What did you do in GT7 today?

On the Plus account, I tried to hustle through the Weekly Challenges before Thanksgiving dinner:
  • Grand Valley in 4:51 with a Suzuki Jimny XC tuned to 383 PP
  • Tokyo in 7:12 with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV tuned to 561 PP
  • Catalunya in an unclean 5:16 with a stock (other than dirt tires) Lamborghini Urus
  • Lake Maggiore in 10:54 with a stock Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport
The Mazda LM55 VGT has promise at Sarthe, but I couldn't finish before I had to leave. The 3-star Wheel of Despair (2nd in a row on this account; 4th in a row overall) puked out the 2nd-low-showing 10,000 Cr.

Did my first three 60 minute custom races with my new Honda RA272 grid, Catalunya, Brands Hatch and Red Bull Ring. Great fun and paid well. Getting the fuel/tire wear strategy right was the toughest. Settled on F7/T9 to get one pit stop in 60 minutes, this car goes forever on fuel 🤷🏻‍♂️

I managed to fight off the food coma long enough to complete the Weekly Challenges on the Plus account. After hundreds of miles of failure due to crashes and off-track excursions, I finally got a win at Sarthe in 15:48 with the Mazda LM55 VGT.

I also cashed in the 6-star ticket from the new Extra Menu for the middle-showing/lowest-possible 500,000 Cr. and bought the 5 new cars.

Took the Zonda R to Spa determined to win the 1 hour race on Hard mode. Track knowledge is a non issue for me, so if I lose here, it's either the tuning, the car just is not capable of winning, or I'm not good enough at tuning to make it win.
But...tuning is my house!
I found the ticket was to ditch the racing transmission. The manual is actually easier on tires. I set the car for max efficiency and max grip at the expense of acceleration. I didn't really care what the top speed was. I was turning 7 laps per tank consistently. Last lap I lost concentration for a split second and spun on the Kemmel, but recovered and won by a narrow 1.4 seconds.
Then I cracked my head in utter futility on the Nations Cup Celebration Race. I'm OK behind the wheel, but ever since my first RC and slot racers I've been an outstanding builder and tuner.

I took the new Merc to LeMans and came in 2nd place because I made a pit stop error. It started raining on lap 4 so I switched to wets and I thought the rain would last until the end of the race. It didn't so going into lap 7 I tried to make with one of rears used up. Bad choice I spun out quite a few times and allowed the AI to pass and ended up on 2nd. I bought a couple of Escorts got parts from my 4 ⭐ 🎫

I swear, I spent over 40mins on the online time trial featuring the Porsche Mission X @ RBR trying to break into gold range, but I couldn't do it. That said, I did improve my time, insofar that I feel highly confident in getting a silver prize.

Oh, and before that, I thought I'd knock out the new Porsche Cup round at Laguna Seca, if only to also get a six-star parts ticket as well. Got a carbon prop shaft, though I can't immediately remember what car it was for. I used my tuned 911 GT3 (997) and got a clean P1, but what I didn't know was that apparently the newly-added 911 Turbo S (992) isn't just turbocharged (whereas the 992-generation GT3 RS is NA) it's also 4WD, whereas the 992-generation GT3 RS is RR.

Made a helmet design concept combining my ‘regular’ helmet design with a “Star Trek” themed design I did a while back… came out okay I think…

(The “Star Trek” themed thing comes from the three colors, command red, engineering yellow and science blue)
