Watched "Running Scared" last night. It was actually kind of entertaining, and not really at any point did it get boring. Lots of twists to keep you on your feet, and although at some points the camera effects made you wanna puke from motion sickness (added to the WTF! moment in the middle that I won't give away) it was actually a good movie. 👍

The most surprising part of it all though is the fact that Paul Walker was in it! I actually had to think for a minute on whether it was him or not since his acting was making me wanna punch him in the face! Hmm...Maybe the devil had something to do with it since it was on 6/6/06... :odd:

Then afterwards I watched "Varsity Blues" on TV and the feeling came back so I knew it was all right in the world again.

Just watched Underworld Evolution last night. Excellent movie and I posted about it a little in that thread. 👍

danoff
I watched Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within recently.

Why didn't anyone warn me about this awful awful movie?
Hey, danoff. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children sucks. Don't watch it. ;)

Full Metal Jacket, yep in HD. Fantastic movie. I own the DVD, and it's so much better in HD in 2.3 to 1 aspect ratio. I wont watch the DVD version anymore. I'm going to start selling or giving away my DVDs since I'll move to Blu-ray discs soon.

Actually I just got around to watching Initial D the other day. Waaaaaay better than any of the F&F movies were and ever will be. The English dubbing was the best I've ever seen. A few of the editing effects were a little goofy, but overall I was impressed by the quality. I wasn't very Hollywood, and I like that.

I thought it was a bit pants myself.

I watched Tigerland on DVD last night, pretty good film.

I have Tigerland on DVD. Good movie, and the first Colin Farrell movie I'd seen.

I watched "Firewall". It might be OK for rental. I was not impressed, but wasn't offended either. I'd give it a "-C". I really think Harrison Ford's carrer is pretty much over. At this point, I'm not looking forward to the next Indy Jones film at all. :guilty:

Monty Python-The Life of Brian

Brilliant movie:

-What is youw name, joo?
-Brian, sir.
-Bwian ej?
-No sir, Brian
-Slap
-The Wascal has spuwit

Just brilliant!

"The Life of Brian" is the best comedy film ever made!! 👍 I've seen it more times than just about any other movie... the DVD release has a great documentary that the BBC made while they were filming it in Tunisia, 1979 (around tea time)...

There is a brief glimpse of The Pythons with Spike Milligan, their inspiration and erstwhile mentor, who makes a very brief cameo appearance in the film itself... also, George Harrison makes a very brief appearance too... it was his film company who bank-rolled the movie after the major studios were scared off by the potential backlash from the 'religious' content of the film...

There are simply too many brilliant scenes in the 'Life of Brian' to single out any particular one as 'special', but I knew I was going to love this film from the first time I saw it after the stoning sketch near the beginning ("Why aren't women allowed at stonings Mum?... I mean 'Dad'...?" - "Because it's written, that's why!") I actually just noticed the last time I watched the film (for the bazillionth time) that the guy who is supposed to be stoned in that scene is Matthias, who later pops up as the guy who opens the door at the PFJ's secret meetings...

John Cleese gives a masterclass in just about every scene and with every line he delivers. For some reason I particularly like the bit when he finally arrests Brian, and says "Your ****in' nicked, me old beauty!"... in a London accent  He then gets a slap on the back of his head for his troubles and turns round to Judith (the slapper) and says "Stop it..."... for some reason I find that scene hilarious...

Yeah, basically, you're almost laughing troughout the whole movie.

"Crusifiction?"
"Yes"
"OK, just down there and to the left"
"Crusifiction"
"No, I'm here for freedom"
"..."
"Just kidding"

I love Monty Python and the Holy Grale also very much.

The battle between King Arthur and the Black Knight is simply the best scene in a movie EVER

Recently I watched:

-Carlito's Way
-Memento
-Catch Me If You Can
-The Brotherhood of the Wolf

edit: finished Equilibrium

Watched part of Slap shot the other night. Old '70's film starring Paul Newman about an ice hockey team. Very funny.

Didn't see the whole film but from what I did see I might have to try and find it.

The Recruit

It's a movie I haven't seen in a while and I picked it up for a couple of quid on DVD.

i just saw the movie Closer :)

very very well made movie:tup: absolutely brilliant

i felt the 1st half of the movie could have been stronger...

Well, finaly bought myself the GodFather Trilogy...best trilogy of all time. I even like III.

*Watched FireWall ( Harrison Ford ) it was ok...
*The Pink Panther - Meh
*Aeon Flux - she is teh hotness and the settings for the movie were amazing, but it was a solid meh aswell.
*Re-watched The Fugitive too...I still love that movie!!!

Underworld Evolution - better than the original, but still not wonderful. Decent enough to watch though.

I didn't like the "Evolution" much. I liked the first one little bit better(not by much), second one felt routine.

"Running Scared" - Terrible acting + plot that doesn't make sense = OK movie? It was OK. This movie made as much sense as the "Bad Boys 2"(one of the WORST movies ever made), but it was far more entertaining and original. I love Paul Walker, but his acting was even worse than usual. Very attractive cast, too. I'd give it a "C+".

"Patriot Games" - I finally got this on DVD. I liked it much better this time. Last time I saw it, I was a kid and couldn't really get into it. I still like it less than the "Hunt for Red Oktober", "Clear and Present Danger"(my favorite), or even the "Sum of All Fears". "B-"

"Sword Fish" - The other selection of "2 for $10" at Circuit City. :D I didn't like this in the theater, but since I like Huge Jackman now, I wanted to see it again. This movie also was much better this time. "C+"

Guy X, the best subtitle for a film ever "theres been a **** up". Shame the film wasnt very good. Entertaining & boring at the same time, now thats clever!

May i ask what didnt make sense in Bad Boys 2, a6m5??
I know most people hate it and fair enough. But i loved it, best movie of 2003 & i havent watched a film as much i dont think.

Also as i like to be different, i thought Running Scared was really good. It was a lil slow at points, but i loved it for the most part. We dont get films like this anymore (in terms of violence) everything is PG13, so this (like BB2) was a nice refreshin break from the norm. I know Paul Walker was completely the wrong choice, but it was good entertainment

The Edge, thats a great movie!!

Guy X - 6/10
Bad Boys 2 - 9/10
Running Scared - 8/10
The Edge - 8/10
