Why do people shower in the morning?

I shower twice a day.

The morning shower doesn't do anything to wake me up - usually I fall asleep in it - but it does get the icky sticky post-sleep skin feeling and smell off me. I don't always wash my hair in the morning, however.

The second shower is after work. I work in a machine shop so it's self explanatory. I won't even go to McDonald's after work without a shower because I prefer to not smell like a bum.

On weekends, either or. It's summer so lately I've been bathing in the pool, though that really ruins my hair. When you've got a lot of curly beautiful brown hair you need to keep it shiny and soft.

During schooldays, I pretty much have the same schedule. I take a shower in the morning, and one after school. Its just how I've been brought up.

A good shower in the morning wakes me up and lets me mentally prepare myself for whatever I'll be dealing with during the day. It's a new, clean beginning. I also work inside in a low stress environment, so I don't exactly sweat a lot or get dirty. It wouldn't do to spend all night sleeping, just to drag my bed along with me to work. That's how I feel when I don't shower in the morning.

Plus, this is Ohio, not California, and therefore I shower whenever I want to because we have water all over the place.

I call that wasting water. :sly:

Color me surprised.
I do a quick shower in the morning to wash of the sweat build up from over night. Takes 3 minutes. Shower before bed to wash off all the sweat built up during the day. Takes 5 minutes.
I used to help out my parents when I was a kid and their employees were sick or something(cleaning service). I've seen hundreds and thousands of pillows without pillow covers on them. Even after a week or two of usage, they were already yellowed from sweat.
It's stupidly humid here, not like AZ or NV.
That's why I shower twice daily.

I shower in the morning because I freaking want to. For someone who complains about Government telling them what to do, your sure doing a ton of that yourself. Hypocrite.

There's teeny tiny itty bitty distinction. Unlike the government, I'm not holding a gun when I tell you what to do.

Now start showering in the evening.

Its just the idea that makes you an obnoxious hypocrite.

How about get off your damn high horse. I do shower in the evening AND in the morning. I sometimes if its hot I'll take a cold shower in the afternoon. No AC here... No need for it. Water is cheaper anyways.

Woaaahhhh dude, you might want to take it down a notch.

This is really pushing the AUP. Especially since I explained already to you why you're incorrect.

Glad to hear you shower in the evening. 👍

Calling your statement hypocritical isn't 'pushing the AUP'. But your bossy know it all behavior certainly is not something that should be welcomed in a place that strives to be family friendly.

You haven't 'explained' anything. But go ahead and keep getting off with broad statements.

Hey go and grab a soda and chill!

What? There is nothing offensive in nature in my post. I'm simply stating that he shouldn't act like such a dick.

I'll just keep drinking the ice water that I've been drinking. Don't know why I need to chill, its pretty windy right now.

Well, nothing beats ice water :)

But seriously, I don't think there's such a reason to overreact.

Show, how am I overacting? Or is it mandatory to bow down to someone with a higher post count. I don't get it.
Post count doesn't matter. It's just that your posting style makes you look slightly heated at the moment. Not having a go. Just saying.

Jesus man, what on earth does someone's political views have to do with showering???
Save your petty feuds for PMs, or better yet keep them to yourself.

Heated would be the wrong word, frustrated with someone who is talking down to you like I'm an infant.. Would be a better way of putting it. Its something that happens way to much on this forum.

Alright. You called the OP a hypocrite, which isn't really that necessary.

Really? The "flavor" of that post was bitter, and like what Ross said, relatively heated.

I'm not trying to pick a bone with you, I'm just saying what I see.

Plus, the OP doesn't include the word "government", so I don't know where you got that from and started unnecessarily debating.

Alright. You called the OP a hypocrite, which isn't really that necessary.

Considering hes always posting about the government controlling personal things like food/drinking intake.. Now hes here telling forum members telling when they should shower. I would categorize that as hypocritical.

I will ask it again, what does his political views have to do with showering??

He wasn't telling anyone to do anything, I think you may have too his OP a tad too seriously.

He doesn't COMMAND you to take a shower whenever, he wrote out two options, and suggested an extra for one of the suggestions.

And if he really is a hypocrite, tell it to him in PM's. Over here, he doesn't write ANYTHING about the government in the OP, and you over here debated about it. What does that make you look like to other people?

If you have your set of customs in order to take a shower, that's great, but there's no need to say stuff like "I TAKE A SHOWER WHENEVER I WANT". It relates to the OP, yes, but it just isn't really a necessary post!

Like I said, I'm just writing what I see.

Guys, have you seen how far we have gone off topic?

To try and keep on topic, I came home from school this afternoon absolutely soaked after cycling and had a shower to warm me up. That's another reason to have a shower in the evenings.

Incorrect.

Makes a massive difference.

None of them are appropriate for the thread or descriptive of my position. I'd really love to take this conversation where you want to, but I'm living within the constraints of the forum.

Obviously not.

He wrote that in response to your comment. In the OP, it doesn't state when you NEED to take a shower. You wrote your post, which got him replying. Not his fault.

So I can see that you don't really go over your facts before you write anything out. But please, keep going. This is entertaining!
