Saw a video of an older car, i think a quattro it was, in 3rd person, the sound was better for sure. But it was on a pc i think.

Another was of a modern wrc or wrc2 car and it wasnt so hot sounding, i dont know, for all their talk of sound in the last few games, something is lost in the translation for sure from recordings to game on std ps4 at least.
In their sound software, equipment etc. I want to like them but, in 8 it's unbearable honestly, in any view, awful reverb mess, hurts even ears.

In wrc7 the external sound of junior was at least enjoyable from 3rd person, in 8 it's irritating to the ear.
Plus the optimization on std ps4 of graphic flow, just makes me so wary of getting another one, 9 or 10..
I was on the sss of turkey, fun but shame..

Cheers.

Yes saw that, that's what i mean, the result isn't as hinted more than not, far from it. Hopefully it is good enough.. thanks
Cheers.
I've certainly been happier with the sounds generally. I think I mentioned earlier in the thread. The classics have definitley benefited the most. Modern WRC cars have almost suffered in the game because of how epic the old rally cars sound 🙃. Worst ones so far are the JWRC cars but the R5 spec cars are a huge improvement which makes sense as it seems they're easier for the sound crews to get hold of to do good sound runs with them.

I see, yes it seems so from videos.
Well r5 wrc2 cars are my fav modern cars i think in wrc games up to now, so that's good to know then.
But i liked the jwrc too. And love older cars usually in sims.
Hope in replays sound of cars can be better to, with good doppler effect etc, rumblings..

You're on xsx or pc i think?

Xbox Series S 👍🏻

Xbox Series S 👍🏻
Thing is, im not even bothered for now on the realness or coolness of sounds, it's just such an utter mess in 8, at least on my std ps4, a mess of reverb, scratchy noises that are unbearable honesty, even after 5 mins ears hurt.
Just unusable game, wish i could make sure 9 or 10 is clean good sounds, that would seal it for me, and of course a minimum smoothness. On std ps4 and other platform.

Just tested it again with a wrc car, and its same or worse even. In any view, such a shame, wasted money, and headaches..
Will need a so solid confirmation that its fixed in 9 or 10 before i pay a dime.
Lack of respect to consumers, simply.

Edit: im not being picky for sure, I can say that.
I can play loud any game on a good headphone, and no problem. Just now after trying 5 mins wrc8, my ears feel numb and bit pain many mins later still. It's crazy how bad it is.

This game's pricing is a headscratcher, anyway I cancelled my pre-order I'll just wait for a sale I guess.

So WRC 9 felt real floaty to me on my DD2, anyone with some sort of DD wheel that can compare the two games for me? Or a link to a review somewhere talking about the steering feeling? I probably have some settings wrong for 9 but man the UI for the settings is just awful.

Saw a video of a sim type guy's channel, with a fanatec dd wheel. Said its pretty bad for now with these wheel. All i know..

So, PS4 version ot the game is not compatible with Logitech G29. This is so normal. :grumpy: good thing i didn't purchase this game new. Ill wait for patch and buy used for less. This practice is so not worth supporting it.

Playing on PC with 21:9 widescreen, Fanatec DD 2, Handbrake, H-Shifter and 3 pedals. Other sims are AMS2, RRE, Dirt Rally 2 (some PC2 and ACC).

So here my first view after a few hours into the game. WRC 10 is a mixed bag, the stages are good and also the new stages are well crafted. But there are the same bugs that we had in WRC 8 and 9 like stutter, which can be minimized if the fps is capped to exactly 60 or 120 fps. The lighting is better as in WRC 9 there a few graphic glitches in night and rain. The annoying screen dirt is there as in WRC 9 and it needs two wiper presses to clean the windscreen (on and off instead of one press for a few wipes ).

I don't like that the physics of H-shifter is not properly implemented you can hold the handbrake and shift the gears without clutch and all cars have a automatic clutch. Even the newest WRC cars need in reality the clutch to use handbrake turns (see WRC live footage).

But I have a big problem getting the FFB settings right. The FFB is vague at best and gives me little feedback (no comparison to AMS2, RRE or even Dirt Rally 2), it's kind of overshooting on the SAT forces and would have to be massively damped, which then comes at the expense of response speed when making corrections.

I use the cockpit view and a major criticism is the FoV, it is still not comparable to other racing sims and the seat adjustment area is also very limited. In the cockpit you also get the feeling that the FoV of the world and the cockpit do not fit together properly.

The sound is better and acceptable.
Graphics is missing a good anti aliasing as WRC 8 and WRC 9 there is only FXAA & TAA in post processing but no MSAA so the picture is aliased or blurry.

Same, unlikely to get any real time with it until tomorrow now.
Yep same for me by the time I had installed it I only had 5 minutes of viewing the showroom and Livery Editor before I was out the door.🥺

Exited to give it a good go over the weekend though. ☺️👍

I've driven a bit of Corsica and Portugal in the Junior WRC, then took the Juha Kankunnen Delta out for some runs at Kenya.

I'll sum up my early opinion thusly (PS5, Dualsense);

Whatever else might be lacking about this game, is absolutely made up for with the stages. Everything I've driven so far has been an absolute ton of fun.

