I suggest we cancel quali altogether this week and go with the current standings... then its first come first serve for the remaining spots (if available). Official WSGTC drivers only of course.

Given that we're not exactly running two full fields, that sounds reasonable.

Of course, I would say that because it's probably a bump of about 5 qualifying places for me... :sly:👍 So don't take my highly biased opinion on it.

Hahaha that smiley has some serious case of elephantitis - huge hand! But anyway, that's my proposal. I might join the waiting list just in case i get some free time on Friday :)

Oh meh, sent a PM - want to take a shot in the GT300 class. Hope it wasn't too late. :ouch:

Good to see you back Masi 👍
I like the idea of using the standings for this race lineup. I didn't have much time to practice at Monaco :sly:

Since I (at the moment) got the fastest time, and I'm also leading the GT500 standings, I have no problem with the idea about using the standings. However, I do think that the drivers who have done quali will start at the spot given thru the quali. And all spots below the last qualifier will be from the standings. I also think that the one who qualified also get the pole bonus. Ofcourse quali is open up until the deadline, so I'm not suggesting that we should freeze the quali.

It's not though, since it's impossible to qualify after 16:05 Wednesday. Which means anyone who wants to qualify needs to do it in the next 5 hours or not at all.

Edit: I'm not seeing anything on the US or JP sites, so it may be EU only. Which is unfortunate that a majority of our racers are EU based. But it means you could get around it by making a non-EU account and then qualifying with the different account. You could post your non-EU username here as proof it was really you.

I'll open up a room shortly. I won't be there full time, but I'll try and check every ten minutes or so and watch if people want to qualify. If I don't respond straight away, just practise or something while you wait for me.
👍

i think still it would connect to european servers but im no a expert:)

We should just do quali on Thursday, sure someone will host on that night. I can do it if no one else. Though my connection isn't the best, I hosted the Indy pre-season round with little issue.

Some of us have work, I don't get home till 18.00GMT, so considering maintenance being on a regular qualifying day, it only makes sense to extend the qualifying for an extra day.

I'm guessing that there are going to be several people who have to work and thus won't be able to make qualy. In the interests of fairness, there's probably only two options at the moment:

1. Extend qualification by a day so that everyone can take part.
2. Cancel qualification for this week so that no one has to take part.

Both ways suck for someone, but that's what we get with this maintenance thrust upon us.

This I have to try. I know that wasn't the case during the Nurb pre-season race, but that was weeks and several patches ago. I will be hilariously amused if PD has broken the Subaru.

Edit: Nope, my Subaru works fine and it still doesn't have rigidity installed. Besides, the car comes with RH as standard if I recall. Can you take a photo of the error message? I want to see it so that I can mock PD for being munchkins. :)

Sorry, I did not encounter that error anymore after i had my chassis rigidity.

It looks like the update only affects the following countries: AE, AU, GB, IE, NZ.

For the stewards not in the effected countries, will any be able to host the qualifying today at the "normal" 8pm GMT?

If not, would any be able to host at some other time today?

Thanks!

Actually, JP is getting it too. It was just harder to find on the JP Playstation site because they've got the announcement hidden away in the back.

I can host a session from 22.00 pm (GMT) for about 1 hour. I'll post the roomnumber when the room is up.

I wont be able to connect before 16:05

i would prefer that a full qualifying phase is completed as i think grid positions may be more important for this round than any other

i vote for the 24 hour extension

Extension is understandable, however is really wished I would of known this before. I rushed to get my lap done knowing I would be away today, if I knew this I would of held off and practiced some more. Rotten luck.

I suggest that the Extention is only for the affected countries. Does that sound like a reasonable suggestion?

I agree with Owens I think it's a bit unfair that we put in our lap early, with very little practice, and now everyone is gonna have an extra 24 hours to qualify :( I would have waited until Thursday to set my lap if I'd known this last night.

Life's unfair but hey if playstation want to do maintance then its not our fault for people who dont have time to do it on monday or tuesday and have to do it wednesday.

I for 1 couldnt do monday as i was working late, tuesday i had day off and spent the day with my miss so wednesday (today) is the only time i could do it

However i tried login on and psn and it worked a couple of mintues ago so if it working after my dinner around 6.30pm GMT il set up a room

Nothing is unfair! Nobody knew about this. And no matter what we decide, it will always be "unfair" for someone. Those who have already doen their quali, I'm afraid your quali-laps will stay. I'm not trying to argue, but no one knew about this, and by the time we knew about this, some of us had already done their quali within the regulations. It's sad that this "update" arrived so sudden. And we have to change the deadline for all drivers who did plan to run the quali to day (night, morning). But as I said, there is no reason to erase all quali-laps up until this point. This is my opinion.

Not really unfair... I've qualified on Mondays in both races so far, having not even done a lap before the session, because I didn't have the time to turn up on the Wednesday. Ultimately it's a 2-lap time trial where anyone can get it right or wrong, under immense pressure, I doubt anyone will go quicker on Thursday than they would have done on the Wednesday, or the Monday, or the Tuesday, or the... you get the idea :P

To be honest im not sure that anyone in the affected countries will end up having more time to practice a 'qualifying' run and work on setup if the deadline is extended. If i cant log into psn then im guessing i cant play online in which case i wont be able to set a room up in the correct conditions to be able to practice.

All i'll be able to do tonight is turn laps offline in different conditions, this may be help in terms of practicing running a consistent pace over a distance and staying out of the wall! im not sure it will help in terms of qualifying and improving setup though, i may be wrong
