What's the hardest part of GT5?

Golding the Grand Tour Eiger Special Event was difficult for me. Maintaining balance and speed with the 8C on that course was a challenge.

I have finished all of the challenges except Vettel (bronze at Monza and Nurb, fail at Suzuka).
The hardest ones for me (in order) - Grand tour Tuscan night race, Top Gear Lotuses (Lotii?) and Grand Tour @ Eiger.

I only passed the Tuscan race last weekend. I was really close just after release, but one of the early-ish updates (1.05 - 1.07 or so) changed the course, and then I was 10+ seconds back of the leader.

I found most of the others pretty straight forward (not first time wins, but not hours of trying either). The GT-R challenge for the PSN trophy was only frustrating in that it took a few goes to put together a fast, clean lap, but I knew I would be able to get it done. I didn't have the same feeling about the Tuscan race for a little while.

I still haven't finished the FGT Championship, and I've been playing since launch.

It's just more fun to race people, not AI.
Not liking the series/car is not the same as it being hard.

Tsukuba 9 hour by far the hardest, it really puts the Suk in Tsukuba. Seriously, if GT6 has a similiar endurance I'll be hiring it out.

As far as most difficult for me, I really struggled for gold with the Grand Tour/Lambo event.

TGTT Specials and the GT Rally haven't been hard for me at all, the Ring and Seb Loeb specials have though, along with Eiger and Toscana Grand Tour and the Red Bull challenges obviously.

Strugging with the Nascar ones as well actually, especially that multiple draft one >.<

red bull challenge..expecially for pad drivers!!! only got bronze on monza so far...tried Nürburgring GP some days ago but quit after a few tries... it is just not too hard but more impossible to drive with pad I think!
Though I am kind of slight above average skills player... ;-)

bye the way: 1 week ago I managed the last two missing 1-round-events of the DTM challenge on nürburgring. NEW SLS DRY was hardest one -> 2 times just 1-3 seconds behind gold...but then 4 seconds faster! strike!!!
That whole challenge was very fun!
As the licenses as well... I like them a lot! Would be nice from PD to give us some DLC there... but I am afraid we need to wait until GT6... sigh

^These^ And the Historic Car Cup. (Until you got the right car.)

There is an upside to the B-spec Cote d'Azur race:

You get to use some creativity when name-calling your Bob when he stuffs it into the armco at the Nouvelle chicane.

#1. Red Bull X2010 Challenges
#2. Eiger, w/ 8C Competizione
#3. FGT Championship

I don't understand why people still struggle with the AMG Driving Academy, I thought is was very easy.

For those who are struggling with the GT-R Official Record Trophy, well, Gold every AMG Driving Academy challenges and THEN, go get the GT-R Official Record Trophy, it's a breeze!

 I've come up with some very interesting names over the course of GT5 in general. Especially the time trials! :ouch:

With the right tune the FGT championship is a easy as pie. It's just the matter of having the strength to drive the car for an hour.

The rally challenges (not the Sébastien Loeb ones) where the driving line was turned off were hard to beat, at least on gravel.

YES! Thank you! Those FF cars you drive against are just impossibly fast, especially on the last stage of the challenge...

In general, it goes without saying that the most difficult part of GT5 is mastering ALL of GT5. No one driver can honestly exclaim "I had NO issues winning any of the events/races in GT5." For that, I would like to thank the PD crew, Nissan, AMG and my neighbor's dog, uhm, I mean RUF for keeping me up some nights until dawn.

Personally, my biggest challenge yet has been the Gran Turismo Rally Events(Advanced) or specifically--NOT recieving a barrier penalty. In the words of one of my favorite F1 youtube gamers i usually go--"INTO... THE BARRIER"

The ultimate challenge of the GT franchise is truly the mastery of ALL events and races and finally the Platinum trophy. Few have achieved it, many will not. This is the call of the car/racing/motorsport enthusiast in us all. To win. To be the elite. /manifesto

Definitely the Currency system

20 mill money cap + cant sell most cars. Unlike previous GT's where I had more money than I knew what to do with, in GT5 I am perpetually broke. Kind of lame, you have to spend half the time grinding some race for money..

Indeed, it is a HARD cap.

My hardest though are:
Vettel Challenge (still need to gold 2 of them)
Eiger @ Grand Tour (only non-gold left from it)
4 licenses (my kryptonite is A-3 [double hairpin at indy in the 370Z] I just can't get that time).

Finding something to buy. Now that I get 4 million credits per race in the F1 seasonal, I went and bought every Premium race car again and a Miura, and I'm still back at 20 million again. I must have spent 50 million credits yesterday. I guess I'll just have to start collecting X2010 colors and buy the 3 classic cars again.

I just buy everything I don't have. Although I'm again at 20 million and I am now only missing 80 cars.

Hardest part for me was the Time Attack on Eiger Northwand and the Red Bull X1 Challenge but thanks to a little glitch a long time ago I managed to get the gold trophy on all of them.

I agree. I have been spending gobs of money on the 3 classics(XJ13,Miura and TZ2) and painting them all different to make an outstanding collection. All acquired through A-spec winnings too.

Yeah, but I don't wanna fill up my garage with stuff I don't want. I'm mostly buying a stock (0/0 for the most part, but unmodified is fine. I'm not OCD ) and another model of cars I want.

For the double hairpin at Indy, I used the handbrake to give me some extra rotation. After that, all you need to do is keep in a straight line.

Did you use a wheel or DS3? I'm using a DS3 and I'm still a tenth short with MT.

I did A-3 - and everything else in GT5 - with a DS3 (well, I'm about 3,000,000 XP from Lvl.40 which will give me the Plainum trophy)!

But I remember that this test was quite hard! But like the previous poster told you, you MAY use the handbrake, it helps a lot!

Just to be sure, have you checked Stune9's videos? He's the man to explain how to approach each test... it might help you !
