There doesn't need to be a standard to premium overhaul. There needs to be a select number of highly popular and significant standard cars made into premiums. The rest can be let go, like all the cars from GT2 were.

This is exactly what needs to happen. Nothing against others, but I don't want to drive the 2001 ford focus why? Because I own one, and it's a piece of ****. The thing that got me into GT in the first place are cars that were out of my range not the everyday cars. They have their place, but if they were gone majority wouldn't care.

I think the everyday cars are cool and part of the Gran Turismo mystique. That particular design aspect should probably stay.

The problem is that the car list mostly comes from a 2005 game, and common everyday drivers aren't the same in 2016 as they were 11 years ago. There's a lot of cars that were valid everyday drivers then, but aren't now.

I think they need to trim that GT4 car list to the true classics and otherwise significant cars that people would still be driving. The sports cars of that era are still going strong because collectors and enthusiasts love them. The Camrys and Corollas and Civics are dead or dying because nobody cares, nor should they.

Once they do that, they can fill out the modern "everyday" car list. Street cars from 2010 to 2015, of which they have very few. One of the cool things about original Gran Turismo was taking cars that you see every day, and turning them into racing monsters. Or ricing them, if that was your thing. Or even just driving cars that you'll probably buy in five years, once depreciation has knocked most of the price off them.

Better AI, GT mode, no standard cars, tracks. Also Arcade node where I can select AI cars, turn on mehanical damage, reduce slepstream to real, select tires alowed for race, tires changes, refueling...

- cut out standard cars
- course maker
- cut out all useless cars
- a smarter car selection. Its stupid to have an Audi RS6 while you have no M5 or E63 station wagon. Same thing with the Alfa 155 DTM and Calbira DTM but no C-Class DTM.

- and whats most important. No promises and no excuses anymore. They need a reliable time plan what they want to realease and when. No "it will come out soon after the release" nonsense anymore. I m sick of waiting. I'm still waiting for the tuning parts and wheels for GT6. When they open their mouth they better back it up. Otherwise be quiet and make no announcments.

The greatest thing would be if Kaz would be replaced. I know, some of you dont like to hear it, but seriously its time to make space for a younger guy who knows what we want. Sometimes I think Kaz still lives in the late 90's. A lot descisions in the past 5-10 years were bad and he is the boss so he have to bear the consequences. If he would've worked for other companys he would've been kicked out a long time ago.

GT7 will be the First GT which I wont purchase on release. I will wait and see. If they decide to move on with the "coming soon" policy I'm not gonna buy it.

It's like Kaz is so focus on this Vision GT and Gt academy stuff besides the game itself. Like improving career, AI, sounds physics and etc.... I hate to say that but it seem like that's the case. Like people care about the vision GT stuff and GT Academy but at the end of the day the game should come first. Majority of the audience that play GT are more concerned about the stuff that i just named. Career and AI and all that other stuff along with other new features and cars and tracks. Give us info on the game not the other stuff that majority of people don't care about really.

Gran Turismo 7 would be a guaranteed purchase for me, if it looks noticeably better than GT6 (Gran Turismo 6 looks pretty darn good), if it includes all premium cars with interiors and no upscaled GT4/GT3 cars. Gran Turismo 7 would also be a guaranteed purchase if they make the tracks like High Speed Ring more realistic looking like is. Additionally, it would be guaranteed purchase if they upgrade the car sound tremendously, make Arcade mode and career mode exciting and difficult like Gran Turismo 3, bring back all the tracks from all the Gran Turismo games especially like Tahiti, El Capitan, Red Rock Valley, Seattle Circuit, Pikes Peek Hill Climb, Grindelwald, and just make GT7 overall new and fresh feeling.

Sadly while the Cars look better, and what not you'd be surprised playing PC games exactly how far behind the rest of GT looks.

Since my last comment, I had time to think about this and I concluded that the visions are not a problem, they are already in GT6 and they are finished models there so might just put them in the next game for the people that enjoy them.
I have 5 aspects that need to be sorted for me to buy the next gran turismo:
  1. The Sounds: a very big and discussed topic in the gran turismo world, and for me the most important point that do not need to be pointed out how bad is it compared to other games;
  2. The Classic Tracks: For most hardcore fans to this series, the classic tracks are really missing and I hope PD puts has much as they can in the next game;
  3. A Long SinglePlayer Career Mode: the beginning says it all, a freaking big career the takes months to complete and rewards every championship with cars, plus more challenging licenses tests;
  4. New Cars: A bit of every type and I will be happy;
  5. The return of the UCD: I would love the return of the seperate UCD like in GT4 although if any of the other points in sorted then I would still buy it without.
Basically, I want a GT4+.

