What License or mission are you struggling with that you feel ashamed about?

The problem isn't catching the 1st place driver, it's doing so while avoiding getting hit by the 3rd and 2nd place cars, while navigating through tight corners towards the last sectors at Fuji. I had a blip of a time getting around them without hitting them and then on top of that you have to draft the crap out of the 1st place car on the straight. Simply MADDENING!!!!! Did any of you guys have trouble Golding this mission? What did you use pad or wheel?
There a a few different starting conditions for the other cars, I had a lot of problems with the 2nd and 3rd place cars bunching up in the tight corners and therefore impossible to pass. Exiting and restarting the mission gives a different mix of where the cars are placed, and some of the arrangements are really easy to pass with large gaps between cars. One setup lets you pass the second place car going into the tight right hander, then just follow the first place car into the last corner before the straight and then pass easily.

So I was struggling to get the moby dick cone challenge and drift mission. I've been trying over and over again not even getting close. The cone one actually baffled me because I've seen no way to do it. I thought I might be able to just fluke the drift challenge as I did the previous ones.

I was ready to give up and not get gold on these missions, when I decided to try using a controller instead of a wheel. Then I instantly did much better on both than my previous best attempts with a wheel. Managed to clear both within a few tries. This is just unfair that the game becomes so much easier with a controller. In other racing games it is usually the opposite.

First of all, I will say this is a nice thread. It's nice to see people are humble enough to admit where they struggle in the game, and I'm no exception. Now, working my way backwards, from the game's last missions to it's first, I've managed to gold all of them so far down to Rolling Stone. With that in mind, allow me to declare what I feel has been THE hardest mission TO DATE.....

THAT GOSH DARN OVERTAKE MIXED CLASS 1 at FUJI IN THE NISSAN!!!!!!!!!!

OH....MY......GOOOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thing was giving me STUPID amounts of problems this morning! Took me like THREE HOURS to finally(and barely) Gold it!

Oh and one last thing....

........DING DING DING

I did it with the controller. It was a bit of a challenge. I tried passing 5th both on the inside and outside. If you get a great run on the first half there is a chance of passing 2nd and 3rd on the inside into the braking zone for the slow right left sequence. But I made contact many times trying that.

Yes you are correct. Any attempt at passing them is a huge risk because they act as if your not there and will take their own line no matter what, and just bump into you. It doesnt help that its generally hard to pass cars at the tight corners at Fuji without any collisions. Infuriating.

The drag ones... I don't drive irl and never learned to use manual in any GT game.. so yeah kind of ashamed of that..

Most of the passing missions are. The slightest contact fails you though it seems like it depends on where the contact is. Some slight side by side contact seems to be okay.

Any tips for the Gone With the Wind High Speed Ring? I used the GT500 Supra and got close, but potentially botched the strategy. It seems that I should've went with wet tires over the intermediates as I got loose a few times at speed. I never went back to dry tires after it started raining. How do I know when I can go back to dry tires?

But there were also cars that were passing me on the straight, so I don't know. Is there a better option? Mazda Stealth? Should I upgrade the Supra?

Also what did everybody do for the viper drag race? I'm seeing that an upgraded 86 rally car is a good option.

Three laps on RS, full tank on Wets, remainder on Int. I used the Mazda Stealth and won easily. The viper drag race I used the Audi Sport Quattro Rally car on RS with High RPM turbo, minimum downforce.

This race is turning into a real pickle. I start out on the racing hard tires, but it's only a few laps before it starts raining. Eventually the wet tires get worn and start slipping and sliding, or i get snap oversteer in the high speed turns.

edit: Getting closer. I was first for a chunk of the race, but got overtaken at the last corner after my intermediates got shredded. :(

I did all the licenses pretty quick but struggle with drifting missions. I’m never consistent and feels like luck to even get silver.

It’s never my favorite thing like when Dirt when all gymkhana heavy but it’s pretty easy Forza Horizon.