It's a bit rough around the edges (some pop-in on the opening cutscene, non functioning instruments in the classics) and I think the career mode is a bit of a mess - a bit oversaturated with features and distinctly borrowed from Codies F1 games, and the tutorial girl is ultra condescending and annoying to listen to. For now, I switched to season mode pretty quick, but I may go back to add more features to the career a bit later.

The main other gripe is going to be the AI - they are laughably slow, not something I personally particularly care about in a rally game, but if you want challenging times to beat you're going to need to turn to online leaderboards.

That's about it for negatives - I didn't pick up WRC since 7 and I found a lot improved, particularly with the co-driver. My early impression is he's my favourite co-y since Nicky Grist in Dirt 4. I like that he now reacts to hits, offs, fast split times, but I don't know if that's new for this game. You can name him now, which is a welcome addition too.

I found the handling very intuitive based on a million hours on pad in dirt4 and wrc7, I was pretty much able to jump right in and the car drove about as I expected. I shook down the Yaris WRC in the free roam area and, wow, that is a spaceship at this point.

But again; stages, stages, stages. I'm very eager to drive the rest of them at this point, so they have done something right.

I'm also the fastest Lancia Delta on the Kenya shakedown on the PlayStation leaderboards, a fact I will refuse to hang an asterisk over for the rest of my life :P

TL;DR review: This is a solid rally game with great stages, but if you are looking for the most polished experience, it might not be for you. If you're more concerned with a fun driving experience, I'd feel pretty safe picking it up.

Do you mean WRC 9 or 10?
In WRC 9 the FFB was not very good but useable after dialing it in but in WRC 10 it completely vague and has overreacting SAT forces that lead to the floaty and unprecise feeling.

In WRC 9 set wheel and in game 540 degree wheel angle as WRC has no auto adjust.
FFB try SAT 90, Tyre load 80, Self center 60, Tyre slip 0 (it's only canned noise), Suspension 50-60, Ground surface 0 (also only noise), Engine 0-30 (some vibration in limiter). Both overall setttings at 100.
Fanatec: FF 60, NDP 10, NFR 3-5, INT 5, FEI 90 (FOR, SPR, DPR 100 default)

Have to say my initial impression has been good, the realistic length rallies are great, as is the ability to select each tyre you mount per corner, meaning it's the first rally title (that I'm aware of) that allows us to cross-match tyres.

My T300 settings from WRC9 seem to be a solid basis for tweaking and don't seem to be suffering the same issues that DD/Fanatec wheels are getting, so far my only gripe is that my USB handbrake is seen as a controller rather than an arduino unit and as such doesn't work with my wheel (as it tries to change the input to the controller whenever I then use it), so that needs patching as it was fine in WRC 9.

This is running the PC version.

I'm on a Fanatec CSW 2.5 and I'm having no issues, except when using 'quick resume' on my Series X, at which point the FFB disappears. I just close the game when I've finished a session now, as the loading times are so rapid anyway.
Really enjoying the game overall, especially after putting some decent time in to FFB settings in game and on the wheel. It will be even better once the bugs are ironed out (they did this pretty quickly for WRC 9) and all of the upcoming features are in place too.

Fixes and additions I'm really hoping for, aside from the obvious bugs and glitches:
  • a proper class system in clubs/online play, including multi-class events. They finally have this in the time trial mode so it should be doable
  • searchable and filterable clubs
  • custom events and seasons, to get more mileage out of all the classics
  • explanations or a guide for the tuning settings
  • Fiesta Rally3 from WRC 9's RallyStar mode
  • The RallyStar stages based in the Test Area from WRC 9
  • All the missing events from WRC 8 and WRC 9
  • Further stages for the historic rallies

Update out on Steam (not sure about other platforms)

Not going to lie, this game is immediately disappointing. The stages are nice, but the graphics are no different the WRC 9, force feedback (on PS5 controller) somehow seems worse, and the sound is woeful. In particular, the upshifts sound like you're driving a CVT... I think KT peaked with WRC 9, and WRC 10 is definitely not a next gen console game. The sooner Codemasters get their hands on the WRC licence the better. Think I'll trade my copy and go back to DR 2.0 until then

I've just given it a solid hour on my Fanatec 2.5, once I'd tweaked the settings a bit it was really enjoyable. I tend to use dash or bonnet cam and they were both great. The cars feel a lot heavier than they did on WRC 9 so there's a little bit of driving style adaptation needed, but it's really fun. The new stages are brilliant as well, especially Croatia. Also this is the first time I've ever been top of leaderboards haha, early access FTW!

edit: also, I've noticed on the stage selection screen that there's a "bonus" section, not yet playable, but it says that rallies from past seasons will be available too. I hadn't heard anything said about this but it's a very welcome surprise.
My CSL has a very dead zone and almost a delay between the input and the reaction.
Any setup tips?

Overall I’m happy with the game but my Fanatec shifter will only work for sequential mode,so no h pattern for the classics (my favourite cars ) is anyone else having this problem

Fanatec H-Shifter is working here connected to the base. Maybe double check if the gears are assigned in settings.

Thanks for that, how do you map them,I thought they would just be recognised, thanks for your help, should say I’m using csl elite base with shifter connected to the base

Good game on ps5, no issues and working well with t300. Missed wrc9, this looks good but not next gen... but actually there is no next gen game out there. Same story as f121... can't wait they stop supporting ps4 and start a proper next gen development.
