I don't understand why these supposed "skilled drivers" worry so much about others using driving aids. If they're so good, they should have no problem beating someone using them. Especially the ones that claim they go faster without aids anyway.

I use whatever aids a car comes with in real life. I don't ever use driving line or SRF, but I could care less if others use 'em. I thought the bottom line of playing a game was to have fun. If people have fun with these aids, and aren't doing anything stupid, what do I care?

I use driving aids for my race cars, because the wheel spin is annoying. I use none on my stock sports cars.:)

Racing on the Nurburgring grand prix circuit recently I broke early for a corner. This particular corner normally catches me out and I struggle to keep a good line through it, so I gave it plently of respect. Anyway, the guy behind me ploughed into the back of my car and got a ramming penalty. He messaged on the chat that I sucked, I apologised and he still went on as if I done it on purpose.

Next race he has a coming together with someone else and had another rant and left...we were perplexed - the thing was he was fast and didn't need to resort to being an arse.

Just had a semi-bad experience. Was hosting a good, clean shuffle room. After a few races, some of the people were complaining that I was using driving aids. During one race on Rome, one of the complainers was pushing me into the inside wall on the back straight. He had been going too fast into the turn and hit the wall. I passed him cleanly then when he got even with me, he was pushing me into the inside wall. After the race, I gave him a warning that if he did that again, he would be kicked. He and his friend then started trolling me. (There were only 4 people in the room, me, the 2 friends, and someone who joined mid race.) The friends then managed to get me kicked out the my own room and when I rejoined to ask them to return it to me, they kicked me before I even opened the text box. That is the last time I give warnings. Also, can someone please explain why driving aids are so bad? Why can't people just accept others have different set ups for playing? Why should people who want to use driving aids be neglected like this?

That is some serious BS. :(
It's one thing if someone doesn't want to allow aids in their own room, but if you are hosting the room it runs by your rules. And if they were friends roughing you up because they didn't like your options then they are just scum, and probably would have tried to take over your room to set it up how they wanted regardless of your settings, unless you did everything they said like a servant. Seen it many times in many games.

This can be an issue in small rooms, but if you don't allow voting out the host, rooms with idle/idiot/jerk hosts get trapped that way. It does raise an interesting point though... perhaps if there are only a few people in a room it is best to just kick someone for bad behavior without a warning, since the host's control is so flimsy. Or maybe voting out the host should be disabled when there are only 4 people, since if the room is that small there's really no reason for the others to not just leave and make a new one. When 1 bad (usually inherited)host ruins it for 12 other people who want to race, it's a different story.

I was in a free run room on the TTGTT when a immature kid kept saying racist things to everyone in the room

The Top Gear Test Track is a wretched hive of flamewars and n00bishness.

Was racing on Suzuka in a shuffle room today. All was well and everyone courteous until this one guy joined the room (doesn't this sound all too familiar..) I'll admit, he was pretty fast BUT everytime someone tried to over take the guy, he swerves and pushes them off the track.. honestly, you drive pretty fast, might even finish in the top half of the field consistently! Why try deeek moves when you drive pretty well?

Last night I inherited a room after the mouth breathers with mics chased the host, who was from Mexico. Right away I hear the spotty faced, voice cracking heros raise a chorus to turn off penalties (Quote "I'm a free racer, if I see a gap I'll go for it, I don't care if you're in my way, or if it's green, it's all fair to me), raise the PP limit beyond 500 for a shuffle race (LOL!), and calls to reject the host (me) when I didn't comply. So of course I put on full damage and penalties, and dropped the pp to 320. problem solved, they left, and soon the room was bursting with good racers.

I inherited a shuffle/spec clean or kick room while i was playing this afternoon. A couple of races in, a dirty driver joins( i had no idea initially). i gave the usual warning: clean or kick, no ramming etc. almost every race afterwards he's causing pileups, using people as walls, brake checking etc. He gets multiple warnings and complains like a 2 year old, but he doesn't adhere to the rules of my room so i finally end up kicking him. as soon as he's gone im getting hammered with negative comments from his "friends" telling me how he's a gt academy finalist , he's an amazing driver blah blah blah. then the whole room turns against me. it's ridiculous when people join a "clean" room and then criticize the host for trying to keep a clean room, the guy was driving like a complete tool! after all the negative comments i recieved i just didn't feel like playing anymore.

I was accused of not racing clean, the person who accused me brake checked me at almost every turn and proceeded to dive down on me in a corner, he eventually forced me so wide out that I had to brake hard and avoid the grass to avoid spinning out and hitting him and the guy behind us, so my cars wheels locked and I broke into a skid, so I tapped him off accidentally but he recovered, and then accused me of driving dirty... Then left the room. I don't get it...

One of those "I encountered this sore loser moment."

About 3 weeks ago 2 British lads, with mics, ganged up on me after spotting my Irish flag. It was just us 3 for 3 laps of Trial Mountain. As soon as the race started one of them darted across me and the other arsehole kept crashing into me. I was determined not to quit so I kept going and remained vigilant so as to see when one of them was going the wrong direction. Avoiding them was pretty simple as they had no real clue how to block and I went on to win.

Back in the lobby I sent a really friendly message to wind them up, soon after which I recieved a PSN message which was far from friendly. I replied that I was looking forward to racing them again soon and have a nice day.

got kicked out of an open drift lobby because i wasn't level 40 A-spec.
My profile picture was an R32 GT-S skyline and they made fun of me because they said my profile picture was a dumb picture of a Ford Mustang trying to drift......

I have joined rooms where there was a white racist guy picking a verbal internet fight with this black guy. That makes me laugh, this guy probably would never say anything to the guy's face in reality but since it's the internet, he can just proceed to use all the racial slurs he could think of. I think fighting over the internet is stupid. It is completely pointless to get mad at someone you will probably never meet. Why not try to be friendly? The only difference between people in GT5 online could conceivably be their cars but all other areas for any form of prejudice are cut off there.

Everytime I go online I ONLY try to search for lobbies that fit my playstyle. If the Word CLEAN or a PP limit and such are not placed I don't join. Also people who lag JESUUS CHRIST! If you know you are lagging please just leave. When I don't find a lobby I usually go and play BF3.

* Enters clean shuffle room
* See's someone called <read the OP> in the room
* Thinks to self "heh, this should be interesting"
* Gets kicked within 15 seconds of entering room

Gee, thanks. Hate hosts like that, don't even give you a chance to race. No doubt better off not racing against people like that.

Are you referring to me?

Nope, it was somebody else. They were neither host or from your country so definitely not you lol. However, I am currently searching for this room you say you host. Probably non-existant at the moment, since you're on here!

Lies. All lies.
