the special Nations Cup tie-in race featuring the X2019 @ the Nurburgring 24h layout. I didn't do too much else - except buy a spare Skyline GT-R (R34) and 458 Italia since the examples I already have for each model had widebodies, so I wanted to have stock versions.

Oh, and I also took my swapped Honda S800 and made a livery for it - it was originally red, and I repainted it Tahitian Green Pearl. I think it looks great, IMO, especially with the various stickers making it look like a club racer. Perhaps I take it into scapes, take at least one decent photo, and show you all what it looks like. I've already raced with it, too, albeit without a livery. It's got the widebody and a rear wing, but it's also very fun to drive despite not even hitting 200HP with my current settings; I had tinkered with the power and weight to get it just below 550 PP.

Feb 21, 2023 a new update drops & with it comes. Extra Menu No. 17: Collection: Porsche 911 Carrera RS.
Needed a Porsche invitation to complete the collection... Six Hundred & Fifty days ago. I have been one patient boy.
Got it at bloody last... Hooray.
Won a 6-star roulette ticket for an engine swap after completing the menu... Awkward silence.

got the most dominating win at 30 min le mans in a long time with my XJ220'92 with engine swap i swapped tires at the right time during my 1st scheduled pit stop then swap back to hards after lap 5 there was a caution in front of me for an ai hitting a wet spot and spinning out on the final lap and an ai car ran out of gas during lap 3.

-Drove the Mercedes 190 E, Mercedes W196 and Ford Escort RS Cosworth around Sardegna A
-Did the Red Bull X2019 time trial
-Drove the Audi R8 LMS Evo II and BMW M6 GT3 around Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa

I had a good session today, I did some weekly races and retried the Mission X Red bull TT and didn't improve my time. I will keep trying!

Had some fun doing the limited Mazda MX5 race at Fuji!

Also had nice Japanese battle race at Trial mountain with my NSX!

Really look forward ot the Hyundai Ioniq 5N. BUT WHY JANUARY?? Whyy...

On the GTP account, I bought a Volvo estate and put the monster V8 in it as it returned to the UCD. I then used the provided Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3 at the Spa (faux) Manufacturers Cup to curb-stomp the normal-difficulty competition in 14:12.

The Nations Cup at the Nurburgring was much tougher; it took hundreds of miles of restarts and using TCS 1 to get a close win in 13:21. The 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the 2nd-low-showing/lowest-possible 10,000 Cr.

I did the same thing on the Plus account, only reversing the order and taking, respectively, a very-dirty 13:28 and 14:11. The all-cash 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the 2nd-highest-showing 30,000 Cr.

Couple of weeks away:

Seeing the Macclaren F1 back in the legends after a bit of time away I did Tokyo as a warm up in a Nissan GTr and then strapped into my Nissan 200sx with the LS7 engine swap and went to LeMans, burned a set of racing hards in the first two laps put on wets as it was looking quite wet for lap3. Dropped to second place whilst in the pits, came out it wasn't wet wet but raining (dark blue radar), caught and passed the Viper at the first Chicane as he quite literally couldn't stop, put in a fast enough lap but had creamed the tyres totally in a single lap, so much so that the final corners where full on opposite lock. Track was saturated at this point nearly to 75% so put on more wets and went steady in laps 4 and 5. Tyres where gone again by the end of 5, so pits again this time medium slicks and going steady. Tip toed to the end of 7 to win by 20 seconds. Four sets of tyres ruined in 7 laps.

CRB and my existing funds gave me enough to buy the F1, ticket for the Macclaren collection gave me 1m credits.

Is it just me or did the GT/PlayStation servers just crash? I was in the middle of a race, got kicked out for no connection and now I can't even log back into GT7.

Update: now I get error E2-CE210610

Update 2: looks like my ISP decided to die
