Which car was your 1st purchase? (Or will be your 1st, if you don't have GT4 yet...)

Agreeing with the Trueno-loving there, but I am no fan, because mine doesnt drift and I can't be bothered to drift either. My friend drifts; I dont. Guess who's quicker? (Hint: me).

Anyone who even thinks of buying a Yaris as a first car needs to be shot. dead. In real life its a good car, with a surprisingly powerful 1-litre. In GT3, it had shocking amounts of understeer and general lameness. I hated every moment behind the wheel of that pink (yes, pink - no other colour suits such a heap) blancmange, especially the 10 laps of SS11. Managed 17 second lead at the end.. but there we are.

GT1: Cant remember
GT2: R32 GTS-t Skyline (RWD). I started the game about 5 times. and used that car 5 times. and it kicked everything into the dust 5 times.
GT3: Mazda MX-5 - bought it already tuned from a friend to speed things up, but I raced it untuned for him so fair's fair. PT Crusier - NEVER. So utterly dull to drive. *yawn*

GT4: something stupid, but not hopeless. Nissan Pao maybe, but chances are it'll be useless, in which case bring on an old RWD Japanese car (R32?? :sly: ). The extra 100,000 will go on parts or a Pao as a spare car; not wasted on an NSX early on. No fun then.

Agreed. The Test Course race in the pro Vitz series was probably the most numbing experience I have ever had as a gamer. I really hope GT4 doesn'ty have a repeat of this (or a race of a similar nature).

How much money do you start the game with if you have a GT3 save file on your memory card? I did a search for the money bonus, but I can't be bothered browsing through massive threads for an answer (and the FAQ stickied at the top of the forum did not answer this either).

If I can't afford either an '05 Mustang or an SRT-4, I'm likely going to try starting out GT4 in a Silvia, or maybe even a Skyline if it's possible. I've used the Miata as my starter car for all 3 previous GTs, but now I want to try something different. I'm also thinking about starting off with a Civic Type R, or a CR-X.

In GT1 : some skyline I think... I could check it out but my eyes hurt looking at the big polygons and pixels from that game.

GT2: Prelude 94 Vtec. don't know why but I loved that car. I could have bought those supras or meabe something better but the prelude was great fun.

GT3: Miata MX-5. Although I screwed up and bought the version that costed 100$ more I think and had 10 hp less 👎 Anyway, it was a fun car to start with. And for that PT cruiser thing... it just look like a Hearst.

don't have GT4 yet... *raises fist in belief* ARRRRR!

heres what id like my first car to be
nissan-silvia-spec-s-aero-99.jpg

Does anyone know how many credits you start out with in the US version?

Gran Turismo 1: Don't have
Gran Turismo 2: Some Honda Prelude V-tec. I didn't know anything about cars before this and it had over 200 hp so I thought it would be fast.
Gran Turismo 3: Toyota Vitz
Gran Turismo 4: Something American.

My first car in GT4 will definetly be a 1986 (I think) Toyota MR-2 G-Limited

edit:you start with 10,000 which is equivelent to 1,000,000 in japanese version.

I am going to start with the closest thing to my 1st car (a golf III)

volkswagon-golf-i-gti-76.jpg

er.... looks like you cant buy it :yuck:

damn, how do you win this car? I really want to start with it :ill:

edit: damn VW GTI cup prizecar... have to buy the new GTI before you can get the 1st one? lame :grumpy:

hmm.. I could always import my GT3 money and get the VW w32 4wd and tear up the GTI cup, then use the golf I.

I may also get the volvo. The 1st car I remember riding in was my moms volvo 240 (a little older than the one in GT but hey pretty close)

GT3 The Mazta MX-5 Really happy with that..

In GT4 I'm not sure.. Probably something FR, quite light weight and easily tuned.. Will have to check the used car lots! Maybe even the MX-5 again.

Cheers!

EDIT: I really don't want to start the game with a car that I've won in a license test. I like the part of the game where you can just afford a crappy car to race almost stock and then slowly be able to buy upgrades to get faster and faster. Will for this reason probably wait with the licenses until I really have to do them. (That will probably be quite soon though..)

Why bother even buying a car to start in? It gives you a car for GETTING a license, and an extra car for all silver, and another for all gold.

Once i have enough $, a Monaro, Green preferably.

However a 240 Volvo will be a cheap entry... (as i used to drive a 144)

Thanks for the info. I'll probably be going with a Civic Type R as my starter for GT4 then.

I remember back in GT3, I just barely picked up the Celica GT-Four with like 250hp I remember from the used carlot. It was a helluva deal, I'd do it again.

The Three Bigest Bangs For the Buck in GT4 under 10,000 Credits:

Mazda Savanna RX-7 Efini III ('90) - 215 ps - 9,463 Credits

http://z-o-g.org/gt4cars/used-2h90/mazda-savanna-rx-7-efini-iii-90.jpg

Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) ('91) - 215 ps - 9,313 Credits

http://z-o-g.org/gt4cars/used-1h90/nissan-skyline-gts-t-type-m-91.jpg

Nissan Silvia Ks 2000cc (S13) (91') - 205 ps - 713,600 Credits

I leaning towards the RX-7 since my love for rotaries is undeniable having had 2 in the family, but after that I can either spend some $$$ on modifying it or switch to this car.

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 ('97)

http://z-o-g.org/gt4cars/used-2h90/chevrolet-camaro-z28-coupe-97.jpg

The Camaro is the biggest bang you can get for under 15,000 all the way up to 21,000 credits where the TVR Griffth comes in with 324 ps.

However that's just for horsepower, but I know you can tune a Camaro for nice handling.

Not sure if all of those are open on the first week in the used car lots... The car with the best power/weight ratio for the first week is a 95 Integra Type-R for around 7,000 credits.

Yall might wanna check what cars are available in the used car lots for day 1 before picking a car to buy.

Check out Famine's used car list, its from week 1-20.

Best Car to buy for under 10,000 credits IMO would be the 95 Honda Integra Type-R in the "Used Car 90's A" lot. Its got the best power/weight ratio by far for under 10k, and if the conversions are exactly divided by 100 from the ASIAN version to the NA version, it'll cost 7,797... Leaving you with 2,203$ left for modifications.

Sounds like a good idea, can sum1 post a link to this 4 me plz? :)

I'm gonna transfer 100,000 from GT3 just to get the RX-7 Spirit R. Then to not be completely cheap I'll keep buying and selling cars til I have no money, so I still have to work to get my file moving.

My first car was the Nissan r32 skyline gts-t m-spec....
It was the first car that was under my budget so i just went and bought it...
I was in a little hurry...

I lost my GT3 memory card so I had to start things from scratch.

I play missions and used the 10,000 credit to buy my first car FD RX-7 with 250ps.
