People with Nat type 3 shouldn't be joining.
Even if you do get into the room, you are only going to cause issues for other people that are trying to connect.

Oh can i get on the GT500 waiting list?

Ive joined all of masis rooms this weeks followed by countless practice rooms and havent had a single problem and people have been able to connect fine.

Have you experienced any issues joining sessions and how do you know its cause someone there has a NAT 3. I think what your saying is not likely.

Do you know what nat type 3 is?
It Basicaly means there is something wrong with your connection.
You have limited connectivity.
So you are going to have problems connecting and and others will have problems connecting to you.

My nat changes from 2 -3 all the time and apart from not joining room numbers i havent seen any side effects and everyone has joined. I have been gaming online for like 5 years and had no effect on any other game.

I looked up on how to change the nat type from 3 to 2, It says something about opening the ports.... But i have no idea wat that means, also nat type 3 means that i have strict internet connection, And i think that means that it only joins lobbies if it has perfect connection, Therefore i cant join any lobbies?

just a suggestion but ive heard putting COD MW2 into ur ps3 opens the ports for some reason if u have that game u could try that. its the simpliest fix without have to mess with router settings

yes try this it will send the info to the router if you access the online area of the game. this was one of the fixes treyarch gave out to ps3 users with nat 3 with Black ops because they couldnt get the code working on black ops.

NAT 3 can work fine. It can be completely unplayable. It can be somewhere in between.

NAT 3 is usually a sign that there's something wrong with your connection, usually in the port forwarding of your router. Most of the time, people with NAT 3 should be looking to fix it. There's plenty of guides on Google to help with things like that. But if someone's connection is working fine as NAT 3, why fiddle with it? More to the point, why exclude them?

You may go on the bottom of the waiting list. However, allow me to offer some advice. Next time you are looking to join a series, do not begin with inflammatory comments.

I am in the series allready, im not looking to join.
I am only saying this because every week tere are problems with people connecting.

i will sort my NAT type out tomorrow but as at the moment it is working fine. and as i can only find eveidence that it only effects me i see no point in messing with router settings before the race. as i do not want to lose my connection all together.

im not trying to be an ass either i have fixed my nat multiple times and now its suddenly gone back to 3 the last few days and while i can join imaris room for the race im not going to try and fix it because i want to race. I will work on it after the race.

And you did sound a bit wrong telling people with nat 3 they shouldnt be playing. As far as i know there are a few of us on this series with nat 3 and no one has said anything about us affecting there gameplay.

right, who has problems with nat type 3?

there are some very easy steps to get it to nat type 2 (may not work)
or some harder ones that involve changing/opening ports on your router...

google is best way to sort this out, there are loads of forums etc

Ah see thats were its diff for me im actually nat 2 open on all my COD games but not this. COD seems to open my ports for my? its very strange.

I dont really want to mess with my router settings as 3 ps3s run from it and countless other devices. And with all these ports/static IPs do i have to do that for all PS3s in my house? Maybe paginas can help me? Whats the easy things to try first?

right if you have acess to your routers firewall etc look at these (these are for prologe, as ni hvnt looked at gt5 manual, im sure they will be the same)

If you experience problems connecting to online races, you may want to check the status of these ports in your router or firewall to see if they are being blocked or filtered. Your router instruction manual or manufacturer will be able to assist you with opening these ports up.

- TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223, and 10070 - 10080

- UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, 10070, and 50100

[Note: Make sure to enable these TCP/UDP ports in BOTH directions and are entered into the TCP and UDP port fields in your router / modem.]

We managed to get upnp available by using static IPs. COD works with a lot of people on nat 3 because its coded to open ports on the router so with most gives youa open NAT.

we didnt need to open ports just did the ps3 part and UPnp worked.

And thanks paginas thats exactly what i was about to do if i couldnt get UPnp to work.
