Another day..still no gold. I got a 6:38.0. ;/

I need to practice the sectors again. I think I can find a bit of time in the first three.

Do you know where you lose time? Imo there are certain sectors where you can easily lose time. It is key to maximise your exit speed before the longer straights. It is easy to brake too late, if you brake a bit earlier and make sure your car is stable in the corner, you can focus on the right line for a good exit. It can easily gain you half a second or more on a straight.
Btw full disclosure: I am still at 6:44. But that was just my second try, I just golded all the sectors yesterday.

Not exactly, but I know I'm not doing great in the first sector. I rarely go into the 41s. I'm usually in the lower 42s.

Maybe do a quick rerun of all sectors to see on which ones you lose time.
In the first sector I found out it is important to let the car roll through the consecutive corners and try to not brake too much too hard, as it makes the car unstable. Also, make sure you have a good exit from the first corner.

Have you checked out my ring playlist? OK, I'm not nearly as fast as @1gorFraga or other track professionals, but I'm not that slow either.

If you still have questions, you can also register in our discord and we will "work" on it together (by the way, this applies to everyone who still has problems on the ring).
A video of your run would also be great, because you can see very well where your problems lie.

More specific questions:

Which assistants do you use?
Do you have a changed brake balance?

@NikNakTobasco

Would you please share a link to our Discord here again? Unfortunately, I'm at work and don't have access to it.

TCS 1 and countersteer on weak. I've tried both off and weak, and it doesn't make much difference. Brake balance is 3 to the rear.

I've been watching some laps on youtube and I think I'm seeing some areas to work on.

My opinion or assessment / experience since the 1.13 update... deactivate the countersteering assistant. Due to the update, the grip on the rear axle is usually so high that the car urgently needs some rotation to be as fast as possible in the really important corners.

I have brake balance at +4 and ride it very well. Brake a little earlier, don't brake too hard and don't hold the brake for too long... that calms the car down enormously and enables clean and high cornering speeds at the same time. If you come into a corner cleanly and can maintain your speed, then you also have a much better exit, thus far more top speed on the very important straights... and even if the course has a lot of corners, you have a lot of sections with high top speed.

Starting this today on ps5 controller. I know gold is 20s tighter than gtsport (just madness). Should I use tcs0 or tcs1? Is there a good brake balance? I know from other races that this car is a bit hard to control and spin happy.
Thank you

I am going to have to come back and try circuit experience again with some of the info I've seen in this topic, most of the time I am not even getting above bronze which I find very frustrating.

Something to do over the coming days! Hoperfully I can start toi get gold's soon as wouldn't say no to the reward from this one!

Might post my lap if I continue to have issues. Is it easy to upload?

If you have a YouTube account, it's actually quite simple... Do your run.Save the replay. Then start the replay and start recording the video by quickly pressing Share (on the Ps4) 2 times.
When your round is over.. click share again and the recording stops, a menu opens where you select "Clip" at the top.. then share.. then YouTube and there your login for YouTube (when using this for the first time Enter function )... Then it will be uploaded.. and after a few minutes it will be ready on your channel.. post the link to the video here and you're done.

Just got gold on my 2nd evening of trying. 6:36.269. I used TCS 0 and countersteering assist on strong, manual transmission. PS5 with controller + motion steering.I prefer the hood/roof cam in this game, just personal preference. I put TCS to 1 on sections I didn't trust myself on like the Carousel and final corners after the long straight. Definitely a challenge but I was getting more and more confident in each section the more I retried. It's not easy to input precise throttle control on a controller so a lot of times I found myself shifting up to 3rd early to prevent the car from stepping out leaving a slow corner.

I got it today - 6:37.577. I practiced Sector 1 until I was golding it more consistently. I think I learned some things from that.

41.9 on the first sector, which was decent but I clipped the grass on the next high speed section, which didn't help. Before the midway sector, I was at a 3:04, which isn't great and a sector like that usually told me chances of gold were slim. But I did alright on the back half. 5:52.9 on the straight and I knew I had a shot if I didn't screw up the last part.

Congratulations to everyone who has conquered fresh gold on the Nordschleife.... You have mastered a very good performance on one of the most difficult tests.

greeting
Thanks. Just 7 left to gold all. Sardegna rally, fisherman ranch, autopolis(the one giving me more headaches), tokyo xpress2,3,5 and 6

There's several reasons, not just because it's hard.

Most won't ever bother with it, for starters. It's also not necessary at any point in the game - not even to get the Platinum, even if you care about Platinum.
Hey buddy you're still alive and kicking. Awesome. I guess I'll have to take a wack at this with the DS4. hopes aren't too high but we'll see. I hope you're doing well brother 😎👍

I just thought about it and man, I can't believe it's been 20 years

finally golded all the sectors, just did a casual sighting lap in 7:00:929 fairly confident I can chip away at this over a few sessions, it’s mainly caution holding me back due to the lap length, need to grow some balls and start sending it a bit more!

If you set TCS1 to 1.. and the brake balance to ~+4.. the car is sooo stable that you have to abuse it to get into danger.

I’ve been working on this after all gold sectors. 2nd clean finish was a 6:41.

Sectors 8 and 9 are my hardest to keep straight. My biggest problem is losing focus and pushing too hard.

I’m using a T GT wheel. No TCS.

A friend of mine finished all sectors and got his gold lap first try in a single night. I asked him how he stays so fast and he really just focuses on braking points, apexes, and has a good car feel in any game. He’s also done Nordschleife a hundred times in other games (AC).

My current strat is to keep practicing sectors and full laps until comfortable. Will see how it goes.

I have every single gold CE - Nordschleife will be my final.

Hmmm - that looks like it was done by a robot?? I have managed a 6:35.7xx with a PS4 + controller (TCS=1) and I know there are maybe a couple of seconds more if I take all the risks and everything goes perfectly and maybe a couple more if I could do it TCS=0 but another 13 doesn’t seem possible … it’s like 4 seconds a lap on a “normal” circuit better than a pretty good time. Even the ghost car (10 seconds better than gold) feels like it was done with a different physics mechanism
