What License or mission are you struggling with that you feel ashamed about?

I made it. I used the tune from here for the RX-Vision :

Some slight alterations -
I had front downforce at 440, so I kept it there.
Body height - I kept rear at 70.
Rear toe angle - I went with .25 as the rear tires get beat up, especially as the circuit dries.

I kept it easy on the high speed bends in the wet, so I wouldn't spin. I only spun once when I went on a rumble strip. The weather seemed to be similar as last time. There was a bit of a downpour after I put on intermediates, so that was rough.

I pitted twice - once for wets and once for intermediates. Like last time the intermediates were barely hanging on in the last lap but were in better shape, and my time was 10 seconds faster than last race.
I am struggling with the bl00dy Miata cone challenge ...
Yeah it's always rough to work out the rhythm of those. You have to drift a bit for the first cones, then figure out the lines so you can carry whatever speed you can (you have to be thinking ahead - how to tap the "last" cone while setting yourself up for the next series of cones).

Same, stuck on the Eco Driving with the 2000 Skyline. I tried shortshifting, but that only got me so far, just a second away from getting gold. Maybe I have to coast through corners? Set fuel consumption to 4 or something?
Yes it's something like that and don't forget NOT to step on the gas before the timer goes to zero!

IB license test with the GTR at Tokyo, took me several tries before I got gold. I knew what I needed to do(be smooth), but couldn't quite get it. Stayed a tenth away from gold for the longest, then out of the blue, I run a time that beat it by .5.

The Drag race against the Viper was fun. Tried my bone stock Focus rally car, but that clearly wasn't going to work. So grabbed the Audi Quattro Rally car, put a high RPM Turbo on it, some tuning, and gapped the Viper no problem.

I don't think I'll ever do S-10, even to bronze, if anyone wants to tell me this is even remotely realistic make my day, I'll laugh them out of the room. It's like driving sled on black ice. And I checked the demo, it's hilarious that they brake 100m later than me and still easily slow down. If I braked at that point I'd not stop until the wall, let alone making the corner.

For the most part you can't even see where is the supposed dry patch on the road so every corner is 100% trial and error. And when a game has devolved to T&E it is failed in my opinion.

I probably could do it to bronze, but I did gold on all other tests. The interlagos one I did gold on my first full lap, so don't tell me to get good, tell that to the game.

Use all Assists...dont thinks its blame.

And then.. learn how to brake on Wet.
On Wet or almost Wet lanes your Brake works better with lower Pressure, try 50 then 60 then 70 % Power.. you will see its almost all times better than FULL 100% Pressure.

To understand why... you brake hard with high Power.. your ABS will work and get your Wheels free.
Trust me it helps...
The same works also on some other Cars like some Gr3, Gr4 or higher.

And yes maybe you have without ABS a better "Performance" to slow down, but you cant change your Direktion then.

Maybe I should just try it with a controller like the drifting challenges, but I'm not playing the game just to beat it, I play it to enjoy it, and I'm not enjoying this one bit.

Not a license or a mission but a race - the Mini Coopers at Goodwood - and I am ashamed!

I've bought bits for it, including an adjustable gearbox and the power restrictor to get back down to the required PP and I just can't get anywhere near a win! There's this little red one that hammers past every race - sure he's got nitrous oxide!!!

If you get past the leader early enough in the race, then he will hold up the speedy red one long enough for you to take the win.

Thanks for the tip but with my current set-up I have zero chance of getting from 5th to 1st! I overtook to 4th once, and then fluffed it by lifting a microsecond too early and wham - lost the place immediately. 🤣 Then the little red one shot past...... again!
I will need to tinker with some settings. 🤔

Drifting with the wheel, i just switched to the controller and it was much easier to get gold.

The mission where you have to knock down the cones around you while in a Miata was annoying as well. I also switched to a controller for this because it was much easier.

What if, by some chance, he were to get punted off into the sand? Does he drive well in the sand? :P

I'm struggling with a car for the 24 minutes of Sarthe. Gr.3 & 4, which I've won, won't cut it. The living legend Porsche that I got for preorder goes through too much fuel unless you put the fuel map to 6, which makes me lose time on the leader. I won the F1500, but I found out the hard way it does not have lights.....

The only way, it seems, to win a good enough car is gold on Super license. But I'm not there yet. I'm almost done golding all the missions, this is one of the only ones left. May have to buy a VGT :(

I tried doing the viper drag at a low cost, but ended up having to do nitrous. I was within .06 I believe without nitrous and on racing softs, but that closing speed was too much and I wasn't sure if I could improve on that. One time I tried blocking and they rear ended me.

Went through IA license test last night, put over 100 miles on doing all 10. Golded them all, and was worried about IA-10, but knocked it out after 6-7 tries.

IA-8 on the other hand gave me a fit. Ran that thing I don't know how many times, before getting gold.

The one I struggled with a bit last night was the Audi rally mission. Even if you're ahead and the AI taps you it goes fail... that was so frustrating a couple of times.

I've tried this, but whilst it felt slightly better with the controller, my results didn't improve much.

I have to accept that drifting is something I shall never master, and have decided to waste no more time trying!

I even asked my son to complete the drift missions for me - turns out he's worse at it than I am......

Tomahawk X makes that an extremely enjoyable 24 minutes. It will lap the field, easy gold in that mission. Use fuel map 4, start with RS tires, pit when it starts raining for fuel and Wet tires, then when it dries out pit again for fuel and RS tires to finish. The Tomahawk X is definitely 1,000,000 credits of FUN!

Edit: just re-did that race, and while it’s still an easy win, the Tomahawk X has been nerfed in one of the last updates. Not nerfed in power, but the grip in the wet has been seriously compromised. Also at the drag strip, where it would absolutely destroy all opposition. Now in the drag race missions, the Tomahawk X is almost undriveable, about as much traction as an ice rink.

The Red Bull also works very well there and you got that for Lizenes.

You possibly mastered that mission meanwhile, anyway, this is what I did :
I used fuel settings at 2 for when the car needs some power ( start, flat or uphill sections ) and 3 for the rest ( downhill sections from T4 to T8 ) in combination with a bit of coasting and fluent driving of course. It took a couple of test laps but was easy gold finally.

I just won it (best before 3rd in an Audi)! Had to buy the Aston Martin DBR9 - what a beast! Will be forever before I win top cars!
Needed to put fuel to 3 straight away and that will give 3 laps, then pit, fill up and reduce fuel back to 1 again for the last 2 laps. Just pipped the Dodge Viper! Yaaay! Had to try twice - first time I smashed into that wall entering the pit with big "go left" arrows on it and the game deposited me back on track - after the pit entrance..... 🤣

The Pass in Moby Dick can F off. I finally got gold after reloading a number of times to get different wind speed or AI patterns.

It’s incredibly horrible design to have random elements in fixed challenges like this. I was doing laps faster than people on my leaderboard that had gold and was in 3rd. All the sudden another attempt the AI is half a second slower and I get gold.

I have a couple missions now where my second or third best time is gold, and my best time is 3rd or 4th
