Worst game in your opinion?

In order to complete a race, you have to hit a bunch of checkpoint flags on the way to the finish line. If you miss a flag, you have to go all the way back again. The main problem is you aren't actually told where the track is going, you're forced to follow the AI and memorise the track layout until you eventually win the race. Only then can you proceed to the next race.

On top of that, the game uses one of those awful 'password save' systems, which doesn't even work.

Well, that cover alone explains why is the game so bad, the sole presence of that logo is enough for me;

Any Phoenix Games product is a major, and I do mean major red flag. May I remember that this disaster came from them as well?

Atlus? Why them? They are responsible for making one of my favorite puzzle games with anime parts...Catherine. :)

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. Played the PS4 demo and it is awful. This video explains it pretty well:

Got to be the biggest disappointment of the decade in gaming. I can't believe it was ever green lighted in the state it was in. Even for a quid with those graphics I would feel cheated!

When it was anounced I was hoping for something maybe similar to the Skate series but then I played the demo and it was just terrible.

Sir I'm going to have to ask you to leave. This is one of my favorite games. :( I liked the checkpoint races that you had to find the fastest route as they were scattered and even the AI went in different directions. Although I don't know if you're specifically talking about the GBA game as I played it on PS2, they may be different.

Yeah, I'm talking about the GBA edition. The PS2 version was fantastic, but the GameBoy version was atrocious.

Had it not been for the Angry Video Game Nerd reviewing this game twice, this would have been a complete obscurity.

For the NES, released in 1988. It may not be THE worst, bur me, it is definitively on the list of the worst games ever made.

Here's a speed run that beats this garbage in under 23 minutes:

The guy who did this even admitted he got very lucky...that is, if you can even call beating this game an achievement.

I loved the PS1-era Driver games, so when Driv3r was announced I was really looking forward to play it. Sadly, I was in for a huge dissapointment.

- terrible controls/animations while on foot. Shooting is bad as well.
- unrealistic vehicle characteristics. Fiat Panda-lookalike is rwd and can do burnouts, Countach-lookalike doesn't seem to be really faster than car models that would be a lot slower in real life.
- bugs and glitches. Pedestrians getting stuck in the ground, people falling out of the sky (Nice) etc.
- Cops have this obvious rubberband AI, so trying to outrun them will be fruitless. By the way, will a real life cop try to stop you by provoking a head on collision at full speed? I don't think so...

While it may not be an "unplayable" game like Big Rigs, and therefor doesn't deserve to be called the worst game ever, it was certainly the one that dissapointed me the most.

I thought DRIV3R was a great game, but IMO Driver 1 & 2 were better. The shooting moments (which amounts to about 80% of the missions) were just plain awful but I found the driving to be pretty fun

Parallel Lines would cure that problem.
I don't even waste my time with handheld versions of games if they already have a console version.
Unless games like NFS Underground Rivals, GTPSP, etc. have a different content compared to their console version.

Except you left out one part, there are no console versions of those games. They were handheld exclusives. Games like that I do like, but if they have them on consoles, I will gladly take them over the handheld versions.

The only game I have played the handheld version of that actually is decent even in comparison to it's console counter part is MCLA for the PSP. It has some features the PS3 version doesn't for some reason and they are good ones left over from MC3. Shame on them for not carrying it over to the PS3 version.

Throw flaks regarding Road Rage 3 to Atlus, not Phoenix, because Atlus developed and released it (for Japanese market). Either way, it can be seen as Phoenix's response to Midas' decision to bring Battle Gear 2 to Europe (as Tokyo Road Race). ;)

So it is one of those rare games which were actually developed and not merely published by Atlus... Fair enough, thanks for clarifying that one. Regardless of who made what, both Battle Gear and Road Rage are mostly unknown games, and not entirely good ones at that either.

Yep, you should expect that sort of "effort" from Phoenix Games. May I remind you about their children's "games", such as Dalmatians 3. Just take one good look at this video, if you can stomach some wild anger. To be fair, I understand Caddicarus's point of view, this company shouldn't even exist, this whole game is one pile of steaming turds, and a massive copyright infringment, not to mention the stage of the worst animation film in history:

(Skip to about 3:30 for "gameplay", if you can call it that...)
That's got to be the best review I have seen in a while! When he said "Grab your popcorn", I literally paused it, warmed up a Hot Pocket and watched the rest on my TV and it was the best review I have seen in a while!

I have done a lot of research about this company since you posted this and they really are the worst video game company I have ever seen. Personally with the game Dalmatians 3, I really don't think there is much room to make a game that is worse than that. :yuck:

As for the cartoon, I actually watched the whole thing and man it really is terrible! Some of the shows that I thought had bad animation actually look somewhat better in comparison. They would have been better off selling that as a cheap VHS tape. :P
I was never interested in trying MW2012 (or Rivals) after getting fed up with this, in the higher tiers of HP2010. It's the only non-fantasy racing game for Wii U so far and I still don't have it.
I can remember driving a Reveton in a time trial once in HP2010 and I remember it would add 2 seconds to the clock every time you hit something and you pretty much have lost if you get even just one hit, as if the controls and collision detection wasn't bad enough already. It actually ruined my mood to even try to beat it, so I gave up on it all together and I still don't plan on going back.

In spite of EA's shenanigans, I might still be playing NFS games if they had continued in the direction The Run tried to go with the physics/handling. I don't care what anyone says, it's a great game beneath that outer layer of Hollywood cheesiness and needlessly restrictive gameplay design.
I admit I did like The Run the best out of all the 3rd gen NFS games, the physics and handling was somewhat better and I actually enjoyed the cutscenes and it made me want to finish the game for once. Still, PepeMickey and HuskyGT have pretty much spoken my mind on this. I still didn't like the game much and I had no desire to play it again after beating it. Pretty much Shift and every title they did afterwards are some of the worst for me personally. I have hopes the latest title will be much better though.

Not really sure if we can call it a "review" per say, considering that Caddy spends roughly 99.1% of the time being horrified/angered at the disgusting disaster which is unfolding before his (and our) very own eyes... I don't think he has ever made a more brutal bashing of one game/company, unless you're willing to count the second time he reviewed a Phoenix "game" (Snow White & The 7 Clever Boys. And no, that is not a typo, it's just blatant copyright mocking).

That is Phoenix Games for you; even when they were not ripping off Disney franchises with poorly-made minigame compilations which could be had with a CD from a children's book and were paired with equally terrible animation movies (which were not even made by Phoenix, but rather by another joke of a company known as Dingo Pictures), their own "original" work was bland, cheaply-made and severly lacking in replay value. Dalmatians 3 is the lowest the company has ever stooped, because it is not original in any sense, rips off a far more famous franchise by rehashing a cartoon video with terrible production values and then somehow, Sony believes that it's fitting for the public to buy.

Whatever was SCEA smoking at the time, I want some of that, because it seems like a really darn good drug...

Even selling the cartoons by themselves via VHS would be a grand waste of tape space. If you want to see other "highlights" from badly-animated bonus cartoons in Phoenix Games, these two videos will help you (warning for some slightly NSFW content, mainly plenty of swearing);