Apparently the Nurburgring gold circuit experience full lap is 20 SECONDS QUICKER in this, I think using the same car. There was a thread on here about it. I'm just like "I'm out". Bronze will be just fine. Not needed to get a platinum trophy at least. I wonder if it's tougher than mission 34 in GT4.

I've found everything tough. I see people be like 'oh, such and such is easy' and sometimes I wonder if they're that good or just lying
It doesn't hold a candle to Mission 34. I never race on the green hell (cause multiplayer there sucks balls imho). But I started out with a Bronze my first attempt. I came back a week later and golded each section one at a time (first one was the toughest). Then I put my man card in my wallet and started the full lap after watching @zocker_16's lap replay. I did on my 3rd (finished) attempt. In all I spent probably 3 hours on it. Whereas in Mission 34, that one literally took me months of trying, failing, quitting, trying, failing quitting

Haven't bothered with super license yet, just getting back into it after a looong hiatus so I'm still rusty. The Porsche cup is giving me fits, took 4-5 tries to catch the rabbit car on spa and cannot catch it once it starts raining on the nurburgring using the 997 gt3. Everything was easy up to this point including IA license gold and the couple missions I tried.

Still getting acquainted with a wheel, but for me the most maddening so far has embarrassingly been The Pass using the Toyota Crown. That thing is a damn land barge on those tight Tokyo corners, couldn't get gold for the life of me. Anything else I've struggled with hasn't been nearly as puzzling as that one.

I finished all licences yesterday at 3 a.m. all golds playing with DualSense. I'm proud of myself. Now I'm ready for the rest of the missions 💪

BTW: Has anyone captured gold trophy lap at Laguna Seca circuit experience? I didn't even count f...s I've been shouting 😅

I have the same problem, still not able to complete it... Only way is to exit and start continuosly untill you find the only arrangment of cars that allow you to (barely) overtake 2nd and 3rd together while braking before entering the tight section, hoping they don't hit you... And then you need to control that slippery rear end of gtr to not lose too much traction against the well know superhuman traction control all IA in GT have...

It's almost funny that PD pushes a lot on clean races, fair play, correct overtakes... And then IA hit you everytime, make you spin, act like you don't even exist on the track...

I did this for 3 hours yesterday but no luck. Twice I've passed 3rd and 2nd just entering the tight section, and both times those idiots hit me from behind. The awkward line you have to take allows them to come out of the corner a tick faster. It's been infuriating because it's only the oblivious racers that are keeping me from doing the mission!

I had a hard time with that as well, using the same car as you. Two things that allowed me to win - use intermediate tires (on the ones that have rain) and @Praiano has a section here with an absolutely wonderful tune for that car. It turned into one of my favorite cars (begrudgingly, because I don't really care for Porsche ;) )

Fiiiiiiinally S-10 golded. 2.25.789.
Had to use all TC, ASM and countersteering assistance. At least i'm done with this. Never coming back to improve this time. I think it took me around 5 hours to do it.
It was so good seeing that trophy "hard work pays off" pop out after this.

I finally did it. I took the advice of someone on here and kept exiting if it seemed too difficult. I won on a run that was nowhere near my best. 1:15.532. I can't tell you the relief I felt as I drafted him on the last straight and pulled by him.

Edit - Hilariously, it shows on my friends list as first, then displays my winning time which is not my fast time and even got a boost drafting the entire last straight

Does Circuit Experience count? I'm struggling to get gold with the one-lap trial for Le Mans, High Speed Ring and Autopolis.

(Thank god I got gold on everything in the Nurburgring, Willow Springs, Dragon Trail and Kyoto Driving Park).

Try intermediate tires. That worked for me

I'll be trying inters next go, ran them side by side by side with ss at Tsukuba and they really don't give up any dry grip, might be a winner. I'm using a tweaked version of the praiano tune already, it drives great but the ai is just too fast on the straights using the same car as me.

Will be trying it next go around for sure.

I noticed yesterday, Cafe Mission Friends list is sorted by medals, then time. If someone golds in Beginner setting they stayed above me until I golded in Adavanced. Doh. Took me until I finished to notice.