Technically GT3+ or GT4+ would be the best thing to happen to this series LOL! I still never finished GT3 career to this day.:nervous:

Fully detailed inside and out cars(As much as they can), no bad quality cars and duplicates, GT3/4 style career, of course sound(currently being done), and 30-40 racetracks. Other smaller things like better A.I, better damage and better online and a course maker in-game is a must.

I think Polyphony has a long way to go if they want to be up to date with their competitors. Some features that need to be included are:
-full customization for most cars
-fixed A.I
-improved engine sounds
-better and more complex singleplayer
-remove STANDARD cars, Sony should fire Kaz unless he removes these **** stains on an otherwise beautiful game

How about this?

None of the rubbish that's tainting the gaming industry today.

Rubbish entailing:

  • Microtransactions
  • Broken and or unfinished games
  • Overhype leading to an anticlimax
  • Overpriced yet lackluster season passes
  • No communication with the players
  • Patch after patch after patch, don't forget day 1.
  • A certain lack of originality.
None of that for GT7 please.
I'd rather they follow something similar to Driveclub in its current state. Solid content for a reasonable price that keeps you coming back for more.

Why would you guys want yet another rehash of the same old formula? I'm mystified. Wouldn't you want, I don't know, a new and fresh experience?

We do, but if it's any indication what about GT5 or GT6 gives you hope that GT7 will be any different from those two? Heck aren't you guys still waiting for something that could potentially be a class action lawsuit if someone ever decides "hey you know this wasn't in the game, and never came out"(Course Creator)? I might be wrong on that, but it's been so long since I've played GT6, and this is the first time a great minute(like 7 months I've posted here).

Still I got my fresh new experiences going outside the box when I switched to PC gaming full time, and actually about to dive into Assetto Corsa possibly today.

It's a guaranteed purchase for me even if it's a piece of crap, falls short of expectations and never goes on sale. I just want to be there to experience the good, bad and the ugly first hand.

Maybe that's my problem I've come to expect to much from GT, but I'm spoiled now there almost is no going back.

Like I've literally been gone a long time as I didn't even know the course maker came out.

Get rid of console exclusivity. The model might have worked in the days of PS2 vs. XBox, but these days consoles are competing as home entertainment platforms, not purely gaming consoles. The series loses a significant market share by limiting itself to the PS4, as does the GT Academy.

I'll happily buy it as is - reason: no complaints so far.

PD generally have known what they have been doing. True, there have been reasons why things did not go as planned and maybe those should have been shared, but they did deliver a working model throughout.

Probably not the most popular viewpoint for this thread - I will however defer from replying to any detractors until after the season of apparent goodwill is safely gone.

For me this is a simple question

It will have to be fantastic game in it's own right
Have a great career mode off-line
No standard cars
Great AI

The days when i would buy Gran Turismo simply because it is Gran Turismo evaporated with GT5 and GT6

You probably need to say the same to Forza too, seeing that GT and Forza are first party games. :rolleyes:

I'll have to disagree with that. Herein out is my opinion.

Console Exclusivity, even PC exclusivity has its place. For one it gives us a reason to chose a specific platform. There's competition as opposed to a monopoly where if there were only one medium to rule then risk of it going rogue could be high then we're left with nothing in the end.

Lastly, for me it makes things interesting. Interesting in the sense of how one side tries to one up the other to the benefit of us the consumer.

I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Gran Turismo Sport has one other thing going for it that pretty much demands a cross-platform approach: eSports, sanctioned by the governing body of world motorsport as a World Championship. I cannot think of a single sports-themed title with eSports recognised in such a way. For Gran Turismo Sport to be released on a single platform would be akin to the FIA saying that only European drivers can win the Formula 1 World Championship.

Or that you have to use certain machinery or components in order to compete. Which they absolutely do. You want to win the Formula 1 World Championship, you can use Pirellis or you can GTFO.

I don't see that requiring a PS4 to compete is any different. It sucks for those of us without one, but there's an awful lot of precedent for requiring specific parts from a specific manufacturer in motorsport. I doubt the FIA would even think about it once, let alone twice.
