why not gt500? you discriminating us gt500 guys lol

plus senna at ur earlier post, i think they r going to add the older gt500/300 cars not too sure yet

What's up guys. Great discussion.

As it stands now, it looks like this will not be the final week of the preseason, agree? First off, i have an idea with the points problem (as many of you feel there is one).
I will re-structure it to make it a bit more closer. I will also implement race percentage completion. You must finish the race & complete at least 90% of the class leader's
total time. Not doing so will earn you nothing and the points classification will move up accordingly as deep as it can go from Division 2. So basically, any given week, the
last place finisher in D2 can theoretically earn as much as what an overall 2nd place finisher gets. Only theoretically, if you get what i mean.

We will not change the mixed class format. That's how it will look at least for the first season. As for qualifying, we will do it as planned this week. My schedule is as tight as it is and i only
have small windows to race a few days a week which is a break that hovers around 12 o'clock in PST. If you cant make the time, then im sorry. Although if the new qualy system does not
work, then we will restructure it next week to best accommodate everyone's schedule.

Qualifying:
On monday, GT500 and GT300 cars will have 15 minute sessions each (time will depend on track size). A set number of drivers (as much as 10 at a time) will go in free run and begin
the 15 minute session. Once the time is over, none will leave the track or go back to the pits. I will check their best times.

After that, i change the track, then choose the same track again to clear the lap times already recorded. The process repeats until we get the limit of 25 drivers per class.
We can do this on multiple rooms to maximize the time.

Anyway, that's all for now. Just woke up with a mild headache again. We had to call the ambulance last night as my friend collapsed from too much alcohol. 21 shots of
Vodka (21st bday)! Yikes... im sure he's fine now though. IV's will do the job :)

p.s. My apologies in advance for any typos or horrible grammar.

p.s.s. Any of the stewards or capable hosts (with the supervision of a steward) can conduct qualifying sessions at any given time of the week.

To be honest while it's frustrating if you are in D2 and are only capable of the points equivelent of "8th place", that's just how the divisions work and in fairness it's the same for everyone. While someone can qualify for D1 week in week out, perhaps they deserve the spot (and the ability to earn extra points) more than someone who maybe makes D1 every now and then. It's up to you and the other drivers to outqualify that regular-D1 person to make sure he stops earning those extra points, or hope they make a mistake in the new live-quali system.

The only way I think we could benefit the D2 drivers, is perhaps splitting the points so it's 1st-5th in GT500/300 in both divisions who can earn points. That way 6th and 7th in each division are out of the points, suffer because of (presumably) a poor race. Otherwise I admit 7th place in D1 could disconnect on lap 1, but still earn more points than a very quick 1st place in D2.

Just an idea since I can't see any other way to solve this. I'm happy with the system as it is but not fussed what we do either way, it's always the same for everyone.

(Also in terms of GT500/300 racing together, I'm sure a lot of drivers are racing in this series for the split in classes and the sense of reality - There are plenty of single-class series' available, and tbh this was started as a split-class series, I doubt that will change (and I hope not) - I'm quite happy as it is 👍)

I don't think that a D2 driver shoul be able to make more points (bonus points aside) than a D1 driver, cause then the qualification becomes tactics, with drivers ending up in D2 "on purpose" just to get easyer and more points. I do think that the system used right now is the best one. I do agree that there are som questions about it. But if anything could be done, it's probably a bonuspoint system, where the bonuspoints for fatset lap, pole a.s.o is a little bit higher in D2..

Love the system as it is now. Places large emphasis on being fast in qualification - think of it as extending the competition to the qualifying round. Then, once the race starts, you're competing only with the people around you. No need to worry if a battle you're in will cost you points vs. racers whom are in a different division and not even on your track.

Looking forward to the season :]

Massi i would like to race with gt500 this week to get a taste of the more powerfull grid
i will be running with the castrol toms supra. i know there are many drivers in gt500 but i guess some people may not make it this friday.

Not being a dick or anything, but the Castrol Supra is a JGTC car isn't it? I didn't think any non-SuperGT cars we being added for GT500

Masi I read there will be two qualifying sessions: Monday and Wednesday I'll be home tomorrow at 22 CET so don't know if I can do the qualifying session. If I lose the qualifying of Monday, I can do those on wednesday?

I see a potential problem with the current qualifying format, there is no way to to have a replay of free run, and a few stewards can't watch 10 cars at once. While you will be able to see the fastest lap times, there will be no way to determine whose laps were actually clean.

Aha so qualifying i done in an online room now. I think that is a much better solution.

Agreed it will be much better, simple but sweet... i need to get some practice in lol.

Im working late tomorrow so wont be home till about 10pm GMT so i wont be able to make it... (gives me time for some practice lol)

Damn thats true, didnt think of that... maybe we should just do a few drivers then....

Have a suggestion on race format and points.

Check out this mock line up and layout:

Qualify order:

1. RacerA
2. RacerB
3. RacerC
4. RacerD
5. RacerE
6. RacerF
7. RacerG
8. RacerH
9. RacerI
10. RacerJ
11. RacerK
12. RacerL
13. RacerM
14. RacerN
15. RacerO
16. RacerP

Take this order and split it into two races that have the same points awarded. "Bonus Points for TQ of both classes"

Here is the proposed formats:

Race 1 aka Div 1.

1. RacerA(TQ) 2. RacerC

3. RacerE 4. RacerG

5. RacerI 6. RacerK

7. RacerM 8. RacerO

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Race 2 aka Div 2.

1. RacerB 2. RacerD

3. RacerF 4. RacerH

5. RacerJ 6. RacerL

7. RacerN 8. RacerP

Offer same points, this puts the slower Q guys in with the faster cars, this gives the guy with a bad Q lap a chance at some points as well should be more interesting race with the fields times spreading from top to bottom in both races.

Penalties will be set to full to prevent cutting and contact.

Points restructure on News Board (Also on page 8).

I have read the full first page (inc post 1, 2, 3 and 4!) and can confirm I am able to attend at LEAST 50% of the races.

This sounds stupidly well organized (A good thing!)! Just what I have been searching for!!

I am going to hunt down more GT300 cars to try out, but currently I really enjoy the Subura Cusco. I understand the car you start with is your car for the season.

Penalties will be set to full to prevent cutting and contact.

Sadly this will not work, unless you re-define your rules of what the track consists of.

This is no more apparent than at sarthe, the in game penalty system generally treats all hard track as the track, so you can use can cut the tarmac on the inside of the chicanes.

monza's chicane is a perfect example of a track where the chicanes can be straight lined under the lobby penalty system.

i dont think penalties are activated in free roam??? its only when race has started, i could be wrong though.

No I don't think they are active. I'm going to setup a private room, turn penalties on, and see how much it will let me get away with at la sarthe.

Q lap prob should be done as a race. 2 laps, this should allow for saved replay and eliminate any worries of reviewing clean laps.

EDIT: Next page

Man too bad this is already tommorow. I really want to race with the Subaru but i need it fully broken in, got it at 328 now but i heard max is about 333? I won't make that before tommorow's session and mondays are the only nights i can qualify.
